looking at some of these comments its amzing how much companies will screw us over and some people will still defend it like the company is doing them a favor by giving them less for more money.
I’m going with a unpopular opinion, I actually like them, the lack of features on the case is why they are so light weight plus the case size is very pocket friendly compared with others, battery life is excellent. I think they are harsh reviews are only because people don’t understand their market
You haven't even understood why this model was introduced! It is to reduce the number of products that you need to charge on the go. With the case having no battery, you have one less product to charge. Its huge. We have our iPhones and Macs and power banks to charge these days. This is an excellent budget model to have with a whopping 18 hours of battery. Will last you for 2 whole days, maybe 3.
True i broight them and they last so long. Case charge didn't matter. They dont give youa charger but use the one for your phonet@nothinguntouchedpodcast
@@dmarr4941as an Apple fan and User for forty years “you get used to it after a while” is precisely what’s the normal situation. Weird that you’d think otherwise.
Just picked up a pair yesterday. And with the Apple Music EQ set to ‘Hip Hop’, music sounds great with excellent deep bass - not sure why people complain about there being no EQ when Apple Music EQ does the job brilliantly. Very happy with the sound for the price. The button controls are also very easy to use, in contrast to what other reviewers have said. I just pinch the earbud control button with thumb and forefinger. I also love that they will last for years, because the battery is not being constantly degraded by being constantly charged to 100% by a case with an in-built battery. My earbuds with battery case have lost battery capacity very quickly. Meanwhile my Beats Flex, which are not on constant recharge, have lasted ages and will last for years to come. I also have a 3 year old iPhone that still has 95% Maximum Battery Capacity because I only ever charge it to ~80%.
@@nigeljones1969 Nice 👌🏻 If you can get a good seal with the provided tips, you should get the best out of them, with a fuller sound and excellent passive noise isolation. These type of earphones only sound good with a decent seal. Mine seal so well with the largest tips, that I get a vacuum pressure feeling when I remove them. If you use Apple Music, you can try finding an EQ that suits your tastes (I like ‘Hip Hop’). Spotify also has a great EQ to play with. Another tip is that if you experience low volume, you can try reconnecting/re-pairing them with your device. I experienced low volume initially, but switching between iPhone to iPad and then back to iPhone again has seemed to fix the issue permanently. Hope you are happy with your new Solo Buds!
@@parasupa the trouble, as the reviewer pointed out, is you could get a pair of TWS ear buds that offer so much more for way less. For example, I recently got a pair of Soundcore R50i NC for less than $30 in my local currency. These buds have noise cancelling, transparency mode, excellent battery life (10hrs with noise cancelling/transparency on, about 7hrs with those off; 45hrs with the case), an app that offers EQ customization and firmware updates when needed, and fantastic call quality. You also get a charging cable and two other silicone tips. To be fair, the ANC and transparency mode aren't the best, but they're quite usable. And again, all under $30!
Glad someone said this, the fact I can choose to charge them was a major factor in buying them after learning about battery lifecycles. I have no complaints.
Great watch and fair review. They are actually decent BUT a lot of their budget competition blows them out of the water. The only reason they are even able to have them at that price bracket is due to the "Beats" brand name. I can definitely see them selling well based on the name but for anybody who does their homework they are going to go with so many other brands that offer better value at that price.
Lol I said the same thing but you beat me to it. I 100% feel like they are relying on the branding and price point to carry them. I can see some parent on a budget possibly buying a pair for their kid when they may not be able to afford airpods. I watch a ton of review vids nowadays. But prior to like 2022, I can't say that I read too many reviews for stuff I bought(atleast headphones and earbuds). There are probably alot more ppl out there that just buy stuff they see on the shelf once they can afford it.
@@dmac5472 Yeah the branding is for sure gonna carry them heavy. Coz yeah some people are nit picky, and will watch several reviews and read several articles before making a purchase but some people are just cool with buying whatever they recognize on the shelf on the day. Coz anybody who does their homework knows that this is basically a really stripped down pair of buds being sold at a price point that they don't warrant.
At least the other brands have a case with a battery. It is just crazy that I have to replay the part u mentioned that the case has NO battery 3 times because I thought I heard wrongly.

