You're welcome, I couldn't just let it go with a defective tumbler, had to set it straight. I had no idea the RTIC could hold ice that long though. Thank you for watching
I just bought 4 Rtic's and IM SOLD! love them they cut out the middle man and only sell online where yetti is available in stores but that cost more. im okay waiting a few days for my item to ship! Great Job Rtic
Yes, I have a 20 ounce YETI that I use for hot coffee. That's the only one that I can comment on right now but it does keep coffee hot for a good while. I have a 20 ounce RecPro tumbler but I haven't tried it yet, I will be comparing those two tumblers soon. I will also compare the 20 ounce RTIC. What L like about the RecPro is that it comes with a slider lid. Check out the RecPro comparison here th-cam.com/video/-a5twN_R3WQ/w-d-xo.html
I purchased an RTIC 30 oz.. in Jan. that was defective like your first one. I contacted RTIC and they wanted pictures and a lot of other stuff. Very poor customer service. I just use my wife's YETI now and will buy another one soon. Never again would I buy an RTIC!!
I hate to hear that, customer service should be the same with everyone. No doubt you'll enjoy the YETI though, I use mine daily. Thank you for watching
These tumblers are vacuum insulated and maybe your defective cup had a leak that allowed air in or allowed the vacuum insulation to be lost which is why it had sweat on the outside since it wasn't insulated at all.
RTIC did have fantastic support. I don't see how the ice would behave different between brands as the ice is sitting in stainless steel. Maybe the amount of insulation is the key in difference between brands. the only difference I see is cost. Walmart has 24oz Bubba stainless steel tumbler for under $14. I have it and the 20oz RTIC (paid $15) and both perform the very same. The only difference is price. If your buying Yeti, you're throwing away money.
Yea, as you could see, that's about how long the first RTIC that I had would last. I would email them, that's how I contacted them and they were always pretty quick to reply.
idc what people say, yeti came out first and their name is bigger than all the knock offs out there. so therefore, I'm sticking with my yeti. it may not hold ice as long, but it holds ice long enough to satisfy my needs
Actually the owner of Rtic was the inventor of the Yeti products but his partner boned him over so he left and took what is rightfully his, the designs, and created Rtic. And he has a better business because he doesnt screw the customer over for simply the name.
Italia BTM In this case yes. Because it looks the exact same and works the same exact way. Where as a pair of Nikes are much more comfortable compared to any Walmart shoes.
+theguyumademad or people don't have money to blow just because they're so """"high class"""" they need name brand Everything to probe how much money they have. do you have the first car ever made? a wood and straw house? a Nokia phone? a black and white TV? No? checkmate welcome to the humanity.
Here's a very important question: why would anyone (realistically) need ice to not melt for 30 hours in a travel mug? I appreciate the science behind it. But in 10 hour work day in 102 heat in Texas, I just need it to last the day and RTIC does just that. Even as I fill it up through out the day.
I have had the same question and I even mentioned that in one of my comparisons. Someone commented and told me that they frequently go on kayaking trips or adventures which sometimes last three days. On these trips, all they have to eat and drink is what they pack and they pack very light. They pack some ice in a cooler but they use it sparingly so the longer their tumbler could hold ice the better. Makes sense to me, though I don't go on trips where I don't have access to ice and drink whenever I want it, I understand where this could be beneficial. Thanks for watching
If you're doing a comparison like I did where the tumblers are in a controlled environment, not adding liquid or drink of any kind and they're not getting moved around a lot then your results are low in comparison to what results most are getting. If you're getting 12 to 18 hours while using the tumblers with a drink in them and they are with you wherever you go then your results sound pretty good. The defective tumbler that I had before was forming condensation on the outside after only about ten minutes. If you would like to see a comparison where I'm using the tumblers with drink and not in a controlled environment then I could do that.
Great comparison between the two tumblers, it would've been perfect if you could've taken a temperature reading between the two at the end of the test not that it was needed but just the cherry on top.
The YETI can be purchased at yeticoolers.com and the RTIC can be purchased at rticcoolers.com. Before ordering either of those you should also see another one of my comparisons that included the RecPro Tumbler, it comes with a slider lid which you have to order separate with most other companies. Here is the link for that comparison th-cam.com/video/-a5twN_R3WQ/w-d-xo.html Thank you for watching
awesome test review, just about ever rtic - yeti review ive seen the rtic always wins, and same results with the coolers, so i think rtic is cheaper and actually better then the yeti, that extra $20 for the yeti is just paying for the name
Thank you, that's what I've found too in all the reviews that I've watched. I also reviewed the RecPro vs the YETI, it's about the same price as the RTIC and it comes with a slider lid. Here's the link for that comparison. th-cam.com/video/-a5twN_R3WQ/w-d-xo.html
Most I have got in a plain ice test was 28 hours. That said, even just adding a couple chunks of ice through the day isn't bad to me. I tend to leave mine in a hot car a lot. I drink it faster than the ice melts. I refill 2-3X through the day.
Yea, there's no way I could get 45 hours on a test if I was using the tumbler with drink and not in a controlled environment. I may do a test like that though to see what I do get.
Great review. I have 1 of each tumbler. They both preform about the same. They both hold ice for periods beyond my needs. The RTIC products are about half the price so unless you want a stupid sticker to put on your truck so everyone knows you have a YETI cup or cooler then get the RTIC. But mabye you like spending too much money.
I liked your video would you be willing to try a third test?........while taking this into account.....First because of the position of the tumblers in relation to the overhead light, and to the short distance separating each other. The counter needs cleared and the tumblers separated at least a foot apart and directly under the light source and moving them further away from the wall. The Yeti was positioned to receive the full brunt of the heat and the other tumbler was sitting in Yeti's shadow therefore giving protection to RTIC from the heat. The other thing factoring in - is.....how many hands touched each tumbler, for how long and how many times? Each time a hand grabbed a tumbler to check on the contents, the very warm human body temp gave a shot of heat to the tumbler .....was all that touching regulated and monitored and equal per family member? I don't mean to come across as obsessive compulsive.........its just that you chose to do an experiment and did not execute it properly; so the results are not as accurate as they could be. For me, I would place the tumblers in a dark room, placed at least a foot apart, and not enter that room but once a day and for as short of time as possible. The temperature of the room does not necessarily matter as the room temp affects both tumblers equally...unless you place one closer to the register/vent.
Haha, I'm not getting paid for these comparisons, I enjoy comparing the tumblers to see how each one holds up to their claims. If you notice, I have a couple more comparisons on my channel and I have more to do in the future. I choose Yeti as the one to beat because that's largest name brand on the market. Maybe one day I can get paid for simply making a comparison video. Thanks for watching
That sounds like the results that I had from my first RTIC. That RTIC was defective but the new RTIC tumbler does last that long. If you're not satisfied with your tumbler you may want to email RTIC to speak with them about it. Their customer service was outstanding when I dealt with them.
Haha, maybe I should contact YETI? Lol, the YETI is consistent with what I've heard they can do but I do have some other comparisons planned for the near future, just for the fun of it and to see which tumbler beats all the others. Thanks for watching
Not a fair comparison if you notice the yeti tumbler is closer to the light shining Down On It from that halogen light from the ceiling please redo the review
Do this in the outdoors. Both caps act as a magnifying glass and heat up the content when the sun hits them. Go with a real brand that actually designs their product like Hydro Flask.
Great review! Just purchased an RTIC 30oz. earlier today. 👍
Invictus06 Byron thank you, they are good quality tumblers.
Thank you for the redo of your comparison. Very interesting difference. Great job on the video.
You're welcome, I couldn't just let it go with a defective tumbler, had to set it straight. I had no idea the RTIC could hold ice that long though. Thank you for watching
awesome review man...hopefully my RTIC tumbler will be here tomorrow. kinda excited now !
Thank you, I never thought the RTIC would hold ice that long. You'll probably use yours all the time like we do. Thanks for watching.
Nice comparison Jeff.
Thank you and thanks for watching
Thanks for sharing. I liked your videos
Thank you, I appreciate that. Have a great day.
I just bought 4 Rtic's and IM SOLD! love them they cut out the middle man and only sell online where yetti is available in stores but that cost more. im okay waiting a few days for my item to ship! Great Job Rtic
Rtic actually does sell in stores... I just bought a couple at Buc-ee's Truck stop
Great review! I couldn't make up my mind on which one to buy. Thx to the review I'll save a few bucks & get the RTIC!
will it keep coffee hot for a while

