I may be wrong but I think attaching tone and volume to the pick-guard is a way to minimize what is drilled and attached to the arched top. But maybe you were joking?
Hey! On the EXL-1 models, we try to avoid drilling into the body wood in order to keep the guitar as traditional and acoustic sounding as possible on its own. The pickup also floats off the body and is attached to the pick guard. Check out the DH model if you're looking for another alternative. Thanks!
Yep - Don't know why everyone doesn't use the scroll wheels that hide under the pickguard - no drilling & looks neater. I like this guitar's sound but am thinking of selling it because of this issue...