I just got a pair and for the price I say quite a bargin. The app is needed to fulfill the proper sound. When properly fitted in the ear it blocks out most noise. So if you want the whole enchilada, spend the 300 bucks!
I have the studio buds and just bought these. I really like the small case and how easy they work with my phone and my tv. No other wireless ear buds that I have used compare in how easy they connect to my tv even without havig to disconnect from phone. Also no audio lag when gaming on tv Also i think beats are a bit underrated an too hated on. My gf has had 3 paires of airpods pro, had problemas with all of them. My studio buds have worked for 4 years straight no issues at all
This review was bad and missed the point of these earbuds entirely. These earbuds last can last an entire 10 hour work shift or long travel day without any battery anxiety. If someone wants earbuds with more features the Beats Studio Buds Plus are an option. This was a lazy review overall
Yea these are perfect for what I need earbuds for. To shit on a product makes no sense I mean you gotta know what the phk you’re buying and its intended purpose.
10 hours is not a big deal in todays market. Soundcore (among other brands) earbuds last about 10 hours on a single charge and then go another 30-40 hours with the case. and still come with better sound, multi device pairing, eq, noise cancelling, transparency and an app.
Agreed I’m an audio file but I also do Landscaping that’s why I got this cause I didn’t have a big budget today and I needed something immediately and I didn’t want I known so that was that I have no base at all inside
The only bad thing about these is the bass isn’t very loud like I love it to be and there is no indicator that tells you it’s charging or fully charged. You have to go to Bluetooth and check from there. Overall tho, they some decent kind of earbuds.
Im going on a trip to Hawaii soon, and need some air pods. My main contenders are beats solo buds, Apple Airpods, JBL vibe buds, and space A40. I was wondering if you could give me some feedback based on which one you would recommend. (All around the $100 range except for JBL) If its worth mentioning, my personal preference is the bud shape rather than the beam. Thanks
Good afternoon, Game Sky. Please can you help me decide if I should get the MW4 or get the Jabra Elite 10 again, which, unfortunately, for me, got damaged, particularly the charging case cover. I don't know if Generation 2 of Elite 10 is worth purchasing. If anyone has any opinions and suggestions, please let me know. Thank you.
tbh honest im a little bit skeptical why there is no battery in the case but after using it about a week im quite satisfied with those earbuds & i only charged the earbuds around 2 times maybe this earbuds will last longer because of not constantly charges the earbuds when not in used...
I tried them out; I was tempted by the transparent red color, and I really like that they work with the Apple ecosystem almost as well as AirPods but are still Android-friendly too. I didn't mind the fit of these, and I didn't mind not having a battery in the case (the super small case made them instant favorites to throw in my pocket). But man, the sound quality on these were very hit and miss. Some songs sounded really good (though not as good as AirPods or anything more expensive), but others - most notably instrumental tracks - sounded absolutely horrible. My $30 Jlab Go Air Pop earbuds sound way better (and offer a fully transparent color option).
I bought a pair to use with my Apple TV 4 K exclusively so I will not disturb anyone late at night. Apple gives you two weeks to try so I can return I’ve I’m not happy with them.
I’m so glad I listened to this review. I’m trying to find the best quality affordable wireless earbuds under 100$ after having raycons for a while and I wanted to try another option….I was interested in these earbuds because I thought it would be a step up because they’re a beats product but I was sadly mistaken…Thank you
I appreciate the candor and I understand your points. That said, I feel like Apple/Beats will probably sell these at a decent rate on name brand alone. The average consumer on that "budget tier" will probably give them a shot just on the Beats name and rep. I'm talking about the folks who who dont really watch or read reviews and may just see the 80 buck price(or lower whenever there are sales) and just jump on them. I don't get not putting a battery in the case, especially that seems to be pretty common with even dirt cheap earbuds. But again, they prob figured they could strip away alot of stuff and still turn a profit.
I’m an audio file. I just bought these today because I do Landscaping I needed a set, cause I had nothing. I didn’t have a big budget today, so yeah I got that. I want something all the way too much of something unless I want that myself.
