    My son asked me when he was about 10 or 11 if I was his friend. I said no, I am your mom. You will have many friends, but only one mom. He said sometimes I don't like you mom, I replied if I am doing my job, you won't like me many times.

      My daughter was my best friend and still I was her mom and could talk to her about all things and she would listen to me because I had been there! And we are still friends today even though she just turned 50 years old and praise God I was there for her. And we both have Jesus Christ as our savior praise God! I am posting this in case it helps someone:
    My daughter, as a child, helped me do housework. Fine. At age 13 she announced that she didn't like the food we had for lunch, dinner. Ok I said. Make whatever you want. She did, and became a competent cook by age 16.
    Love your kids, but get them ready for the world by say....age 22, 23.
    God bless all moms out there.

    Hi there. I just wanted to drop by and say something I’ve noticed that brings such a smile to my face. I love your content, but one of the main reasons I enjoy your channel is because of the way your beautiful mom looks at you - and then smiles. • @TheTuesday11
      @TheTuesday11 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally get it. Sometimes we actually have forgiven the person, but as time goes on we may slowly take back the forgiveness (even without realizing it at first) So sometimes we need forgive a person over and over again, because we’re human. So what I’m trying to say is sometimes it’s normal to have to forgive someone over and over. The important thing is that when we realize we are holding on to something we need to ask God to help us forgive others. All the best

    • @jillcooper172
      @jillcooper172 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes I agree with Miss Tuesday totally. One thing too like many other things we have to overcome it does get easier and one day you will realize you haven't had a problem with it for years. It is like a pendulum on a clock. You stop the clock (sin) but the pendulum keeps swinging for a bit but after awhile (and you don't start the clock up again) the pendulum gets slower and slower and stops swinging so far and hard and before you know it it has stopped.

    In reference to you small safe. We recently updated our wills and health care for the time we need the kids have to help us as we age. (In our 70s) If your house is burgled, they will take your little safe and break it open later. If your will and important papers are gone for good. Lawyer recommended strongly having the will in bank safety deposit box. We set ours up so one of the kids could also get into the box if needed. Our daughters house was recently burgled so we are a bit more vigilant about a break in.

Likewise if she had to suddenly evacuate, she's already packed with necessities so she can get out within a few minutes....I myself do likewise and am trying to get family members to do likewise for those same reasons....so to Jill I say...YOU GO GIRL!!! You're so right about adjusting the thermostat settings. If everyone, even those with heat sensitivities raised the thermostat set point in summer by even one degree from where they are now, that alone would still do something to reduce strain on the energy grid and most people probably wouldn't notice the difference. Talking numbers, the Dept. of Energy website claims that adjusting the thermostat appropriate to the season by even one degree for an 8 hour period every day could save you 1% off your energy bill, I presume over the course of a year. Now try adjusting by 2 or 3 degrees and for more than just one 8 hour window and you're starting to talk real money without going cold turkey. That savings could help offset the inflationary markup we're all paying for groceries.

    I beg to differ with the heat and medical problems. . My son has a super rare, one in a million, genetic disorder called PKAN. He is very very sensitive to heat and if he gets too hot it causes horrible dystonic storms and uncontrollable muscle movements. He has broken both femurs in his bed due to dystonia! We must keep it cool. We did invest in a new upgraded air system and have seen our bills remain very low. This isn't an excuse, like you say, it's a fact for us. I'd rather deal with any small rise in my bill than pay the hospital bill (AGAIN) for a four month stay in the ICU.

    I went into a grocery store yesterday (twice since one of the kids had to go back in for the bathroom haha), and my children both commented on how cold it was in there. Yes it was a hot day, but it's not healthy to come in to such a drastic temperature change!

    Thank you for mentioning that expiration dates on food are a recent occurrence. I don't remember any expiration dates on foods when I was growing up or even when I was a young adult. My adult son who lives with us won't eat anything past the best buy date. He thinks he will get sick.

    I have been praying for God to help me not just want to read the bible as a checklist but to get excited over it because it is God not just stories. I have a very hard time reading and comprehending what I read. Jill you are part of the answer God has given me. Thank you for your joy and the way you describe your journey of reading. ❤️

      Susan I am so excited for you and you know some times when things happen for what ever reason it is hard to read anything and understanding it - when that happens I still make sure I listen to really good pastors on youtube using my Bible looking things up as they give a verse and it helps sometimes until I can start again or to jump start and excite me.
