Love your build man looks so fun. Just wanted to know where you got your body panels from? Keep up the great videos!
Body panels are unfortunately no longer available (the grp bits). The carbon fibre panels are all cut and made by me from a flat CF sheet.
@@davebgsi bugger, planning on making a locost myself and haven't been able to find any panels that look as good as yours. Getting a front "bumper" I guess you could call it that looks good is hard haha.
Did you get this as a kit or did you follow the bible of these? (Build Your Own Sports Car for as Little as 250 Pounds: And Race it!)
@@Tasijoe I bought it with a zetec in as a 'roller', no IVA etc. I completed the build and then changed pretty much everything on the car to make it what it is now. Lol. The original build was based on the £250 book though. I don't have a project thread on piston heads (search for Ron Champion Locost).

At the moment my old man and I are making the second ever produced of one these ( imgur.com/a/OuVKA ), which is an atom inspired rear engine death trap but the more and more I see of your toy I get more and more envious and want one haha.
Would like to have a chat Dave, as I’m at similar power but need some inspiration on rear diff and axle and maybe even gearbox, difference is I’m using a Audi 1.8t engine. I do like the effort and the outcome of your car mate. Pleasure to watch the videos.
I use an atlas axle and quaife lsd. The atlas obviously isn't ideal in terms of weight but escort rally cars with 500bhp use them so I figure I should be OK 😁
Love the car, I’m building a locost with a K20A lump.. can’t wait to get it on the round! What size wheels are you running ? they look nice

Mate kit cars are cool. My dad has a 1.7L ford zetec-se. But are your seats comfortable on long long drives out??

The type is Locost. However try googling GBS sports cars. They do international shipping.
@@davebgsi thank you! What would be the best seven type kits for hard track driving? It is almost impossible to register it here for road use so it would be an exclusive track car, I guess the mx5 sdv isn't the best right? Sorry for asking too many questions, nobody here has a clue😅

I want a sonic seven kit car, I have the focus it requires as a donar, I think I'd rather keep it naturally aspirated for better reliability, ain't got time for overpowered, underweight and out of sync cars that blow up everytime you hit the tarmac.
Probably a good idea. NA is the way forward

We met at the GBS cars and coffee back in March. Your year is a familiar story to mine; battling over heating and eventually spun bearing. Looking forward to what you've got in store for 2019.

Done! Everyone thinks sticking a turbo on a kitcar is so easy. But then it always overheats or has heating issues, then the brakes aren't good enough, then the drivetrain etc. It's a long road to get it 👌👌
