      Yoda actually uses Object > Subject > Verb not Subject > Object > Verb: Bread, I like. Not "I bread, like."

    These exact mistakes apply to Japanese, too, if you just switch some of the small details.

      When I first started learning Korean, I tried to understand their grammar first so I learned about basic Subject-Object-Predicate and particles which are used. Then I moved on with memorizing as many as vocabularies as I can. After those steps all I do was just a series of watching variety shows, talk shows, and dramas (the Return of Superman helps so much because they type in the words the kids are trying to say, hence I know how a certain word is written in Korean). Oh, if you're a fangirl, try to read and translate the captions/texts that are written by the artists, it quite helps you to get the hang of it too

    Word order and particles were easy for me because I learned Japanese first. There are so many similar grammar points, but I find that things actually make more sense in Korean most of the time as opposed to Japanese. My biggest struggle is spelling because hiragana and katakana are much easier to relate to English pronunciation than Hangul. If I hear a word in Japanese I know exactly how it’s spelled. But I’m often confused on which character goes with which syllable when trying to figure out the spelling in Korean.

    but if you put markers "correctly", even though you make the order wrong, Koreans can understand you :)
    But of course, it is much better to know the order to use it hahaha

    I'm really having a problem at word order, but sometimes I can do it.
    I'm really having a problem in particles too! I don't know what to put in other words because I'm really not good at english, (I'm from philippines) that's why sometimes I'm having a problem with it.

    Billy , I would like to ask ,I'm learning Korean for almost 2 years.I have lot of sources and some of it are kpop song lyrics in hangul characters with english translations and romanizations , and some of their lyrics doesn't follow the S-O-V pattern ,I'm a little bit confuse in how to apply these. And some of the song lyrics uses different verb endings like deo , geo and more . Maybe can you make video for more examples of korean verb endings and korean expressions like (OMG in english ) , type of Korean expressions /words/phrases without English translations .KOMAPSEUMNIDA .

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I'd recommend avoiding romanized Korean (such as writing Korean with English letters), since it'll be difficult to learn about grammar with them, and it will be difficult to learn correct pronunciation that way. It'd be best to learn the Korean alphabet and to only use that for studying Korean - and fortunately it only takes a few hours to learn the basics of the alphabet. :)

    There is a german/korean school in my city. www.hanhag.de/
    They say that '한글 학교' means 'korean school'
    Isn't it 한국학교 ? How can native koreans be wrong with it ? I don't get it.
    Is it 한국학교 or 한글 학교 ?

    • @GoBillyKorean
      @GoBillyKorean  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's because those schools are for helping people to learn Korean (and the written language), beginning with 한글.

    • @TheDrdressup
      @TheDrdressup 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      "한국학교" would just mean "korea school" anyway, because "한국" just means korea the country. 한국어 is the language.

    • @KoreanLetsGo
      @KoreanLetsGo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      한글 = korean alphabet/language
      한국 = korea (country)
      한국어 = korean (language)
      한국인 = korean (person)
