What I liked about Zayne's card was how it had a little of everything. It was extremely passionate, very spontaneous mixed with desperation and vulnerability. The kindle moment was kinda abrupt though. The way Zayne asked "Are you afraid of me?" made me realise that he was in fact very aware of what he was doing and was hoping that the MC won't be scared off by his sudden possessiveness. In a way, it was also Zayne trusting MC so much so as to show this side of his. Had she tried to stop him, he would have stopped but MC was quite intrigued and very into this unrestrained side of Zayne. Then again later when his evol is going out of control, he asks, "Will you hate me for it?" This was again Zayne being vulnerable and pretty rational where he is asking for consent, making sure MC wants to go all the way in. Once she consents, he continues. I do feel like the lines of consent was a little blurred especially with how MC didn't inform him beforehand that it was a liquor filled chocolate. But later in the Kindled, Zayne says that he's breaking his rule of never touching alcohol just for the MC which makes me think that he knew it before he ate the chocolate, perhaps? Still, I wish the story made it explicitly clear that Zayne was not completely intoxicated when they are doing the deed, which I think he wasn't. He did take the call, checked the email and responded in his usual manner. So, it makes me wonder whether he was acting more drunk than he actually was. Like, roleplaying to show this side of himself to the MC. Still, i wish the story didn't leave us guessing.
Zayne was intoxicated. Some people when drunk can have moments of clarity especially when its about important things. Work is important to Zayne so it's not surprising he sobers for a bit, enough to answer the work call. His Evol losing control is proof of him not having a firm grip on his mind.
@@ys8488kh I just wish the story made it completely clear whether he was intoxicated or not till the end. I just don't know how to feel about it with how things escalated when in Drunken Intimacy, when the MC was drunk, he was a gentleman and took care of her. I feel like in this card, the MC was trying to stop him at the beginning but then gave in when Zayne pursued her like that with such intensity. When they were on the sofa and MC was trying to wipe him off, the MC did say that he seemed to be sobering up so, I am just still hoping that he wasn't completely intoxicated. I know it's fictional and all but still dub con is just something that doesn't sit right with me.

He had some clarity then to know that perhaps his advances were not welcomed and he was clearly giving her a way out there. MC not only chose not to push him away but she encouraged him by touching his lips. We've seen from a number of Zayne's memories that she'd do this when she wants them to be intimate so to me, she's already given her consent there.
They changed one of Sylus' lines in his English version so there would be 100% consent for the western audience. That's why it's strange to me that they didn't make the consent here more explicit. Why edit Sylus to be more palatable to western views on consent and not edit Zayne's?
I agree with you. In the beginning MC says she sometimes acts more drunk than she is so that Zayne takes good care of her. I think Zayne might be a little bit tipsy from the chocolate but mainly took a page from MC's book. I think the chocolate made him loosen up a little, just enough to consider if him always being rational is really worth it, and try a different route. It was his "excuse" to be more open and vulnerable towards MC.
You know what's missing? The afterglow. Holding each other afterwards. Seeing this would have made perfect. Btw, it was fun watching this live yesterday. :) Happy new year! :)
Riiiigggghhht!!! They cuddled at the end of Hidden Motive, so I really was expecting them to at the of this card as well. Still a wonderful memory and I’m glad I have it! Shall be watching it on repeat all day! 😂 I love this man so much!!! ❤
Tbf to MC, she didn't purposely hide the fact that there was alcohol. Its like saying how dare she give him chocolate he is allergic! When he didnt tell her he was allergic. MC definitely wasnt thinking he would get drunk on the chocolate, she even said as much. Everything that happened was a happy accident lol. Afterwards she wanted to tease him a little, but it was Zayne who initiated all of the sexy moments. And then the game specifically tells us he is sobering up (even added a work call) to tell us he isnt flat out drunk and generally knows what he is doing before going crazy on MC.
