The Echo is nice, but I honestly like Simms sun hoodies a lot more. I do backcountry fly fishing up in the PNW a lot and the Echo is probably lighter, but definitely cant handle the abuse the Simms ones can. I also have a fjallraven that is awesome and seems to hold up really well.

Love my Astroman hoodie! Hiked the JMT with it and it’s very versatile. Note the lighter color is UPF 30, while the darker color is 50.

I have the echo hoodie and agree it’s not a full featured hoodie. I use it more like a base layer instead. Great reviews I was about to buy the Astroman to replace my Echo.

This felt more like an ad than a review, there really wasn't much comparison. Why not compare breathability rather than just say that they're all breathable? Some simple tests with water in a controlled environment would be fantastic.

Try hiking in high wind just one time and you'll quickly realize that a loose hood is worthless. A sun hoody won't protect you if it doesn't stay on your head!
