Just a small note- at 23:00 that wasn't actually a blown coverage by the safety, that was the match playing how it was supposed to. In quarters the slot S is MOD (man on demand) the TE if he runs a wheel route, which was what the TE did so the corner manned him, he just bumped the slot WR and so was late getting to it. In quarters the outside CB is in charge of manning the 1 WR if he goes vertical, which you can also see he did.

Shading inside/outside always still seems to be a complete dice roll. Probably half the time, I can have shade inside and even move the DB to the inside, and the DB will basically stand still until the WR crosses his face. Then will attempt to chase after him. Why EA programmed so many new animations into the game, but we still have the same two man coverage animations that we've had since Madden 13 absolutely blows my mind.
I wish adjustments such as pinching the line or shading the secondary could be made at the play call screen instead of having to input it EVERY. SINGLE. DOWN.
Only thing you can do is use an Ethernet cord and use a wired controller to your console. Make sure you reset your modem/router before doing this. Hope that helps ya mane! Cause I has helped me in COD for sho!
Damn did not know you could see the run fits on defense! So lame it doesnt show in the controls lol appreciate that! My run defense got a lot better when I learned Cover 4 has the safeties in the run fit.

I find that most players struggle with a Dime defense set in Tampa 2. I control the MLB and will either blitz all LB while running my LB into coverage or leave the play as is. I find it comical when players can't run, can't pass and have to run options or screen plays.

I notice (in my games anyway) that sometimes for shading and adjustments there are arrows and sometimes there are not. So what does it mean when the screen for shade up/down/inside/outside just shows your joystick icon but no arrows? I see the same thing for o-line slide protection as well.

I really am a beginner, so I was kinda hoping you would teach me even more basic like how to tackle haha. I try pressing square or cross (PS5) and I still can't close a tackle. Do I tap the button or hold it? Do I need to be sprinting, because my guy always runs right past the ball carrier when I hold R2. Also, to get a user pick, do I need to press a button when the ball is coming toward me? If so, what's the timing on that supposed to be like? All the coverage and DL adjustments are pretty cool though, I'll definitely practice using those! Thanks!
And when you’re on defense u press triangle when your controlling the guy about to intercept the ball( timing of the button should be right before the ball enters the hands)
start slanting to the side opposite of the running back and play man and man the rb up with your user stand on the end opposite of the running back, watch how it shuts down everything. That's how I beat you not too long ago
What about if I want to double team a specific defender I can’t find any video online of how to double team someone and I play in a dynasty with a guy who mainly uses one guy to throw to
If you’re in a zone man a backer on that receiver or safety and then essentially you’ll have the corner and either or covering him. If you’re playing man you have a corner and if a safety doesn’t have an assignment have them man that guy as well and you should have your true double team
This might sound dumb but how do you see your individual assignment on your player without showing your entire play? What setting is it? I can't find an answer anywhere
Maybe just press "O" on PS5 or "B" on Xbox to switch to the man closest to the ball. Then continue until you have the right one. Idk if that is helpful or not.
Maybe it is my old approaching-40-ass, but how is playing defense fun? Gimme the 04-06 era of games where the AI was competently coded. Once you have to input 6+ button adjustments every snap it takes me out of the immersion of playing a GAME.

Never getting adjustments off in online play. I can spam adjustments super fast in practice but online it's sluggish and non responsive too often

all of the above, learn from experience. open practice is my favorite, i can just run random plays or set up the same play over and over and practice.

You spam tap x to wrap tackle which gives you the safest chance of getting a player to the floor. You can hold r2 or not

I must be missing something because I don't see the assignments for run fits in zone plays that I call when I press R2 then the X button.

It’s press and hold R2 first then press and hold L2 and then press and hold either square or circle. In that order.
