My husband and I lived in a caravan for just over a year, we loved it, we sold our house and got rid of all the stress and decluttered all the stuff we had built up over the years, it was as if a weight was lifted from us both, on our site you had to be off for 2 weeks a year, so we just went on holiday and visited family in that time, although we lost alot of money buy selling a brand new van after just 1 year ( due to unforeseen circumstances ) we always look back on it and say how much we loved the life style and would most definitely do it again, better than paying thousands in rent to somebody for something you don't own.
We also veggie garden. Just brought a pressure canner because the freezer is full and don't want to worry about another freezer and power outages. Like your decor and your container garden. And just subscribed to your channel.
You have a very interesting story, especially as a lot of people are looking to downsize these days. And what a great result from your garden, you've inspired me to get on with mine. There are a lot of things that can be grown in winter also i believe, especially the brasicas. Love your positive attitude. All the best.
As a fellow Caravan owner don’t worry about the negatives. There are upsides and downsides to everything in life the more important thing is when you make those choices you understand what those upsides and downsides are. Personally I love my caravan and wouldn’t change it for the world
You have done brilliantly with the fruit and veg. I do container gardening but nothing as successful as you. You don't see problems you see solutions. That makes you inspirational. Best wishes to you and your wife.
Thanks Ivan for the great info', you and Ginny have done really well for yourselves since you were forced to move for no good reason and now you're living in a beautiful place. Have a great week. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Negative comments usually come from people comparing home ownership with mobile home ownership. They seem to have no concept that it isn't a choice between mobile home or brick built house but a choice between renting someone else's property or owning their own van. I would never willingly pay someone else's mortgage for them and have the uncertainty of being thrown out at any time. I would do exactly as you have done and be the master of my own destiny every time. Well done to both of you.
Loving the channel, have got our own van and grow at home too..would rather live in the van lol...i see you're freezing in freezer bags, i bought a food sealer this yr, it sucks the air out and saves loads of room, especially as space limited in a van, i would recommend one, best £20 ive spent..👍..all the best..
I’m made up for you and your wife Ivan, I think you’ve done fantastic in what must have been very stressful times for you both. You know exactly what you need to do and I’m happy you’ve achieved what you have
Hi Ivan you have done amazing considering the situation you were in through no fault of your own. Don’t worry about the negative folks they are likely like that in life…you have problem solved the heating I think the panel heaters that can be timed is perfect to keep the cost down great video as usual….
It seems to m that you have picked yourself up from what some might call a personal disaster by being evicted due to no fault of your own. Everything you have done has been positive and aimed at improving your lot. That's what I call initiative, stop moaning, taking stock of your situation and taking positive steps to maintain comfortable living. Well done you, a lot of people would do well to take a page out of your book, think positively and get on with it. Keep it up you are doing well
I absolutely loved living in my static caravan … you have done brilliant in your van ….you are doing what suits you , plain and simple , enjoying your life , ❤your both channels, like how you aim your gardening skills at a normal level …. Which is affordable!!
i cant see why they say negative things .i think you and her in doors .have done bloody well .im behind you one hundred per cemt .god bless ya both. love the channel
I don’t think you would like van life Ivan as you have no outdoor space of your own to do gardening plus it gets boring being stuck in a small place . You may see different things but I think you’re better off being static and having that option of growing food. Gardening is a big part of your life and gives you something to do, you’d miss the pleasure of nurturing those plants . Keep the caravan videos coming . Have you any ideas what you’re going to grow over the winter at the caravan?
I’ve got a few bits in containers growing but the slugs are a constant pain , they have virtually destroyed my cabbages and Pak Choi and I can’t use pest control has we have a family dog . It would be very much appreciated if you have any ideas how to keep these pesky blighters at bay
oh god what a shame to give that up .thats real sad .but i have to say your good at it so fair play .i wont say every cloud has a silver line in .my silver line is full of rain. its been a hard year weather wise .lets hope we get a better year in 25 best to you .
Hi there I'm a bit confused you said in a earlier video you had started renting a property for the winter ☃️ and yet you are still in the caravan why haven't you moved in the other property for winter to be warmer
Don't take any notice of the negative nay sayers...they love to point out what everyone does 'wrong' but I bet they do nowt themselves! I think you and your wife have made a bad situation that you found yourselves in - into a positive one. You are careful and consider all the options. Keep on keeping on and you will be fine.
I just enquired at a site near me it's a beautiful site and they said 8 months is 3250 which is 102 a week plus the cost of caravan I know my friend was paying about 50 pound a week gone up in last few years so u said you paying 3 thousand .how long is your stay 8 months,?
Fair play for growing your own veg but its a hard slog and a dozen ripe tomatoes at any one time will be hard to consume unless you add more processes to the mix (Jar, chutney etc). I like your mindset but to grow your own veg for total consumption without waste is pure folly. I love the idea to be self sufficient but the hardship involved in the process, and the figures just don't add up...
Great fruit and veg. And another interesting video too😊

Owning and living in your own home is the best but this is a good option for those who cant do that.
Great stuff Ivan! 👍

To be honest you are almost there convincing me about moving into a caravan…it’s sounds a lot cheaper than running a house…😊
I think it’s lovely to be able to live in a caravan. What park are you on?
MOST PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR CHEAP WAYS OF LIVING NOWADAYS MYSELF INCLUDED (ALTHOUGH I STILL LIKE A BEER) 😊, KEEP YOUR TIPS COMING.

Are you able to fit solar panels to the van? Possibly linked to leisure batteries?
