    Hello everyone, welcome to my channel. Like so many others, my lifestyle changed due to the pandemic.
    Before the pandemic, my families lives had become so hectic & busy that there never seemed to be a good time to travel anymore. Somewhere along the line we realized that our last vacation was in 2011. We decided that it was time we made some travel plans.
    Then the pandemic hit! I no longer wanted to travel by plane or stay in a hotel. We decided that a bettter and safer alternative would be to travel in our own vehicle, one that we could also sleep in, cook our own meals in, vacation in. The rest is history!
    However, the RV shopping process is not easy and required a lot of research. I want to share what I have learned along with my ongoing experiences and adventures through my channel which offers:
    RV tours / walkthroughs
    Camping destinations
    Hiking
    RV modifications & DIYs
    RV Cooking
    And much more…..
    So I invite you to come along with me on this ongoing RV journey.

    Roadtrek must still have a metric ton of that cherry colored wood laying around. They’ve been installing that look for as long as I can remember. It’s got a warm look. The downside is it may make the coach feel/look smaller compared to the lighter cabinets. I kind of dig it. Feels like a classic yacht .

      I agree that it had a classic feel to it and it did still feel spacious inside. Thanks for watching!

      On the other hand, Roadtrek is one of the best at somehow squeezing a few extra cubic inches of space out of nowhere. If you have very long legs, you can extend the bathroom doors and still lock them. Even their earlier models had one of the most clever systems I've ever seen: there were foldout panels built into the bathroom. The toilet was on one side with the sink on the other. The walls folded out across the center hallway to close it off from both sides so you had a full size bathroom WITH stand-up shower in a class B less than 190' long. It was the only model of its kind with this feature at the time. It looked like it offered 50% more space than rival class B brands. And better, the foldout panels doubled as doors for privacy because the front passenger seat could be attached to an optional 3rd seat behind it. This turned it into a long single bed and could comfortably sleep three adults. Roadtrek's designers were mad scientists...

    • @cwheremonster8870
      @cwheremonster8870 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s such a great point. What Roadtrek was doing on the Chevy chassis a few years back, with the expanding center aisle shower was really clever. People love a shirt van, I get it. Heck so do I.. the notion of having something under 21 feet has always been the standard with many B enthusiasts for obvious reasons. Many of the consumers demand a wet bath in these rigs, and we end of with this hinge floor to ceiling cabinet that cuts the rig in half, kills storage, and covers windows/walls & lighting. You can still have a shower and toilet without the massive obstruction.. but I believe the average first time consumer lives the idea of a dedicated bathroom. I get it. I guess I just love the different floor plans we are starting to see pop up. I don’t want or need to see the 10th different version of a Travato G or Nova C.. I’m at the point where even I’m a small space I’d like to see some natural light with a space to sit that’s not the d@mn drivers seat I was forced to spin around. Meh.. I’m rambling.

      Roadtrek's management is still stuck in the '80s with its dark colors interiors. The "all new" 2022 models looks the same as the "old" models.

    We just seen the 2023 Roadtrek Play and fell in love with this. Love the quality of the wood work and the two burner stove top. Only thing I didn’t like was the hard rear seat/bed cushions other than that I couldn’t find anything I didn’t like.

      Yes, I agree it should be the same height. I have 2022 Zion and the flip up countertop does not work for anything practical. Too low and stuff can fall off of three sides. The only thing I found that half works is a large plastic tray with high & wide sides. I tried to block the 4-5" open back at the door side but it is impossible to do. I would like my husband to add a bigger countertop like he did in our Class C.

  • @shitloveaduck
    @shitloveaduck ปีที่แล้ว

    You REALLY liked the layout on this one!! Too bad it’s on the ProMaster chassis,,,, haha. On a Mercedes 4x4,,,, if they made an extended one,,, it would be perfect. Still be very nice on the rwd extended Mercedes. I agree that there was a lot of room. I would modify one of those supports for the cushions that make the bed a king size. It would become a middle end table between the twin beds. It would have storage for a C-PAP machine (if necessary) and your electronic devices as they have the plugs, but no real handy storage for these items.
    Now you can lift the ProMaster units up to 3” so the rear overhang isn’t such an issue. I would prefer the 30 amp plug be mounted inset to the rear of the driver’s side of the van and not all cheesy like on the rear bumper. All easy enough modifications for a handy owner. This works much better than when the beds are midway in the van and the bathroom is in the rear. I would definitely always prefer the offset of space in the bathroom for ALL of the storage.
    Thanks for sharing!

I love all the storage underneath the twin bed setup that the Chase has, but it would be an absolutely perfect RV by adding that tent on top! Another better option would be to take that sink out. @dawn7612 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have the Zion model 2022.
      The roll up screens are a pain and take up so much space and are glued in place. (Dumb). I would love a real opening side door. The slider is sooo hard to open even after two weeks of regular use. One single door like we had in our Class C would have been perfect. My arthritic hand have trouble opening it. My husband does too and he is strong.
      The microwave is really tiny. You may not get a convection in there.
      The bathroom toilet lid will not stay up at all. I had to use Velcro to make it stay up. Dumb placement, it is angled on back wall. What else do you want to know?

      We just bought 2022-2023 Zion weeks ago only because it was cheaper than the other brands. I would have rather bought one of the others brands. I hate the bathroom doors and a bunch of other things. The toilet seat will not stay up. Even a woman cannot sit fast enough before the seat fall. I had to install Velcro to hold it up. This is because the toilet is turned on an angle and the lid hits the wall before it goes up fully. There is no switch off on the shower wand. The hot water is never hot unless you run the water down the drain for how long? Hard closing and opening the side door. Hard to open the floor drawers. You have to use two hands to open! It does not seem to be insulated. The over head storage compartment gets so hot.
      Also the computer for checking tanks, etc is lame. It only registers 33% and 67% for the tanks. The batteries said Critically Low after a whole day in the full sun and no one in the coach and the temp set at 100° since we were away all day from the coach we didn't want the air coming on.
      What else do you want to know? Don't ask the sales person.

      I almost never see rigs (from any major manufacturer) that has a year date matching the date of model/construction. Most manufacturers are making large orders 9-12 months in advance, in bulk. They sit in storage as the coaches are built out. With the delay in supply lines, some are even sitting longer. The ‘22 Rams will likely be built and sold as ‘23s. Every once in a while, you might get lucky. I just haven’t seen it.