I just bought a pair today and I’m not impressed with them, for a start the obvious no charger lead and no battery in the case, don’t sound that great but to top it off I paid £80 which is $102.43 at the moment
I agree these aren’t worth the money, I bought a pair last month only used them to work and now even plugged into something the buds don’t even charge anymore
I have those and they have decent noise canceling, a really good battery in the case, and really good sound, and include a charging cable. I haven’t tried the Beats Solo buds and I know for a fact the air pro 3’s blow them out of the water in every way
There absolutely nothing wrong with these. I work sitting on a desk all day long and my job allows me to wear headphones all day. This is light compact and as far as the no cables go I’m sure everyone’s got 10 just laying around already. This is 60 bucks dude … to have ANY complaints about these is ridiculous and these are perfect if you don’t want to spend a ton of money. As far as the sound goes .. I’m interested in having a small compact case with ear buds and I have no issues with the way these sound… I just want to have something on while I’m at work… I’m not mixing an album for the next upcoming artist with these.
18 hours total is nothing compared to having 10 hours plus another 40-50 hours in the case. you can literally go 50 hours before having to plug in with other brands like soundcore.
oh... I guess it being budget friendly is fine. I think it just doesn't compete with those at 80$. Soundcore has a better earbud with the sport x20 and they don't have a way to outperform other products at a similar price.
I have a lot of earbuds but I don't use wireless charging so the fact that they don't have a battery in the case doesn't bother me. But everything else you brought up does bother me you're spot on with the sound quality it's terrible. Thanks Gamesky much appreciated. 💯👍🇺🇸
Great review, Keith. We can count on you not to pull your punches. They've got a lot of balls pricing these at $80.. There are $30 earbuds that put these to shame. It's bad enough that the case doesn't have a battery, but to not even include a USB cable is just insulting.
@@dmarr4941 Yep. They basically stripped them down so much that they can't even compete with competition at that price point. They are going to be carried by brand loyalty alone basically.
i mean brands like soundcore offer 10 hours on a single charge and another 30-40 hours with the case (not to mention an app, eq, noise cancelling, transparency etc). so yea 18 hours total is nothing to write home about.
@ that’s with the case. No huds last 18 hours straight some people rather have that. Some people don’t care to EQ. So don’t buy them if you don’t want them. Buy soundcore and shush about it FR 😂
@@elliekim6666 nobody should be listening to earbuds for 18 hours straight anyway lol. pretty sure nobody in their right mind would do that anyway. also no need to get so triggered by someone trying to telling you there are other better options out there. nobodys trying to argue with you just trying to help you out.
Great review, sad beats went this route. While I wasnt considering these as i have the og studio buds i was trying to decide potentially upgrading to either the buds+ or fit (still trying to decide which one). Everything ive heard this is not it.
Stay away from Beats. I got the flex and Solo as a gift. I heard the quality of the original Beats headphone sucked. I guess it applies to these too. My $15 and $20 wireless earbuds from Banggood and Temu have way better sound quality. The only thing they are better at is the longevity of the battery. Yes, the cable for charging is ridiculously short. The base sucks and the volume level is low. Not sure how long they will last but it sucks just for the sound alone.
Solo buds ok at a good discount otherwise skip them. Plenty of better options including the Studio Buds. Unfortunately the Solo’s compromised way too much in so many areas. No charge cable was just ridiculously cheap.
Lol, I actually like my raycons tbh. I get that I could have likely found stuff that rates higher but I can't complain personally. That said I am no audiophile. I got over the ear headphones in a pinch before vacation a couple of yrs ago and got what I thought was a good deal using a code. I got the entry level earbuds after vacation because I liked the headphones. They serve my use cases pretty well. I don't really use EQs and the like so much because the bulk of my music listening is on an ipod touch 4th gen. I listen to some podcasts and watch youtube vids on the phone the earbuds. 2 yrs in and they've held up. I will say that after jumping into the review rabbit hole I am way more informed about products than I was before. Raycon will have to start offering competitive features and a solid app IF they want to be more respected by folks in the tech space. Meaning ppl more in the know than me lol
100% Apple doing Apple things...you want "luxuries" like a case that actually has a battery in it and even a fancy cable, you'll have to buy our flagship products!
