Agreed, though since edging mine the back is bothering me less, plus with the readings I’ve gotten I guess it doesn’t matter what it looks like in the end lol

I have this deck already, but I really appreciated your detailed insights. This review enhanced my understanding and appreciation for the deck, as there were a lot of details in the guidebook and cards I have missed. Thank you for taking the time to explain the creator's story, it added more meaning to owning this deck, and made me feel genuine empathy, as I am also going through major shifts. Thank you and blessings.
I thought that I’d let you all know what I do to make the cards more “shufflable” and easy to work with. I learned the first step from an experienced tarot reader and the 2nd step from TH-cam videos. I took each card and rubbed it across an edge of my wood table in all directions. It softens the card stock and makes it more bendy. Be careful that you don’t damage the card with cracks. Then I put them all in a paper bag with fanning powder and shock it up (outside) to coat each card. You need to wipe the cards off with a dry towel afterwards. They glide and fan out beautifully afterwards.

Thank you for describing the guidebook as that helped me decide to buy this deck. I value the research and experience of the creator in the guidebooks when they are well done. Of course the artwork is important for me in oracle and tarot decks too.

Also, regarding "bardot", my introduction to this term came in the form of the beautiful novel 'Lincoln in the Bardot' by George Saunders which I highly recommend :)
I just got this deck myself and I absolutely appreciate your insight and enjoyed your review. It was honest. Some people want the quick videos, I personally think this is not the deck for them lol each card is so much deeper than the image. I feel as if no one person can say oh this card means exactly this definition. We all have different ways of perceiving things. I love that you took the time to evaluate each card and put a little bit of what your perception of the card was not just what the book says! Much love and gratitude to you for this video! I like the packaging that Kim Krans put out for this deck: Sleeve, square box and inner circler box. However, I do agree that having the barcode on the box inside the box sleeve does reduce the value of the box. I like everything about this new oracle.

My first round card deck and I LOVE the extra dimension that this adds to the reading. It makes for wonderful and striking artwork and powerful images. It’s the first oracle deck that I have found a connection with. So exciting to work with.

I didn't love Castle either... Comic I laughed aloud at. Which I guess is good? But... I never thought the one cat card in a deck would be one I wasn't in love with but this is what's happened. I love love love the Heart card most so far. Enjoyed your walkthrough!

I love this deck and I do not shuffle them because for some odd reason I want them to remain in order. Instead, I bought a pack of wooden buttons and numbered them and placed them in a velvet bag. So I pull the number out from the bag and work with the card(s) that way.

The Comic. The moment that I saw this card I was like - “what?” but then it reminded me of “cat videos” on TH-cam. You know the kind, cat eats corn, cat jumping off a shelf and missing target. It made me think of the crazy rabbit hole you can fall down in the name of entertainment. Shadow is that I guess it’s not funny for the cat? Haha! Hmmm... I don’t know? I don’t have this deck. I might get it.

This was an amazing review, I decided to purchase based on your video. I was surprised you were bothered by the Castle but not the Village. I'm not getting any sort of village imagery from that card at all! She could have used people or homes but instead went with a mountain and a weird picture of a hand grabbing... what, exactly? Maybe it will be clearer when I see the card in person... lol. I agree with you about the Comic card, it's quite off-putting. Anyway, overall I love the imagery, the backstory and the card meanings so I will be excited to pick up my deck at B&N tomorrow.

Hi Kelly, thank you very much to share this video. I'm so disappointed with this deck... I just ordered it yesterday and was happy to cancel today... the collage is so horrible. I love the Wild Unknown Tarot and the Animal Spirit deck but this... I have no words...
I think we all have different reactions to decks and that is okay, If this helped save you money on something that isn’t going to work for you then it’s a win for me :D I was not thinking I would work with it but in the end it really speaks to me, readings I’ve looked at since just... work.

