Let's Play Some: Hacked Super Mario Bros. Disk from Hong Kong

I have been told that this disk is not actually corrupted, but is actually a hacked copy of the game from Hong Kong, using the Tonkachi Editor released for the Famicom Disk System in 1987! If that is true, then this may possibly be one of the very first Super Mario Bros. hacks ever made. Thank you to the Forest of Illusion preservation site for letting me know about this!
The FDS disk file of this hack has been uncovered and available below for archival purposes. Keep in mind that this may not work on every emulator, but this has been tested with a FDSStick on my FDS with no issues! Also watch out for random crashes.

I think it may be something wrong with the ram rather than a corruption (just a guess)
The ending tune reminds me a lot of Alex the Allegator 4.
Surprisingly enough, 9:26 is not corruption. This game’s enemy hit detection system says that if mario collides with an enemy when mario is moving downwards, then the enemy dies and mario doesn’t. If mario is not moving down, then mario takes damage instead.

@@notarmani4804 And remember, every world has theoretically 256 levels. So, you get a total of 65536 Mario levels to complete (Or at least try, since some are impossible due to not having a flag pole like Shiny Teeth, being a direct death pit or just crashing.)

Yeah dump it and create a patch that way it's legal. that corruption looks pretty fun but if you really want to play corrupted games use the vinesause rom corupter.
Eh the vs corrupter it's like everything corrupted. This is just modifying the enemy locations, IDs, and level destinations.

This was hilarious. Seeing you go through the same game you've played a thousand times with a new enemy placement and firebars that go 300mph was just flat-out amazing.

This is an old video, but i just recently got a copy of this on FDS - I'm really glad to have found some information about where it came from. I actually have one other Mario hack that is completely different and it's like playing a Kaizo level. super difficult and full of intentional traps. I need to record gameplay and upload it since I haven't seen it anywhere else. Great video!

If you have a game over and you press a + start you‘ll be put back into the world you died in. But you will be in the first level of that world. (the more you know)
I've seen a lot of glitches, but subtle ones that are stable, consistent and make the game more challenging and silly are uncommon. I love it.

I have many bootleged carts, but none are glitched. Most of them are normal with changed tittle screens or added lifes, but none had altered levels. I wish I will find a Cartridged version of this hack at my local china store (Store with Chinese Products)