Such an Apple move. We'll give you a budget pair of earbuds. We'll just take the battery out of the case, no type c cable, no battery indicator so you have to guess, no transparency or ANC. At least you'll be cool bc it's Apple
The fact that these things don't have a battery in the case is just... Why? There are $20 true wireless airpod knockoffs that have batteries in their cases... What is the excuse? Even early true wireless earbuds made in 2015-2016 had batteries in their cases, there were a few that didn't and that might have been okay back then... But here? In 2024? Is it because Apple has everything so incredibly overpriced that the moment they have something under $100 that they NEED to handicap it in the most ridiculous way just to make sure that their more expensive stuff sells better? Or are they so insanely oblivious when it comes to budgeting that their first idea to get a set of Beats earbuds under $100 was to take out the battery in the case and just thought, "Eh, the customers will figure it out"
Just when I thought Apple wasn't going to make wasteful products, here we go. Why not discount the Studio Buds until a newer Buds Pro comes out? Great review despite the bare bones approach by Apple.
When I first saw them I took a 10 minutes sigh 😕 and then I decided that even if they gave them to me for free I will glady reject them.I dokt need them for anything on this planet.
I support less batteries... If you pay less. I think Skullcandy has some for like $30 Not including a cable is nice. Basically everyone has a USB c cable for some gadget or another
Thanks for the true review. A lot of people who gave good reviews have probably never listen to great sound. Once you listen to great sound, everything just sounds terrible. It's a $10 max for me.
This thing isn't worth $20-$30, but since it's a 🍏 Beats product, despite its extortionate price, it's going to sell like hot cakes, pff 🤦🏽♂️ 🚶🏽♂️🚶🏽♂️🚶🏽♂️ Ps: Keith, or someone else, can explain to me why no tws manufacturer, apart from Technics, has yet switched to multipoint with 3 connected devices 🙏🏽
These are a no from me. They sound worse than my old pair of skullcandy and even a $20 pair, cut up my ears to the point where I was bleeding just my having them in, and the no battery in the case is the cherry on top. The transparent plastic case being cool is about all I can positively say about them
hahahahahahaha, that's what I thought, this is seriously a joke, no battery, not a good sound, enough any other competitor will give you much more for 80 dollars.
I literally bought thse from Bestbuy. Very mid range. Lacking bass which is why I got these. They look ok except for the b icon it looks painted on with a white out pen. Paid $50 on sale. I did however try the beats solo 4 on ear they sounds good but still no bass Only good beat are the studio over the ear. They do spund very clean however. Compact. Nice play time. I use haedphones at the gym. Its the only motivation. Beats you could have done way better

I have those and they have decent noise canceling, a really good battery in the case, and really good sound, and include a charging cable. I haven’t tried the Beats Solo buds and I know for a fact the air pro 3’s blow them out of the water in every way
I like mine so far: they have a nice, crisp, clean sound
There absolutely nothing wrong with these. I work sitting on a desk all day long and my job allows me to wear headphones all day. This is light compact and as far as the no cables go I’m sure everyone’s got 10 just laying around already. This is 60 bucks dude … to have ANY complaints about these is ridiculous and these are perfect if you don’t want to spend a ton of money. As far as the sound goes .. I’m interested in having a small compact case with ear buds and I have no issues with the way these sound… I just want to have something on while I’m at work… I’m not mixing an album for the next upcoming artist with these.
I love your honesty man
No battery on a TWS case is absolutely nuts!
Yeah the case dosent recharge the buds but the charge gives it 18 hours of life ?
18 hours total is nothing compared to having 10 hours plus another 40-50 hours in the case. you can literally go 50 hours before having to plug in with other brands like soundcore.
Get em Gamesky! These are a $20 set of earbuds with a Beats logo! Sad
Your phone needs one too but they don't provide it ether but yet you buy them sooooooo
I think they are great
oh... I guess it being budget friendly is fine. I think it just doesn't compete with those at 80$. Soundcore has a better earbud with the sport x20 and they don't have a way to outperform other products at a similar price.
Thats the Apple way of doing things. Give people a trash product for a premium price. The shocking thing is Isheep love it!
I have a lot of earbuds but I don't use wireless charging so the fact that they don't have a battery in the case doesn't bother me. But everything else you brought up does bother me you're spot on with the sound quality it's terrible. Thanks Gamesky much appreciated. 💯👍🇺🇸
classical 5-10 dollar product selling for x7-x10 just because of the brand name
What i can buy? On a budget
what the thought process for these? exploit the fan boys/girls
Great review, Keith. We can count on you not to pull your punches.
