- For pastors, criticism comes with the job. It's a reality for nearly everyone in ministry, especially those preaching the whole counsel of God. So how should pastors, or any Christian for that matter, handle the criticism that's sure to come? What do you say when someone accuses you of unbiblical teaching, or unfairly maligns your character? John MacArthur has learned more than a few lessons on how to respond to the critics throughout his 53 years of pastoral ministry. There have been lots of public critiques of his theology. And plenty have found something negative to say about his personality, tone, and leadership. This episode draws out lessons on handling criticism from his life, particularly a time in the late 80s when MacArthur travelled to Limerick, Pennsylvania to defend himself against charges of heresy.

The Limerick recordings are worth listening to! I was there and found John to be so gracious and kind in answering his critics , Sorry he had to go through that evaluation!

I think sometimes on podcast they tend to want the music but the music can be a distraction so I will forget to listen to the person that is actually ministering.

One thing I’ve noticed about MACARTHUR is he dosent bend to the secular world as some “Christians” get sucked into.
If people are still hung up on the blood issue they obviously are not listening or comprehending what Dr. MACARTHUR is saying.
John is an awesome teacher. Every scripture We learn more about our Father's character. Every day I learn and grow. Into the child of MY Father's KINGDOM of Heaven. Court of Heaven. I cannot be perfect.I can not save myself But By JESUS.

The narrator and background music is very distracting and frankly doesn’t belong in TMS’s podcasts or sermons. I’m pretty disappointed with this music.

MacArthur is right on the money about the blood of Christ and salvation.
It’s the death & resurrection of Christ that saves not the blood. Christ needed to die and resurrect, not just bleed.

The hipster music will sound laughably dated in 3 years. The desire to appeal to the world is embarrassing and very un-MacArthur like..

Wasn't there a controversy over JMac's view of the eternal sonship of Christ with Trinitarian implications, to be corrected later by JMac? Any back story?

romans 5;9 says "Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." - yes, we will be saved from wrath... this verse talks about ounishment for sins, not about conscious, rebelious, deliberate taking the mark of the beast - the Bible is warning us against... if you meant that then it is YOU who are delusional...

@@burtcooper612 the fact that God is sovereign does not mean automatically that we can repent whatever we do. the Bible talks about people who commit sin unto death and that we are not supposed to pray for them : "If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it." 1 john 5;16 - so there is a sin unto death and there is no point in praying for it. secondly, the Bible warns us about the mark of the beast so that we would not take it... and the Bible is very clear that those who will take it will end up in lake of fire FOR EVER...so there is nothing then they can do... so if you claim you can repent after you have taken the mark of the beast then it is a lie and a satanic deception against what the Bible says...so that shows macarthur as a dangerous wolf and deceiver...
our opinion is worthless. what the Bible says is of utmost importance and truth. nothing else matters.
rev 14:10-11 "The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."
so you CANNOT repent after having taken the mark of the beast...
