it was fairly easy actually; I've done iPhone screens in the past and this seemed super complicated until I actually dove into it. as long as you have the necessary tools and a steady hand it's pretty easy and straightforward.
I had the same question? He never showed a new screen. It was like he took out parts and turned around to put it back together. There were still patrst connected he never removed?
No. He has a point it's a misleading video title. Most of them for N20U are like this. These are frame replacement, frame also happens to have the screen attached. Look for screen replacement NO FRAME to see how the screen replacement is done completely different process to remove and apply the OLED. And I think all these videos should be called frame replacement instead or at the very least specify frame in the title of the video many don't mention it anywhere at all
It's because it's a frame replacement not a screen replacement. These video titles don't specify which and its irritating. You can actually replace just the screen a keep the old frame, it's a completely different process and you will apply the OLED screen directly. Search 'no frame' with screen replacement you'll see. Majority of the videos say screen replacement when in fact they are frame replacements that come with a screen. They don't even specify the fact that the frame is being replaced in the title. Super irritating
great video how to know if the screen replacement is authentic or fake?? I'm getting my phone fixed tomorrow and don't know how to tell the difference thank you
There’s no fakes out there. The only thing is it could be refurbished, but that’s just the glass. Either way the parts are very expensive. So if they’re under $300 for the repair it’s somehow aftermarket or a Samsung Repair center.
@@RealWorldReviewin my country I found one online (on Lazada) for 220 USD converted (14.5k Php to be exact). I asked our local Samsung service center for a price on a screen replacement and they charge 279 USD (16k php) 😭

You're not doing just digitizer(glass) on these like an old s3 lol you can with proper machines but at that point you might as well buy a new phone if you're not doing these every day. Trust me I wish it were like the old days

there were some steps/screws that you missed in the video and I messed up my board a little in doing so but nothing is wrong with the phone as of right now it powers on has sound, screen is fully functioning and the s pen is even synced. phone is back to 100% basically, other than one little spot on the board. I used gorilla glue clear grip waterproof adhesive. worked great dried in minutes. still left for an hour to dry. and cleaned up the adhesive and put it back in my case.. was pretty detailed video, just missed a step or two and a couple screws. Thanks for this video it was very helpful. Those screws kicked my butt, had two strip on me, everything else went smoothly, I didn't reuse the s pen strip because it actually cracked when I removed it but my s pen synced fine anyways. I added a few drops of isopropyl to help remove the battery.
How would you source / find out screens that are perfectly 1-1 to the original screen from the manufacturer? Because im scared to purchase poor quality screens from online.
I did the replacement and it all works except I can't save any new photos or notes to my phone. I use the Notes app a lot and if I update a note it disappears

I have a new Note 20 Ultra 5G that is in perfect condition but network locked. I have another Note 20 Ultra 5G that has a cracked front screen that is active and unlocked. Is the IMEI on the logic board only? Can I take the logic board out of the locked one and put the one from the cracked screen one and leave all other parts in the locked one and will that switch it so I will have a working phone with the unlocked IMEI in the new unbroken case?
Suggestion for getting the screws out. I've tried the standard size screwdriver as well as others. As well as some of the basics; rubber band and glue trick but they just won't budge, they aren't stripped either. 5/18 came out easy and the rest are loctited in pretty good.

Is there would be any changes after changing the screen? I mean is the phone works perfectly like nothing happened? :) thanks my english is not good enough!!!
For the price, they’re $15-$20 and good to just own. But I guess a hear dryer would work, but might not heat up the adhesive how you’d like . Just don’t use an oven lol
Might want to consult an eye doctor. You and the others that fail to see the damaged screen in the beginning, and the fixed one at that end. All you're doing is just boosting engagement
So basically you're replacing the whole shell of the phone, not just the front screen. The replacement screen that I got doesn't come with a new shell.
Thanks very interesting..my note 20 ultra 5g screen wentout 2 days ago(note20 black screen of death).my phone was only 3 months old and out of nowhere the LCD display was black..fortunately it was repaired the same day with a new screen under samsungs limited 1 year warranty..unfortunately,the phone was only 3 months old,how in the world does a $1,100 phones screen goes out only after 3 months?..
Has this happen to me a couple days ago with the same phone. Unfortunately, I'm past the 1 year limited warranty and my carrier's insurance won't cover manufacturer's defects.
It seems Samsung has fixed this (or not because they stopped selling the Note20 Ultra lol) but this should definitely be a class action lawsuit if Samsung doesn’t do a recall. This is definitely a defect on their side seeing that it’s become wide spread. Similar to what happened with the S7 Edge with the pink line, but later revisions fixed this issue.
Yes, leaving the owner with the option of replacing it one's self or sending it out. At some point, and it won't be too long from now, it's no longer cost effective unless one has a real sentimental attachment to the phone. I just replaced the camera glass on my Note20 Ultra and that went well enough.
