I appreciate the positivity in the middle of a trial, gives me hope that we can overcome the challenges we owner operators face. Prayers your way and keep trusting the Lord!
Its a easy fix let the company pay the repairs and just have another payment. Keep it till you pay chocolate off then when your ready swap the motor Cummins 👍 rent the truck mean while . You will be alright great thing is the company will keep you Rolling 😊
A paid off truck would give you more flexibility with your family in the long term. It's a tool you use to maximize profit. Time is the commodity we can't make more of. Which shop will stand by their work? The other option is look into a cheaper rental,if your pulling ISO you don't need a hose rack and all the extras. I'm not sure how helpful this was ,but I wish you the best.
First of all, bro, I want to say I love the attitude. I know how you feel. I’ve been there before. On the bright side, you work for a company that is willing to help you out and in this day and age that is very rare yes it may cost a little more than what you would like but at least you still have revenue coming in and the bills are still getting paid. And your truck will be good to go soon enough I like the idea of the 60 series and running local after the truck is paid off. I think that is a great idea. Anyways, I hope you’re doing well. Hope the families doing well. Holler at me sometime brother.
I got 963k on my paccar and still going strong 💪. We have one in the yard that is paccar with 1.2 million miles but driver has dropped 40k on outside engine last 12 months
Hey, you can buy a used Yellow tractor at Ritchie Brothers Auction for 4500 dollars and use it while you put a Series 60 in the Pete and not burden yourself with debt. Hope everything works out. We are just in the beginning of a great trucking recession. Bill
Build personal emergency fund and business emergency fund, size dependent on size of business, but for one truck I would recommend 20k$ business emergency fund minimum to plus business credit cards and business lines of credit
Ignore the Paccar haters. I have owned Trucks with. Cummins, Detroit and Paccar. And the honest truth is I have experienced problems with all of them. I have been running My Peterbilt with the Paccar MX 13 for the last 4 years And so far it has been a good Truck. I am up to 545,000 miles at the moment without any major problems. But I have to make a decision either buy another Paccar soon or keep it going until I have an in frame. Neither of the Cummins engines I ran lasted above 650,000 miles before needing an in frame. So I always work around the basis of getting an in frame at around the 600,000 mile mark. Hope this helps..
Ever try to see if you can work with one of the owner operator who has a fleet of trucks . Work with them if trucks gonna be in shop for months. Just an idea
I doubt if it will need a 'complete' overhaul .... as a mechanic I would go with letting the workshop investigate thoroughly and repair (you trust this garage) loan a vehicle from your company and continue earning .... When 'hot chocolate' is back in service set a target for replacement (maybe 750,000mls) or start considering a future new truck .... I agree with Chris (806 Driver) and wish you well .... regards from England.
Warranty work seems like they have to run info pictures etc back and forth to validate whatever. I think paccar is a good motor just electronic/Def/injector issues but they all have there issues. If you pay the 7k to shop can you use PO from Heniff? If that's an option you can spread out cost s get truck back sooner than with Peterbilt and enjoy a paid off truck very shortly. Just a test of faith before your blessing she got another 500k in her.
In my opinion I’d go new with the Cummins engine me and my brother had one for 400,000 miles all we did was PM maintenance never had a day on the side of the road was a 2022 x 15 but most of all Pray about it he will show you the road
I dont know what year your truck/ Paccar engine is. But I know mine is warranted up to 700k miles. Is that not the case with yours? Otherwise, Amen on your words about God. He's got your back. My first truck, a 99 Mack let me down and I had more $$$ to fix it. I'm in my 3rd truck since then, and I'm doing better now. God bless ypu buddy.
Those Paccars are pretty good until they get some age on them, then any honest mechanic will tell you, huge amount of plastic connectors and sensors get brittle from age and heat, and unless its sheer luck, a lot of them can get damaged during an overhaul and all that will skyrocket your final bill. Bet you will need a new camshaft and compressor,, and of course, a fuel pump.(oh and probably injectors).
Wonderful attitude my friend, sounds to me like fixing the head gasket is the right answer. I’ve also been following your weight loss struggles, this is going to sound crazy but trust me it’s working for me, please look into the carnivore diet! Peace!
if the oil is black film its a engine oil cooler, if its green tinted its a transmission oil cooler, you dont need a overhaul unless your have massive blow by, compression symptoms are air compressor, egr cooler, or head gasket. black or darkened coolant is a egr cooler no oily film. cummins engines have there own sets of issues, 30000 engine hours or there about needs a overhaul,
Trade it in get a fresh warranty, if you rebuild it with current warranty if something goes wrong again warranty won’t cover it then you’re stuck with broke truck and another rebuild
Best I ever did for my health was sell my truck and get a local job, I see my family everyday and even though it’s less pay it evens out with OTR cost of living
You can just go get new truck even at lone mountain or any other please, the truck prices are not too high right now. Just do some more research and pray about it and you and your wife can make a decision.
But paccard MX 13 is a problematic engine so was the isx Cummins . . But paccard has held up for millions of miles. Mainly that a lot of shops can't work on them. Due to computer Davie 4 software. And the fuel mileage sucks. So does the Cummins X. Too bad can't get a DD 15/13 or a D 13 Volvo. Better fuel mileage. And International just came out with a new engine that is said to be great fuel mileage torque to house power.
Option 1 repair the heads yourself if you have the tools and know how. If you don't know how you can watch videos on it. 2. Pay out of pocket because it will cost you less then waiting for peterbilt or renting a truck.
Keep your head up Jorge. Trust in the father it’s the best thing you could do in any situation in life. Without him we are nothing.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Im going thru it right now brother. Im spending $30K on my trk right now I have 5 more payments on it But it is what it is. Keep ur head up. God bless
Praying for you George God has you where you are supposed to be faith is a must brother