They've got a lot of balls pricing these at $80.. There are $30 earbuds that put these to shame. It's bad enough that the case doesn't have a battery, but to not even include a USB cable is just insulting.
Probably their main developer went on holiday, and he asked his janitor to replace him 😂
never thought you'd be this frank. great short review.
I have A LOT of Apple devices because I like the products that I own, but this is a crazy money grab. Insane.
@@dmarr4941 Yep. They basically stripped them down so much that they can't even compete with competition at that price point. They are going to be carried by brand loyalty alone basically.
Hence "budget pair"
Is it insane to not have a battery if they last 18 hours ? They last so long im fine with that .
i mean brands like soundcore offer 10 hours on a single charge and another 30-40 hours with the case (not to mention an app, eq, noise cancelling, transparency etc). so yea 18 hours total is nothing to write home about.
I've seen earbuds a Five Below with more features 🤣. Good Lord, I paid only $20 more for my 1More Evos
I regret buying these i boughy them few minutes ago and the terms and policy say they should be returned completely unopened
Solo buds ok at a good discount otherwise skip them. Plenty of better options including the Studio Buds. Unfortunately the Solo’s compromised way too much in so many areas. No charge cable was just ridiculously cheap.
Those look like knock off Raycons, and that's supposed to be a compliment.
By the way, thank you for the review. Great work as always.
Wow, Apple made a pair of buds worse than Rayvon.
On second thought, I'm not surprised.
I don't know that I've ever seen a case without a battery 😮
50usd for logo and rest for product
I literally bought the Beats Studio Buds today for $80.00 at Best Buy 🤔
Tozo nc7 if you want a budget pair.
I support less batteries... If you pay less. I think Skullcandy has some for like $30
Not including a cable is nice. Basically everyone has a USB c cable for some gadget or another
What a joke! 🤣
Finally someone got the cojones to call these duds out
While every other YTer out there making it look like Beats was doing us a favour
Thanks for sharing. Blessings on your day.
I knew your review of this was gonna be completely positive.
20 dollars for the actual product which is lacking in every way except the looks, 59 dollars for the brand which is way over-hyped
Thanks for the true review. A lot of people who gave good reviews have probably never listen to great sound. Once you listen to great sound, everything just sounds terrible. It's a $10 max for me.
This thing isn't worth $20-$30, but since it's a 🍏 Beats product, despite its extortionate price, it's going to sell like hot cakes, pff 🤦🏽♂️
🚶🏽♂️🚶🏽♂️🚶🏽♂️
Ps: Keith, or someone else, can explain to me why no tws manufacturer, apart from Technics, has yet switched to multipoint with 3 connected devices 🙏🏽
These might be the worst beats wireless earbuds ever made when u can get the beats studio buds plus for about 20 dollars they go on sale all the time
Thank you very much! Sir
Thankfully all products going forward will be cable type C……….. everybody will already have a cable let’s face it
Thank you very much!
I 100% agreed!
Bought them, listened, returned them - they are not even worth that! 👎🏼
Are that they didn't send you the demo items? 😂😂😂
Jlab ear buds ran me like 23 bucks. They sound better , rechargeable case and 32 hours of playtime 😅
Thanks for your honest opinion 👍 .
Luckily I got myself some baseus m10 s, thát's worth the money.
Yeah these seem great… at $50ish. The price kills it.
$50? No, we got the soundpeats opera 3 at that price
These are perfect for $30
@@petermurage8685 you are right but I was factoring a little bit of Apple tax. At this current price the Apple tax is absurd for what you get.
I literally bought thse from Bestbuy. Very mid range. Lacking bass which is why I got these. They look ok except for the b icon it looks painted on with a white out pen. Paid $50 on sale. High fi is mid the treble is good. Mids are very mid. I need base. I going for the Peets Hi fi 4. I did however try the beats solo 4 on ear they sounds good but still no bass
Only good beat are the studio over the ear. They do spund very clean however. Compact. Nice play time. I use haedphones at the gym. Its the only motivation. Beats you could have done way better
Oh ffs, ive just brought these, bollocks 😢
So much dislike, these solo buds are actually good and sound very good and battery is great.
