In regard to Catholic poets, you need also to look at Anthony Esolen. He has translated Dante, Augustine’s confessions, and has written his own book of poetry called The Hundredfold: Songs for the Lord. He and his wife Debra have a substack channel called Word and Song. He is a great advocate for poetry. His book in the beginning was the word, an annotated reading of the prologue of John is a testament to that.
