Adam Brody, I feel, is criminally underrated. He did a film in 2020 called The Kid Detective. A mystery whodunit comedy that was very well done with great performances as well. I recommend that for your next reaction.
Originally, the writers were going to kill Grace at the end of the movie, but over the course of filming, they relized they wanted her to live and for the family's plan to blow up in their faces. I'm definitely glad they went with that plan instead.
I actually like the ending where Grace dies. I think it would’ve kept the audience guessing whether the family cruse was real or not. Also, the ending where Grace does would’ve set up a sequel perfectly. We can jump another 20 years and see one of the children go through this again or have the daughter (Emily) divorce her toxic husband, get sober, and have her remarry a man that actually loves her and then have her new husband pull the hide or seek card. I feel like this movie deserved a sequel but with the family dying at the end, it’s just not possible.

The real villain of the film is Alex. He's the one who married someone fully knowing there was a chance of his entire family having to murder them, or be killed if they fail. How could you even risk that? He's a total psycho who wanted Grace as his wife, no matter the cost.

Samara’s scream is just fantastic!!! I love Tara and Aaron covering horror films, they are so entertaining. Andrews great with his bits of info he drops in. This film is 1 of my favourites…
I had issues with Roxy way back on other shows. That said the more I listen to her the more I get and really now like her. She's ok, more Roxy, please :)
Fun fact: the guys who did this movie also did Scream 6 (that's why Samara is in that too, bc they asked her) and when the kids are in the subway, hundreds of people are in Halloween costumes... One of them is dressed as a bride in a dirty white dress and sneakers. If you pay attention you can find alot of great costumes in the crowds.
Yeah agreed, another actress memorable scream was from the 2013 remake of The Evil Dead when the demon vine went into Mia. That scream stuck in my head for how well it was done
One theory I fully agree with is that Le Bail would've let everyone live if the aunt didn't try to kill Grace. Breaking the rules led to the punishment. That explains why it didn't happen right at dawn
But isn't killing the bride/groom a stipulation of the contract, only if they pull the hide and seek card but still, and if the Le Domases fail to do so then they die? I'm pretty sure Le Bail would some form of payment and I think he was just messing with them until the aunt made a move and then he started the music. I'm pretty sure it was always that either the bride/groom dies or the family dies as a substitute payment of souls.
@@BrianZatzke exactly. Le Bail probably thought it was funny to give them just a bit of hope that they were going to live, but in the end killed them as they failed to deliver another soul as required by pulling the hide and seek card.
Another one is that the husband had a chance at living if she wanted it. If she had forgave him and loved him still I think he would have walked out right with her.
When Roxy said “this is a sick Halloween costume” with this movie having the same directors as scream 6, there’s a couple shots in scream in the subway where someone is shown wearing this “costume” it’s a fun little Easter egg
tbh a second film where gracie inherits the house since she’s technically apart of the family and some distant relatives get upset about this and she has survive their onslaught would be amazing. It could be called “Here I Come”
The only thing more dangerous than a rich person trying to defend their wealth and power is a rich person’s servant trying to defend their proximity to wealth and power. This is a fantastic bit of social commentary. This movie was the best surprise of the last 10 years.
It's so weird how apparently they thought the evil kids exploding onscreen would be too far for the kind of people who would be watching a movie like this in the first place.
For me, it's not so much that the ending is "too far." It's that I think an ending where it turns out there was never any magic curse at all and they've been doing all this for no reason would've been even better.
@@samcarroll6210 I agree - great premise and first half till the turn, then the supporting characters weren't on the same level as Samara Weaving, but it's got the same dark sense of humor that Ready or Not does.
Andi McDowell is from Mississippi. Her accent was so thick in St. Elmo's Fire, that they dubbed her. They didn't tell her and she was crushed at the premier when she realized it wasn't her voice.
Someone might've mentioned this already, but this movie was inspired by the 1920's short story "the most dangerous game" by richard connell about a big-game hunter who is traveling by ship and falls overboard. He swims to an island and is found by the island's owner and fellow big-game hunter. the main character soon after learns what the island owner's favorite type of "big game" to hunt is. I read it in high school and despite not being a horror girlie, I was pretty excited to see this movie when it released since I immediately knew its inspiration
The scene Roxy found so funny 'That's not how you do it'! Is actually very accurate of addict behaviour. If they can't do it 'correctly' because they don't have time, are in a public place or just don't want to share with 'friends', they might have "A Cheeky one".
This is such a great movie and I love Graces response at the end after everyone dies and she sees Mr Le Bail just “Fuck” 😂 like she’s so completely done with this crap
Omg she played her role SO WELL!!!! The fear the anger man she slayed! And one more thing, I watched the movie without watching the trailer so I had no idea what could happen so it was 10/10

“Ready Or Not” is one of the best or great budget movie we deserve in this modern era post 2010 cinematic universe/history. The quality of the movie is good and made with heart. The story is very simple. The actors and actresses are not big shots. Still, everything delivers well throughout the whole movie. No need much special effects or CGI stuffs. I think over here not many people knew about the movie when it came, we really had to look for a theater that was showing. Besides the 3 of us there was only 1 other person there that night watching the movie, it felt really weird xD Also, the main reason for us to watch it was Melanie Scrofano, who plays Emilie here, she was the lead in the Canadian show Wynonna Earp (our favorite), so we obvs had to show our support, and ended up really liking the movie :D

( 30:10 I'm just glad he still called the cops)
Love this movie so much. Glad yall enjoy it too!!
I don’t justify violence or anything but I mean the kid shot her first lol
I think over here not many people knew about the movie when it came, we really had to look for a theater that was showing. Besides the 3 of us there was only 1 other person there that night watching the movie, it felt really weird xD
Also, the main reason for us to watch it was Melanie Scrofano, who plays Emilie here, she was the lead in the Canadian show Wynonna Earp (our favorite), so we obvs had to show our support, and ended up really liking the movie :D
SAME!! Mel is comedy gold, but then her emotional scenes in WE, boy when Wynonna cries, I cry. She's amazing. ❤❤❤
@@pambola17 she really is! and such an awesome person on top of that!
