Left Florida when I was 18 , lived in Hawaii for 5 years , and now currently living in California , I’m 25 now and it was the best decision I’ve ever made
I left my hometown for a work opportunity. Leaving everything I knew was a bit nerve wrecking at first but now that I have done it I am glad that I did. Gives me a better chance to focus on what I need to do.
I've been seriously thinking about leaving my hometown a lot lately. A new beginning is what I need. I'm not going to rush this but definitely making necessary preparations just in case. I'm glad you spoke on this.😊
Sometimes the people from your hometown would hinder your progress..Alot of them won't be for you or support you either so I really think it depends with certain people sometimes the move is good and beneficial for some folks..
Nothing bothers me more than hearing "successful" people saying that staying in your hometown means you are a failure. Heard celebrities say this before. I go back to my hometown two or three times a year to visit people. Plenty of them are very happy and living simple, content lives. It works for some people. There's nothing wrong with staying, though there is great benefit to going out and seeing the world. I've never been able to assimilate into any of the new communities I've moved to since leaving my hometown 25 years ago. I've got a nice job and a great family life, but otherwise it's pretty lonely out here.
Chicago to Houston been here 2 years. It was a hard choice but I needed a change. No friends when I came was hard Becasue I was always super bored but now have a solid group of friends! I love my city tho I'm home sick sometimes but I'm good as long as I go home once every few months but i dating here is challenging other than that i love Houston also I'm pursuing a career in healthcare and Houston is the place for that
@ReeNikki LOL! The bugs aren't that bad but I feel you its most def very humid. I heard Dallas was nice, maybe you should check it out if you still interested in Texas but don't like the weather in the summer. I heard Dallas is less humid and nice. I like Houston tho, its a cool city. You should visit! I typically like places up north due to the liberal mindset lol in general but Houston is probably as far south as I could go LOL! and it's cheap here, well to me so win win
I’m from stl. Moved to Tampa in August for law school. But now I see being in a new placed just increased the flukey or fake people around me and I have less people around me that actually fuck with me.
Finally, a video that balances it out. There's many variables that play into the move of someone leaving their hometown and everyone should consider their dispostion. I've personally did not have the luxury of family support and I have some friends that help their parents to get by so staying in our hometown was beneficial. I get that its good to have new perspectives on life and leaving your hometown does that but you can also go on mini-vacations for that new scene. Anyways, I'm finally at the point of my life that I can successfully move out. It took me time to save money, invest in my education and get job experience but now I'm ready. I hope whoever is consider this to really reflect on their situation and not just do what they are told to do because that defeats the whole purpose of growth.
Left my hometown with 450 in my pocket. Slept in my car while working 2 jobs! Ended up on the other side of the country and now making triple what I used to make! My own place and a good job! No complaints but I do miss my family but it's 2022 and traveling is a thing and visits can always happen with family.
I'm from Chattanooga. Coming from a medium size city. I think everyone eventually should move out of their home town (if it's a small or medium size town). I'm moving pretty soon. It's time to see more things, experience more potential, better market and diversity. Anyone had the experience of relocating or have any tips on how to relocate?
ThatYoungin TJ I have lived in 4 different major cities since leaving the my hometown. I have had family in all the cities and we are tight. So, that was definitely a lifeline. But, the advice I would give is just do it. You will succeed if you put in the right amount of effort and not make excuses. Your confidence in life wnd being able to navigate it sky rockets once you’ve moved. It’s scary, but that fades once you get your footing. It gets easier and easier with every move. You almost want to keep doing it. Hilarious! You can always go back home. And don’t see it as a failure if you do.
@@ClassicMan33 Props for the feedback, fam. You moving to 4 cities is very inspiring. That let me know if you did it 4 times, then I can at least do it once. I been building myself up for this move for the past few years. I had to make sure everything were aligned until I move that move. Build myself up financially because more than likely. The city I move to, I won't have any family at. I'm just blessed by GOD that I have a great personality and good social skills, so I can make friends like it's nothing. I graduated from college last year. That was the last task I had to complete. So hitting that road for the next chapter is next. Props for the advice, fam ✊
I live close to Chattanooga but not close enough. Being a streamer, I would probably never consider moving out of Chattanooga if I moved there. No way you are getting internet speeds that good anywhere else.😂

This is a big reason people leave their hometown.

@@KesGaming Lol I agree, Chattanooga do have if not the best internet connections in the country. Our internet hardly ever lag.
