Pac-Land (Arcade) - Gameplay (100 Rounds)

Like many Arcade games of that era, Pac-Land never ends: the first 16 Rounds (from 1 to 16) are "introductory", but the second 16 Rounds (from 17 to 32) loop forever, with a slight increase in difficulty.
Because of that, I wasn't sure where to stop this video, so I decided to see if I could overflow (or at least rollback) something. The first candidate was the score, but it kept on counting just fine even after I reached one million points. The Round number, instead, goes from 99 to 0, so that's where I stopped. I guess it's a mere display issue, though, it probably keeps on counting just fine as well (even if behind the scenes), but I didn't feel like playing for 256 Rounds just to test this theory.
So here it is, 100 Rounds of Pac-Land, I hope you have 75 minutes to waste.

Ok I watched upto round 52! Did you know that you can push back on some of the hydrants, tree stumps and cactuses for bonus items? I remember a hat that gives you points when a baby ghost gets dropped on it and temporary invincibility. I grew up in a small seaside town that had this in the arcade in a stand up cabinet, I think the furthest I got was trip 6, I never got to the pineapples. 😃

Pretty long playthrough, I'm guessing this game goes on forever, I notice the levels are the same after trip 7 or 8, nothing really new after that..

No, it doesn't. Most arcade games of that era just loop infinitely

The Turbographx-16/PC Engine version does, after beating round 32. The original arcade game does not.

@@nineko Well, do you know that if you eat the 5 ghosts in an order that has Sue eaten last, you’d get a bonus item that resets your timer and gives you bonus points?
