Thanks for the help.😊
No problem 😊
Did you take the engine out? Doesn’t look like
You did. I have an 2008 3.8l and looking to tackle this by myself..
Any advice?
No, the engine was in the jeep . I pulled the transmission, that’s gonna be your best bet. I have a video on removing the transmission if you’re interested in checking it out I had the transmission out because it was being replaced and I did the rear main seal while I was in there
Awesome. My 2011 manual is leaking oil right at the bell housing. Thinking it’s either the rear main, the upper oil pan gasket, or both… also will need a new trans in the new future, but that’ll have to wait
Check the intake manifold gaskets as well. The lower manifold gasket will leak oil down the bell housing as well
Where can I get the bolts for the rear main? 2 of mine apparently came out. Found out at my last oil change. The ones remaining have '86' on them.
I’d take one of the remaining bolts to your local hardware store and match them up! Those numbers should be the hardness of the bolt so be sure you get the same length, thread pitch, and hardness or “grade” bolt
What if I didn’t mark it?
3 ugga duggas. My man
The only real way to measure how tight something is!
I use the ugga dugga method more than I'd like to admit 😅
