Great video, I just started building an app in wpf core and you helped me a lot.
A follow-up video about MVVM patterns and how to organize Views and ViewModels and also Data Binding would be great because your explanations are clear and concise.
    Thanks again :)

This was good. It's been 10 months since this video was made. I am subscribing because I would like to see more WPF UI Design stuff.
If you need ideas on what to do next, how about continuing on with this design. Make a video showing what happens after you log in. Maybe it takes you to some sort of "Home" screen. Whatever the case, the tutorial can focus on keeping the theme consistent once the app has been logged into. Maybe adding a custom menu to the app to keep it more "modern" looking. Maybe something like the 3-bar menus in responsive web apps and mobile apps.
    Just a suggestion

I am having a hard time with the icons. I think I installed what I needed, but the xaml doesn't seem to recognize the iconPacks command...do I need to install ALL of the files? I thought I had got just the ones I needed. -- Edit - I figured it out, for anyone else having an issue you must declare the namespace below your window properties, the xaml for this is within the MahApps Wiki

Actually yes, I've seen tons and tons of jobs asking for WPF developers especially in the UK, and learning XAML is a great base for not only learning C# in general but you'll also adopt the skill to develop mobile apps using Xamarin! :-)

What do you think about instead of creating border for textboxes, replace it with control template where we can define stackpanel and inside it textbox + border and we can improve this by using event trigger and adding animation for example for filling border when our textbox is getting focus and trigger for another stroryboard when textbox is without focus

check your grid.column and grid.row. Ex: I have a fixed grid like this:

Basically my grid now have 5 columns and 5 rows. When putting item in the grid. You have to tell the designer where you want to put the item in. Like this: . It's just like a two dimension matrix. Imagine this matrix is my grid:
      00 01 02 03 04
      10 11 12 13 14
      20 21 22 23 24
      30 31 32 33 34
      40 41 42 43 44
In my example grid above. The row/ column with an index of 0 and 4 would be the border of my application (empty space). So now the TextBlock (Label) will be staying at 11.

I was wondering how you wrote the cs code from 20:02.
This is because my code gives a bool error(cs0029), since this can't be converted from System.Windows.Input.MouseButtonState to a bool.
Any guesses on how to fix this?

Now, the way it is, if you click on Login it will send "Username" and "Password", which is not desirable of course. Is there a way to do like watermark text, so the Text property remains empty? It seems that it is not supported out of the box.

    • @_buffer
      @_buffer  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a really good question!
For the purpose of having quick dummy text, that way works just fine but if you want to send different data then I would suggest data binding the text property for both of those controls. And since the PasswordBox doesnt support databinding right off the bat I would suggest using another TextBox and then using a converter to convert the text characters to maybe the star (*) symbol. If I recall correctly there is a character table which has the password circle character.
