Black rice and wild rice are both from the same grass family: Poaceae. They do split into different genus categories but don’t be fooled, they are both still grasses, call them cousins but don’t say that wild rice is a grass and black rice isn’t because that’s not true.

Yep. Black rice (sometimes called Forbidden Rice due supposedly its original consumption in China) is quite good, though it can be hard to find. Organic food banks will likely carry it for bulk purchases. Also, a couple of weeks ago I emailed some info dealing with a topic for your consideration to the office of someone with your name who is also a naturopath (a rare combination to say the least). I didn't hear back and was wondering if I sent it to the right place and if you received it. FYI, the first federal lawsuit on this topic will go to trial in April. Canada is doing a good job in eliminating this neurotoxin from drinking water - currently 33% of the population, down from 45%. The U.S. on the other hand, doses about 65% of its population. Please let me know if you got the info. Thanks.

Black rice is hybrid man made and is acid. Stay away from it and buy wild rice instead. Lundberg wild rice is the brand I use. Research it.
