Fantastic video Rode!! Awesome hosting Heen and Jules!! Had a rough idea of the difference, this video has answered all my questions!! Thank you Rode!!
What specific lav models and recording equipment are you using to capture the dialogue in the car and interviews with? The sound is quite rich with good depth and clarity.
I am interested in this mic but it is not available anywhere. Is it discontinued like some vendors show? If so what is the replacement? You also did not really say much about recording loud bands is stereo!
Dialogue in mono and room tone in stereo. That pretty much the idea? If so my whole life has been a lie. Ive been shooting my short films in stereo for the past two years. 🤦🏾♂️😂
I have a dynamic DM h200 mic with xlr to mono male 1/4" plug, If a buy another cable which has stereo 3.5mm male jack to female xlr cable ,will I be able to record stereo audio on my mobile
Just one little mistake in your Video... a stereo mic doesn't pick up differences in time and frequencies like you've mentioned, but the differences in time and level ;) Greetings
I think you told a very simple and slightly dilential position about the difference between stereo and mono. When you talked about stereo, you did not mention that in addition to the XY stereo system, which is used in RODE microphones, there is also an MS stereo system. In addition, in order to record the surrounding sound landscape using 2 or 3 mono microphones and the result will allow for great flexibility in post-production adjustment.

Great video, thanks for sharing!
This is helpful. We shoot in different environment. I used rode mics and wireless lapels in my videos and home recording. :)
That intro was hilarious!!! Keep up the great work!
Now, I want to go out and buy another mic just so that I can have a stereo mic. LOL!!!
Thanks for the video!!
Is your dialogue audio processed? Or raw from the rode lavs? It sounds amazing!
Thanks for mono stereo difference

Funny start for the video! Quality stuff. Peace!
very well made video
then two people with two mics recording. will it echo?
would you recommend mono or stereo to record motorcycle sounds while riding? thank you!
I'm broadcasting. I am using a Hyperx quadcast microphone. I want my voice to be better quality. Is mono sound better for broadcast or stereo sound?
If you're broadcasting, you'll want to go mono for sure. One of our dynamic XLR mics, like the PodMic or Procaster would be perfect!

Hi Kavita, I'd recommend getting in touch with the company that makes the microphone, they should be able to answer your questions!
These people are beautiful.

Why promote the X pro when it has not been available for over 3 years, ugh…
