Completely agree mate, dry clean your modern bike, avoid water if at all possible . I treated myself to a nice carbon-everything bike a couple of years ago, really disappointed that I have had to replace a load of bearings already. With my old open bearing steel bikes an annual greasing and no problem hose washing every couple of weeks. Though I don't use degreaser, except on stripped-down components.

Doing water-less wash for my car or my bike since years now... A product that I can recommend : Optimum No Rinse. Clean well, smells good, biodegradable and last for a long time (dilution is like 15/20 ml per liter).

Great video, some good tips in here for sure. If you can do a quick efficient job like this it makes the job more bearable to do more often

Intersesting and some good tips - but the bike was hardly dirty in the scheme of things!

Taking off your chain when you want to clean it isn't such a great idea as according to Shimano, you aren't supposed to use the quick links on 11 speed chains. Considering how much they cost to buy, it would be a bit expensive to remove your chain once a week and re fit with a new quick link.

You reuse them up to five times (and I've found a dozen times). Just get the CN10 tool.

Not according to Shimano's instructions is what I'm saying. I guess its up to the individual whether they want to go against that advice and risk their chain failing but I would not be advising anyone to do this when it's just as easy to get a good chain bath and clean it equally as well on the bike without taking any risk. In my own experience, I have noticed the Shimano quick links getting looser each time you remove and re fit them, so I only use new ones now as it's such an important part of your bike. It's not worth taking a risk with.

Save yourself a lot of hassle and wax your road bike if you can (mostly riding in dry weather, a bit of rain sometimes is fine too). My cassette has never been so clean for so long, and even touching the chain the stains/tattoos are very easy to wipe off since it's just dried wax.

Great video. The brake pads need to be removed and given proper attention

shimano released new mech 12s 105 and grx at Sep 1st, hoping you can test the new pull ratio and compatibility between old 11s FD and 12s MTB RD pulling by new 12s STI. maybe it will save lots of money.

I always removed my cassette to degrease it, but now I am starting to think that's overkill.

Be carefull of waterless wash on a matt finish. Most products contain wax which will ruin matt finishes.

Do you find master/missing links become weaker when installed and removed so often, or is it fine to do that?

Makes no difference! They say only use them once, only because they want to sell you another set!