If they are placard certified at that shop. Call warranty and see if they will reimburse you on repair.
jorge, i think you should go through the current shop. you trust them and that is priceless

I understood you loud and clear big bro... This GAME can be a different animal! but positivity is always a good way to go!
Hey brother hang in there you made right choice it will get better
Jorge may you and Family be blessed and the pain you endure now with this truck turn into a blessing with the Lord

PDP Trucking Inc does not charge you for a loaner, if you can get to the terminal. LKG charges less thsn most shops.
Love your attitude brotha! We will always pull through with this mindset! 😬 New Subbbb
Thank you so much

I think I passed you earlier I was south bound on I-45 coming out of Dallas. Good luck to you
Ever try to see if you can work with one of the owner operator who has a fleet of trucks .

Just an idea
I have the same issues with mh cummins isx 15. I got oil in my coolant reservoir in one of my trucks 🚚 its annoying!
Yes it does
Need to check that it's a glider frame from the factory. If not you cannot change the brand motor. It's an EPA thing.

Amen, keep praying on it, the Lord will lead you where you need to be.
You got this bud.
Honestly To me option 1 sounds the best. Hope you figure it out my friend. Best of luck!

My company paccar. 579. 2020. Engine took a crap at. 466k.
Dang that’s not good
Use to deliver at Michelin off McCarty.
I dont know what year your truck/ Paccar engine is. But I know mine is warranted up to 700k miles. Is that not the case with yours? Otherwise, Amen on your words about God. He's got your back. It did but not for a head-gasket but after they opened it they found other problems.
How much is the balloon payment. To own the truck
New truck with Cummins! Enough said
Does that company have an account with heniff? Just asking so in the future I can take my truck there for repairs
Those Paccars are pretty good until they get some age on them, then any honest mechanic will tell you, huge amount of plastic connectors and sensors get brittle from age and heat, and unless its sheer luck, a lot of them can get damaged during an overhaul and all that will skyrocket your final bill. Paccar extended the warranty to 750k.
What's the name of shop in Houston?
Ebenezer truck service
Wonderful attitude my friend, sounds to me like fixing the head gasket is the right answer. I’ve also been following your weight loss struggles, this is going to sound crazy but trust me it’s working for me, please look into the carnivore diet! Peace!
Option #3...find an owner operator with your company that has to be out for vacation or some type of health reason & drive their truck...
This company doesn’t allow this option.
Don't forget LOT Lizard on mccarty😊😊😊😊😊😊

Warranty is just an insurance thing. With a long wait every time you use a warranty and they never pay for everything.
Damn bro I’m sorry this happened to you. I’ve seen so many of these with paccar, I will never buy a paccar motor sheesh.
Thank you bro. This is definitely the last paccar truck I buy..
There’s a Peterbilt off 290 Fairbanks
Dios aprieta, pero no ahorca. Keep your head up.
Pray that God will give you the way to go
That motor should not need a in frame. Just repairs.
You gots this bro
OTR magic
Ouch,ouch & ouch & yes in God's faith 🙏 & prayers 2u
Take it Ritchie Brothers and go work for Mr.Charlie 🫡
IMO, is to get a part time driving job, so you only have one payment instead of two payments.
I got a friend who selling his peterbilt.
Maybe I can ask him if he rent it to u 500 a week.
Yes it's in the heniff system
I would save the money you already have and just get another truck and keep it moving.
Get out of that thing one way or the other and get a Detroit.
That sucks brother.
If it's under warranty use it.. You still don't know what's all wrong.. There could be other issues
For the difference in money I'd get the new truck!
Pay 7000k rent truck in mean time and focus on paying your truck off quick to then sell it
I like that scenario
Your main reason is that emissions crap. I had 1.2 million miles on my old 579 when I sold it paccars are bullet proof when deleted.
You can just go get new truck even at lone mountain or any other please, the truck prices are not too high right now. Just do some more research and pray about it and you and your wife can make a decision.
If you are talking engine swap, why not do that now?
Can’t because I’m still paying for the truck
I think you should buy another truck.
I would sell my hog boss...
Saludos 🫡 jorge
Egr coolwr

I wouldn't touch this 1st gen engine from international I'd wait and see what kind if issues they have.
A subsidiary of Volkswagen has purchased International . You may see Volkswagen engines in their trucks . Anything is better than a MaxForce engine !
@vicpetrishak7705 a deleted Maxx is a pretty decent engine of course any engine is a pretty if not for the emissions sh!+
I’ve talked with diesel mechanics and they all say that PACCAR trucks are the hardest to work on and the engines with the most problems.
Fix your truck with that shop. Rates are bad an it’s a lot easier with a pay for truck
Repower with a cat. Nothing comes close
The problem is he can’t against the epa rules.
