Sir Robert Grant knew the power of those in authority as he was the Governor of Bombay in the service of East india Company. He was a very social minded person and highly devout Evangelical Christian and very much loved by the people as worked for them...and He knew the authority and Power of the king of kings, The Lord Jesus Christ....in comparison to the power he wielded. And he wrote the Hymn in adoration of the Most High God knowing fully the Greatness of God. He saw the plight of the people and asked for a medical institution to be built in 1838 , He worked for it and when the approval came he had died just 4 days before. The medical College came into existence in1845 and in his honour the Medical college was named Grant Medical College by the public. It is the second oldest Medical College in india and still going strong. I feel the authority of God when i sing or hear or play this hymn on my instrument.
I felt so strong in my spirit 2 years ago to sing this song. It's 1st song in the Hymn Book & I was making up my own tune. Today, I was in Prayer Mtg @ my Church in Toronto Canada & as I was waiting for my folks, I decided open TH-cam to O Worship The King I spent 1 hour listening over & over I cried. Lord I LOVE U❤ Hear the cries of my heart. Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem & Shalom to all Bless Israel USA Canada Britain India Africa China Russia Ukraine Germany Japan Philippines N&S Korea Pakistan Middle East South America etc etc The Whole World to know Christ for Salvation ..Make America Great yes Gteat again & Mr Trump USA & Mr Poilivere Canada & Mr Netanyahu ❤🎉❤❤
What a beautiful rendition of a lovely hymn & a glorious descant on the last verse. These wonderful anthems simply must not be lost to future generations! I'm a joint music ministry leader in our Catholic parish & we are slowly bringing them back to our services. Our pianists are all 16 & under - they LOVE to play them! Long may it continue. Thanks for posting & God Bless 🙏❤
A wonderful hymn, however, could you please re-record it with the correct lyrics, e.g. The earth with its store... , not this earth... and with the correct tune at the end. Looking forward to hearing it. God bless you
Hi June, we rarely record the songs ourselves. Instead we try to find the best version which will be suitable for congregations to sing along with. In this case, your complaints need to be addressed to the Choir of St Paul's Cathedral, who recorded this version. 😊
