We are at the beginning of this - millions will be homeless soon enough. The middle class no longer exists when rent is $3,000+, gas is $4.30 per gallon and groceries double in cost weekly....

With the economy as it is, Americans need to go back to healthy forms of communal living. Single parents especially, can organize together to help each other with housing, child care, cleaning, cooking, etc. That's what communities can do for one another. Unfortunately, most people don't even know their neighbors anymore and many families are far away from one another.

@@jackwilson8051 it does work. I dont know what you think its supposed to do but its not supposed to encourage contractors from this or that. Its purpose is to prevent homelessness and provide stability to a regional economy. Of course when a regions government capitulates to large corporations whereby an influx of high salary professionals is planned to displace the existing working class people then rent control is removed and the latter group becomes disposable and left without consideration.
I saw this happen in Cambridge Massachusetts where rent control existed and there was a vibrant small town feel and a diverse population ranging from Harvard students and academics and various types of professionals to blue class warehouse and factory workers etc... Then rent control was removed and rents began to increase dramatically over the next years. I wasnt really aware of these things til later and I went to Central Square after not having been there in a while and I saw so many homeless people in the square sitting in groups at every bus stop and every hundred feet there was another bunch.. Before there would be one or two homeless people who were known as characters who had weird outfits and colorful bikes etc... but after RC was removed I saw people who I knew had apartments a year or less before. It was truly sad. I saw one woman who I recognized as a friends neighbor. She was so weathered and defeated looking. Anyway it turned out that Microsoft, and several biotech firms were building sites in the area and their workforce are among the highest earning in the world so landlords saw fit to trample over the people who had been paying their mortgages and taxes and reach for the bigger bucks. I wonder if they thought it was worth it.. Im sure theyre complaining now about something.

Heartbreaking. I hope someone can help them with a 3 months rent and food to be able to rent something.
There should never be a raise on the rent unless major work are done on the appartement or building that serve the renters... 😒
Also there should be a time limit to move if you can not afford the new rent, like 6 months. It is hard when you dont have a car to find another work, when you have no family in the state/country and when you have children because they will also need change their school...
    Law should change about this!

P *1 of 4* Cities can eliminate homeless tent cities by replacing them with *Homeless Shelter Villages* [HSV] using _Pallet Shelter's_ existing *Homeless Shelter Village* [HSV] components. The _Community Room_ sells for $37,000 and serves as a shared laundry room, restaurant, *child daycare center,* and addiction services center. The _Bathroom_ cost $35,000 and the _Services Office_ costs $9,000. So for only $81,000 a city can establish a *Homeless Shelter Village* [HSV]. The 10'X10' *Camping Cube Sport Pop Up Tent* costs only $120 provides protection from the elements; for two people and their belongings.

P *4 of 4* The homeless can simply move the tents they are using now into the homeless-village and the RVs are assigned a parking space. *Or the **_Shelter 100,_** provided by FEMA,* is a $9,500 shelter that is climate controlled, built in one hour, is 100 sq. ft., and uses a folding bunk system to house up to four beds. *_Pallet Shelter's_* private sleeping cabins offer *security* and durability. Which addresses the concerns of the homeless who reject the restrictions of “bed-only” homeless-shelters; for only one night.

I have a Girlfriend I grew up with well, Her Mother also a Government Worker, has worked for the New York Housing Authority & Los Angeles Housing Authority for a total of 30 yrs. She was in a high position and now has retired. I have called several Women's Shelters to tell them how the immediate Application process to immediately get Women like this one in to affordable Housing works. She doesn't have to make 2 and 1\2 times the rent. They accept all Veterans, everyone doesn't know how to get these beautiful Apts.. NO ONE HAS EVER CALLED ME BACK. The hate of the neighbor has grown tremendously here in America. People have become slaves to the spoils, to those with authority and power. I became homeless after the amputation of my feet and I was faced with nothing more but judgement, then I seen the lost and the just cast out. I came to know the truth about compassion, mercy and kindness. I spoke and prayed to God, pleading that I don’t become like these heartless people. I separated myself from those buildings who call themselves a church, I seen how they used the poor and needy for their evil gains. I was in delray Beach, and Boca Raton Florida. I witnessed many things from 2004 to 2008. I seen the poor and needy cry, pleaded and beg for mercy. Well I now have truth for you. GOD the almighty has heard your cries, I have seen GOD remove many of them from off the face of this earth. Those so called man of God can’t even get a drink of water, and they are silent in their grave. No one hears their plead not even God. God is the giver of the earth, the giver of all things. This is the truth, the grave will be the end for many God gives life and He can take it. In 2020 and 2022 we have seen the almighty God remove and shut things up. All this unjust judgement, hate to the neighbor is going to be judged by the creator the righteous God who is a righteous judge. Look what Jesus Christ said, He came for the poor, the needy those who have been cast out. Look they killed Jesus Christ do you not know they will kill you. Don’t go to them for a drink of water or you will become their slave

P *2 of 4* Cities are spending millions of dollars to open and run homeless bed shelters; that the homeless reject due to the many restrictions and lack of security. _Pallet Shelter's_ two person _Shelter 64_ cost only $7,000 and provides a dignified, secure sleeping base of operation. So for only $201,000 [$120 tents] a city can establish and run a *Homeless Shelter Village* with 1000 shelters that can accommodate 2,000 people: 2 beds and belongings per 10'X10' tent.

Just as a big problem in America today and it will only get worse if we continue to build houses that people cannot afford. Zoning in cities controls the size of the house number of windows and number of bathrooms. Economical housing should be exempt from zoning and property tax. Small houses can be built quite attractive today, they cost less than materials and they are more ecological and economically sound. Tear down these giant houses and build something for 200 million Americans.

rent control is needed. it might seem anticapitalist or unamerican to limit what a property owner can charge but so what. It should be considered unamerican to raise a rent more than the rate of inflation which is about 8 -14%... ive seen people charged 60% more upon lease renewal and now this lady says her rent went up from 1800 to 3500? THAT should be considered unamerican and the person responsible should be ashamed. Govt is supposed to protect the interest of citizens. It seems that the government asssumed that Florida becoming a preferred destination for its freedoms was good and nothing need be done but in fact rent control should have been established at least for long time florida residents. The greed of property owners needs to be checked.
