I’ve been getting into d2r and having never played Diablo 2 before this the entire community is so confusing to me because of all the abbreviated words people use for everything in the game and also stuff like knowing what is a good enough base to use for something. This community has to be one of the most knowledgeable about their game out there it’s really impressive sometimes
Had someone pick up and drop a plain ethereal thresher in a chaos run the other day. That alone could trade for an oculus easy, but I grabbed it and use socket recipe and got 4 sockets, then traded it for a stormshield + windforce + oculus + vipermagi
Exactly why I dont waste time on pindle anymore. My 1000 runs had a 5-5 light facet, tal arm, and 2/20/mf jav gloves and it still felt like a waste of time. If you spent that time running chaos it's pretty much guaranteed you would have had way better/more drops

you shouldnt waste your time with pindle lol, you probably would have made off with 2x jah and 2x ber runes in pits a long with hella nice base items that would sell for HRs

Eh. Ive probably spent more time than 1000 pindles would take. 3-4 min cs runs. Have found one mal, one ohm. In total. Both on the same run, did a random pit and found shako, another random countess and dropped ist. You always find the good stuff randomly. 😂
It’s probably been said already but you can use telekenesis on the red portal. If you have 30 or 40 FRW boots it’s super quick. Having said that, doing Pin runs as a FOHdin is a solid idea
An advantage of charge over teleport is that the merc will fall behind which reduces merc deaths and a fohdin doesn't really need protection... a least not mine who has max blocking which makes things much more convenient in the CS, in particular when facing Diablo in melee range, so he will attack the fohdin and not the merc. However, sometimes the merc gets confused while I'm charging, running into the wrong direction to catch up. For tele-stomping and merc repositioning, you need teleport, of course.
I haven't bothered to track exact numbers, but I did just short of 200 pindles the other night. I add in a very quick glance over Anya's items to the route, so all told I have one good pair of steelrend, almost perfect wolfhowl, a couple item bases I sold for runes, and from anya I got bowa gloves and one good ring. I don't think thats terrible for the 3-4 hours invested, but it was less fun than clearing chaos.
seems like the pits would be a better option, at least once you aren't totally budget. you'll get there quickly with vigor/charge, it's easy to find, and you won't have immunity issues
I've run him 800 times on a mf frenzy/hork Barb with 400mf and ain't found shit. Literally. Only notable thing was two eth conquest swords with sockets
I loved running Pindle back in the day when I used to play a lot of hardcore. I found BK set back when it was actually decent. A found a windforce as well. It does take a lot of time and there are a lot of crappy drops though.
Never had much luck with Pindle enough to do hundreds of runs but I’ve gotten 1-2 decent set or uniques off him since I’ve been playing so I know he can occasionally drop GG stuff. I play solo atm on console but I tried out ladder it’s just so empty feeling on switch without chat it just feels like a harder solo. It’s nice to have a fresh start but I wouldn’t do ladder again without playing on PC

Generally when you run infinity its the conviction doing most of the work, not the Merc attacking, so it's not too important, but a quick comparison shows that the speed of Thresher is -10 (minus is good for speed) and the stygian pike is 0, so its slower, thresher damage range is 12-141 (76.5 avg) and the stygian pike is 29-144 (86.5 avg). So the spear hits harder on average (max is negligibly higher) but is noticeably slower, I'd say eth thresher is still probably better, but its minimal, either will do fine.
Had i invested in a 1000 runs of pindle kills in act 5 i could of have spent that time studying and getting certifications just want to mention that time is precious that all.
did pindle from level 86 to 92 on a casual pace with fohdin complete Imk set andy set and 3/4 assasin set 2/4 paladin set and the rest can't remember. is pretty fun while watching tv or youtube and killing pindle for drops lol....
On drop calculator it shows that Pindle has highest chance of droppign Griffons Eye that I need badly (actually highest chance is Baal, but I dont count him since 1 Baal run is like 10 Pindle Runs). I tried like 100 runs and my best find was Aldur boots... :(

Pindle runs are so tough, that's why I like to do Meph and Pindle in each run just so the Pindle fatigue doesn't frustrate me.....
I add Eldritch just for spicing up things a little bit :)

another problem I have with teleport is that sometimes I misclick and Tele in the middle of all pinddle's minions and get 1 shot
i only tele to the roomentrance because of that haha, happened too often

I also like using the all res aura on Fohdin and mostly use MF gear for pits.
