- “We’re chasing something that I’ve never seen before.” It’s raining, you climb on board a boat, and it takes you into the middle of nowhere. At night. Soli Bailey’s done a lot of Maps trips, but never one quite like this - to a surf zone only recently opened to any kind of access, let alone to a bunch of frothing surfers. Early next morning, after battling a couple of very big fish, the crew arrive off an island that looks weirdly unlike any you’ve seen - like a cold land in tropical warm water. Explorer Matt knows there’s at least one wave here, but suspects there might be many more, rookie superstar Sophie McCullough isn’t quite sure what’s going on till she sees the first wave, and Ian Crane’s just stoked to be on a boat trip. “It’s the best way to go surfing,” he claims. Beautiful, thank you for sharing. I used to get so jealous watching things like this when I was young and poor. Now that I'm old and poor, I appreciate that someone gets to do this, and am grateful for the opportunity to enjoy such adventures vicariously. Thank you.
I think it is funny that their idea of "fun waves" is pumping glassy 6 foot barrels that go for 100 mts. which would be the waves of our lives for us mere mortals.

Surfed there on a sailboat trip, in 81. Stayed five days and it pumped for four of them. Didn’t want to leave. But, I wasn’t the captain. Thank you, for not revealing the location.
Every episode of this series makes me daydream about doing something like this one day!! Fav surf series ever!!
