      it was fairly easy actually; I've done iPhone screens in the past and this seemed super complicated until I actually dove into it. as long as you have the necessary tools and a steady hand it's pretty easy and straightforward.

    • @moosehead4497
      @moosehead4497 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No. He has a point it's a misleading video title. Most of them for N20U are like this. These are frame replacement, frame also happens to have the screen attached. Look for screen replacement NO FRAME to see how the screen replacement is done completely different process to remove and apply the OLED. And I think all these videos should be called frame replacement instead or at the very least specify frame in the title of the video many don't mention it anywhere at all

    • @moosehead4497
      @moosehead4497 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's because it's a frame replacement not a screen replacement. These video titles don't specify which and its irritating. You can actually replace just the screen a keep the old frame, it's a completely different process and you will apply the OLED screen directly. Search 'no frame' with screen replacement you'll see. Majority of the videos say screen replacement when in fact they are frame replacements that come with a screen. They don't even specify the fact that the frame is being replaced in the title. Super irritating

    there were some steps/screws that you missed in the video and I messed up my board a little in doing so but nothing is wrong with the phone as of right now it powers on has sound, screen is fully functioning and the s pen is even synced. phone is back to 100% basically, other than one little spot on the board. I used gorilla glue clear grip waterproof adhesive. worked great dried in minutes. still left for an hour to dry. and cleaned up the adhesive and put it back in my case.. was pretty detailed video, just missed a step or two and a couple screws. KEEP UO THE GOOD WORK!!

  • @adoniss1436
    @adoniss1436 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Thanks for this video it was very helpful. Those screws kicked my butt, had two strip on me, everything else went smoothly, I didn't reuse the s pen strip because it actually cracked when I removed it but my s pen synced fine anyways. I added a few drops of isopropyl to help remove the battery.

      There’s no fakes out there. The only thing is it could be refurbished, but that’s just the glass. Either way the parts are very expensive. So if they’re under $300 for the repair it’s somehow aftermarket or a Samsung Repair center.

    Suggestion for getting the screws out. I've tried the standard size screwdriver as well as others. As well as some of the basics; rubber band and glue trick but they just won't budge, they aren't stripped either. 5/18 came out easy and the rest are loctited in pretty good.

Is the IMEI on the logic board only? It seems Samsung has fixed this (or not because they stopped selling the Note20 Ultra lol) but this should definitely be a class action lawsuit if Samsung doesn’t do a recall. This is definitely a defect on their side seeing that it’s become wide spread. Similar to what happened with the S7 Edge with the pink line, but later revisions fixed this issue.

      Yes, leaving the owner with the option of replacing it one's self or sending it out. At some point, and it won't be too long from now, it's no longer cost effective unless one has a real sentimental attachment to the phone. I just replaced the camera glass on my Note20 Ultra and that went well enough. Were I to destroy the screen on this phone I'd have to really think about replacing it myself but I would definitely use _this_ video as an instructive reference.
