Thanks man! It was a pleasure to be apart of the leading design team for this car. Our vision was to create a design that would be stunning and also timeless and untouched by age. I'm glad to say that we've accomplished just that!
One of the things I enjoy about your channel is the relatively unfiltered nature of it. You aren't afraid to ask stupid questions, talk about your mistakes, give your opinion and generally just forge your own path. Anybody that criticizes you for that can safely be written off as part of the lowest common denominator.
I bought my first black car 10 months ago and I've been maintaining it pretty much exclusively with rinseless washing with pretty fantastic results. I'd say I corrected it about 85-90% and have installed very few swirls in it since then and I don't even have a garage to put it in to keep it clean(er) between weekly washes; I always use a pre-soak and at least six microfiber towels. Love the car, dude. Can't wait for the paint correction videos.
Really appreciate a good setup. The car is clean & well taken care of, detailing kit is tops, thorough editing and filming, and that car port is a dream! You are very knowledgeable about everything. Subscribed for sure! Cheers!
I look forward to the care of black paint! Your car + your cash = Do whatever it you want.....You are so right, enjoy it however you want! You earned it.
I guess I'm getting old too, helped a friend changed his coil overs and i was so surprised to see the dual adjustments- it is easier to lower the car with that, then i had to say "back in my day we used to skin knuckles adjusting height through the perch".
I seriously cannot tell my wife why I love watching you wash your cars as much as I do. I am Obsessed . Love your channel man. I used to live in Daytona Beach and religiously washed my car twice a week and waxed it once a month. I find serious therapy watching you wash your cars. More please!
Exactly what I was thinking while watching this video. I think the hate comments from jealous fucktards are getting to him. @Matt: Don't listen to that man. Just do you, we car guys love you!
This is the first time I've seen you upset about some of the negative comments people leave. Why even pay any attention to them? Keep doing what you're doing! You're videos are awesome!
"Stay tuned for more crazy" never seemed more applicable. Matt, read the positive comments and know you're doing great! Subscribed ages ago 👍 Liked 👍 Commented 👍
I love my black ap1. I just bought an oem hardtop but in silverstone color. Can't wait till it gets painted black and slap it on. It's going to look niiicee. Definitely better visibility on the rear window 👌
I'm a detailer in the U.K. and I'm not sure how dirty cars get in your part of Florida compared to here in Aberdeen, but your wash method is totally different to mine. Cars here get pretty disgusting pretty quickly, probably comparable to the northern states in the US. One thing I notice is you don't apply a pre-wash product then rinse it off, but instead go straight to foaming with shampoo and wash over he top. Shampoo doesn't really have the ability to lift half as much dirt as a dedicated pre-wash product. For a black car with Honda-soft paint especially I'd highly recommend applying a pre-wash and allowing to dwell for a few mins then rinse, then touch the paint. That way you remove the bulk of the dirt first that even a rinse won't take off. Trust me it works wonders. I'd also be tempted to add 30ml or so of ONR to your shampoo bucket once the S2000 is corrected to reduce the chance or marring even further. The three best pre-washes on the market are Bilt Hamber Autofoam, Valet Pro Citrus Prewash and Auto Finesse Avalanche. You'll need either of those while owning that black S2K 😅 I also use two mitts, saving one for the lower sections such as under the sills and bumpers. Helps prevent cross contamination in my mind. Also I've seen before that you sometimes put your wheel tools in your paint buckets. I'd personally avoid this as the abrasive particles from the brakes will lodge themselves in the buckets, tools and mitts and may scratch the paint. Just my opinion Matt! No hating here. Love the videos. Keep it up.
Coffin Nails suds don't give any benefit I've been told. And I don't feel that the wash is any less enjoyable or any less effective without them. The liquid you put into the bucket is what adds the lubrication. I fail to see how bubbles can make a liquid more slippery... I use Bilt Hamber Autowash as my shampoo, which isn't a high foaming shampoo any ways, but it does have corrosion inhibitors in it and is very concentrated anyway, which when combined with ONR gives the perfect wash.
Hi Matt, i also have an 08 CR with the kw supercharger! long time s2000 owner (og). had other sports cars, and always come back to the s2000. perfect sports car for me! i know you are thinking of going square 255's. have you considered sourcing 2 more rear oem wheels and boring the center out to fit on the front? you would most likely have to powder coat them as well, because of the "Kaiser silver" darker CR rims, but it sounds like your wheels might need power coating anyway. really nice car! we might be moving to st pete or punta gorda in the spring, so maybe ill see ya around the car shows and drives.
Said this in a previous video the dedicated snowfoam like autofiness and or the one I'm using monstershine cyclone are effective at removing dirt and don't strip wax
I'm not sure if you know this already but dunking the mitt into the rinse isn't doing much you shouldn't wring it out because and after if helps I do that
Although it is cheaper to use a threaded body shock for the company, since it allows one shock to fit many cars while just changing the mounting hardware. it's not likely that's the reason ohlins used that method. The benefits of adjusting ride height on a car that's not dedicated to be tracked is simply you can go far lower without making the ride overly stiff and maintaining more travel in the suspension without worrying about having the spring walk if you reach full droop by lifting the front end after hitting the track coping. The reason that extremely high-end track dedicated remote reservoir suspension doesn't utilize it is because being a hollow cup and threaded shock body with nothing but a locking collar keeping it in place makes the components slightly weaker and subject to change in racing conditions. Furthermore they expect those types of shocks to be put on the car and corner balanced without changing the ride height they set by more than maybe an inch. Since they're designed solely for track use they don't have to worry about the road surface or bumps. Hopefully this cleared things up the main idea of this is that although it's seen on cheaper suspension it does not mean that the suspension is cheaply built if that's present. If you need any further proof the fortune auto pro 3-way shock is a threaded body shock that is the official shock of global time attack and is some serious suspension.
Obsessed Garage thanks I hope it'll clear up that when you say cheap that you litterally mean less expensive and not poor quality to some people trying to bash you
In this video Matt tries coffee for the first time and washes his stock S2000
Best intro ever, 10/10
But does he even lift?
Who cares, his car his choices.

Martin Bowen ONR always kills my suds, you don't have this issue?

I agree with Martin, i live in Finland and pre-washing is must! I use BIlt Hamber Autofoam, its the best :)
