I've got a narrowed Dana 60 with Mark Williams axles & long studs under my '74 Camaro. Rims are 15" x 14" wide and tires are 32.5" tall with 18" tread. I have to put the car on jack stands and let the rear axle hang down as far as it will to change tires.
That is too funny I feel for you trying to put that rear tire on. I have the same problem putting on the rear tires on my pro street 41 Willys Coupe. I came to the conclusion putting on my 33X21.5 M/T's that its easier to undo the shock bolt or bolts and drop the rear end.
what you usally have to do with cars that are wheel tubed like this without streched fender opening's is drop the rear from the coil overs let it pivot on the ladder bars or 4 link bars put the wheels on and jack the whole rear end up with tires bolted on as one assembly.
wow even if you jack the frame so the axle will drop on its suspension theres no room?...yeah, thats an F bomb situation. cant tell you how many of those explosions I have had with my coupe..I still aint done so more to come damn it....unfortuneatly hang in there its a really nice willys...the harder it is to finish, the better the reward when it is, brother..
@woodzo40 yeah grade 8 would probably be ok like you said but on a prostreet turning corners with tires that wide puts alot of strain on the studs and nuts and I would still put as much thread as I could on that wide of a tire and wheel just to be safe. I would be afraid of it pulling the threads on short bolts if I was driving the car reguarly buts that just me. shorts studs may be just as good, I'll never know LOL
@roadhazzard666 customer wont be able to change the tires on this car. he will always be taking it to some one to replace them and this is the correct way to do it. there is a reason they use those long studs with tires that wide. for the same reason you use Strange Axles instead of cutting your stock axles down and resplining them. They will SNAP.
hahaha i laughed so hard, could see that coming, Got to see a pro street mustang here in australia recently up on a lift, had the same size wheels, was insane.
bro... as soon as i saw those rear wheels my jaw dropped and was like "thats gonna be a bitch gettin in" lol them things aint gonna be freeway replacable if he gets a flat... lol good luck gettin them bitches on... doesnt seem like studs are going to be the end all for gettin em on. might have to drop the rear end and put em on then bolt it back up lol
When building custom cars this is how it goes knucklehead...seems to me should be easier to unholy and lower the axle, bolts on the wheels, and then remountvthe axle. Probably easier than changing 10 wheel studs. IDK but I've seen a wrench or two b4...
Try unbolting the shock first dude then lower the rear ..get the wheels on and then raise the rearend into place rebolt the shocks .. Come on buddy tell Me you done Back half cars before YES ?
Maybe at second glance the rear wheel openings could have been radiused a bit to go along with the Oversized 18s Trendy assed California is caught up in the Hotwheels look this year ..But we on the east coast toss that shit off as just guys thinking bigger is always better NOT...HOTWHEELS TOYS are for kids..
dude all you had to do was lower the jack after you put the jack stands under the car that would have extended the rear down to wheels on...lol you even sound like a body guy!!!
@dcbt96 Good idea. Dont fix the problem the correct way just half ass it. Then if his customer has a flat he will be fucked because he wont be able to get the tires off. Good idea if you want to screw your customer
@seanseanseanseansean is it too, to, or two. man you got me confused, take it easy on me pal, I work to many days a week and to many hours a day to worry about spell check. If thats the only reason your watching this video, then maybe your watching the wrong channel?

Thanks for showing me that I'm not the only one that those things happent to. That beast is going to look mean with those wheels and tires.
Even with just one wheel on there. It makes a big difference.

I've got a couple of ideas but I'll wait and see what happens...I'm thinking longer shocks.....I'm not going with a removable rear fender...lol.