Nice test! I wonder just how much longer it would hold ice if it had the slide top to cover the drinking hole.
Whomp good question, I would imagine that it would increase the time but I doubt it would be significant
I know and it really would not matter if it's already holding ice for 3 days or more.
how old was the seal on the yeti top??
where is the melted ice in the Yeti cup?
I purchased an RTIC 30 oz.. in Jan. that was defective like your first one. I contacted RTIC and they wanted pictures and a lot of other stuff. Very poor customer service. I just use my wife's YETI now and will buy another one soon. Never again would I buy an RTIC!!

nice
I have the rtic and the ice last only about 12 to 15 hours is all.. I might have a defective tumbler?? Going to have to give them a call..
Yea, as you could see, that's about how long the first RTIC that I had would last. I would email them, that's how I contacted them and they were always pretty quick to reply.
+Jeff Furr I will do that.. thanks for the video and reply..
I just picked up 2 Ozark trail tumbler's that match the Yeti but for under 10 bucks a piece
idc what people say, yeti came out first and their name is bigger than all the knock offs out there. so therefore, I'm sticking with my yeti. it may not hold ice as long, but it holds ice long enough to satisfy my needs

A True Wisconsinite That is true. I heard about them being business partners. But, you wouldn't buy Wal-Mart shoes over a pair of Nikes would you?
Italia BTM In this case yes. Because it looks the exact same and works the same exact way. Where as a pair of Nikes are much more comfortable compared to any Walmart shoes.
Exactly changing to a new company cuz it's cheaper is like changing to a new football team because they start winning

I ordered my 30 oz off this site and used my daughters yeti . Neither one held ice over 12-18 hours

Good idea, I'm going to get an infrared thermometer for some heat tests anyway, I could use it in these comparisons too. Thanks for watching.
Yes, Sorry Jeff Nice comparison.
Where can I buy these mug's from?
The YETI can be purchased at yeticoolers.com and the RTIC can be purchased at rticcoolers.com. most conclude with very similar results when testing the two?
Yea, that's what I've seen so far as well. Thank you watching

Great comparison but my drinks only last 20-30 minutes so the Rtic is the better deal anyway Yetti is way overpriced to bad.
True, no one really needs a cup to hold ice that long, interesting to compare though. Thanks for watching
Neither one of them hold ice for 45 hours. I've tried your lucky to get 12-18 hours.

Ron & Ron 🤣😂
cool
Thank you
rtic and yetti are the same just a split in the company .
Not a fair comparison if you notice the yeti tumbler is closer to the light shining Down On It from that halogen light from the ceiling please redo the review
I agree. And I don't know it I missed it or not....but that was a brand new rtic. was that a brand new Yeti as well?
lol, stop
admit it .... your just a die hard yeti fan
