- Learn how to configure a Cisco Router to DSL model and your home or small office ISP. Same concepts apply to configuring a cisco router to your home network or home wireless. This video will walk you through how to configure a small little Internet Service Provider and then we will configure step by stem your Cisco Router to connect to your dsl modem.
We will configure a Web Server, DNS Server, DHCP, Inter Vlan Routing, and NAT.

Very informative, I've got to try it, although I must say that this is like teaching someone how to drive but the minimum speed must be 100 MPH, take it easier... slow it down, include more details especially in the North/South leg which is what sits in ppl's homes. Jussayin'

I've been trying to setup a ER605 with a Cable ISP and DSL ISP, having issues and called the tech's at Tp-link to get help they told me it can't be done at all...
However, I've watched several TH-cam videos on the matter and with the same Item and they say it can but don't show how they did it... LOL...
Anyway, I enjoyed your video and have liked and subscribed to see more, perhaps with your helpful videos I will figure out how to do this...

You need to set static route for the SOHO router. The ISP router cannot be seen.

what if you wanted to connect another SOHO to your "ISP"?

Dont you have to provide credentials to your ISP like PPPoe username and password? why only use DHCP?

Everything in this topology is already configured for the second computer on the actual routers and switches.
To address the second computer you follow the same process as we did on the “HR” PC. Go to the computer NIC and statically configure the IP.
You will want to use 172.16.10.10/24 and 172.16.10.1 as your gateway.

How do you do it if you have a Verizon gateway which hands out dhcp private class c addresses from the Lan ports?
Hi so how I have this set up is follows
gi0/0 on my 2821 is connected to my Verizon Router/gateway
I have a NAT translation set to allow my inside NAT to send all the traffic to gi0/0
gi0/0 is set to dhcp allowing the Verizon router to assign a private class c address 192.168.1.X /24
I followed everything but tge hr pc doesnt ping to DNS and ISP ROUTER
same! i think the nat setup is wrong. I will try again but something is missing