I know, it really surprised me, I’m surprised that I hadn’t noticed that before O.o
This has been a pretty disturbing deck. I edited it and pretty much destroyed it. Then I read the book and realized why I had such strong emotions. Then I ordered a new and clean copy. 😆 I don’t think I have ever studied a book this much. I’m also listening to Carl Jungs memoirs and Joseph Campbell. I don’t like the roundness, the images, or the backs, but I feel compelled to study it!
I was excited for this because of the wild unknown deck. However, I'm with you regarding the details. Because of the video, I decided this deck is not for me. Thank you for sharing your honest review. I respect your honesty on these reviews.
I really like the idea behind this deck but this artwork is not for me. kairos in greek is pronounced as keros (e for Elliot).I feel honoured that Kim used the greek words in her deck but I also feel sad that the Apocalypsis is miss-pronounced [being greek I can't help noticing the error :( ]. I have mixed feelings about this deck, but I prefer not to use the book as the messages are as mixed as the images in the cards.
I will use this deck only using my intuition and using the imagery of the cards to dig into any thought, idea, feeling, or memory in my heart and overall experiences to spark any sort of interpretations. This deck should be used freely and let yourself go.
Pros: Kudos for the artist in getting her "art" across within a beautifully presented and delightfully packaged deck.
Cons: As with any contemporary art, is always open to interpretation and not focused on anything in particular. Conceptual art is a shameful perversion of the concept of creativity and freedom. The corruption of art and that the only thing that sustains it is money, because the day it falls, hundreds of art collections, that is, millions of dollars in works, will become nothing, in a painful anecdote of a decadent society.
I feel that lately, artists are recurring to creating oracles, decks, and tarot decks to sell and expose their art (easy $$$$). That's all.
The relation of the cards to the archetypes can be relative, allow yourself room to *not* agree with Krans’ definitions while still appreciating the mixture of messages. In my opinion, the deck is a mixture of visuals, meanings, phrases, words, and ideas.
Another use of these cards as well as using your intuition is to display them around your house so as to cause confusion and see the reactions of your visitors. Also, these cards make really great glass coasters!
Therefore, I give this product very well deserved 5 stars!!!!! Cheers!

Thank you for this incredible review. I was thinking in buy it but thank you to this video finally I've decided that I don't like at all. I love the work of Kim Krans but I think that collage is a risky technique and it is not for everybody. I really want to enjoy a deck and use it when I buy one, not only as collection. Also I saw "apocOlypsys" written in a card which seems little bit weird, like a mistake... Not sure, and maybe doesn't matter but those mixes of images... Not for me.
can anyone please help? im really struggling to find out what “when light” and “when dark” means? i’ve read the book but never heard this term before in relation to these cards
When light is like when you are embodying an energy in the most healthiest/ positive way and when dark is how you may be embodying the same energy in a less healthy/toxic way, in my opinion.

wow, 91 comments! I really wasn't gonna get this one until I saw Prism&Co's videos on it...he really has a way with video. But now that I have it and am over the initial round deck aggravation - I also watched a really great mod on the deck cutting it down to square (Boho Tarot) but yeah, it actually shuffles really well for a round deck! I am going through the deck a few cards at a time, journaling and writing out the keywords (including a few of my own) in the borders. It is super TIME CoNsUMinG. but it also gets me right up close and personal with all these archetypes. I pulled the Medallion for a reading for a friend when she asked for advise on whether she should buy her friends' parents house to fix up and use as a rental...really interesting in that aspect!

I really love your videos. I've been binging them at work and home. I'm getting back into tarot after a couple years break and your reviews of decks and knowledge is just awesome to me. Thank you for making these! Also I really enjoy how positive you are and how obvious it is that you really care about what you do and the videos you make. Do you feel that pagan otherworlds would be a good deck for a semi-beginner? I feel really drawn to the cards but I'm nervous I won't be able to read it correctly. I have the wild unknown and the prismatic tarot, and of course the RWS original deck, but they just don't resonate with me, I don't feel drawn to them like I do with pagan otherworlds. Sounds weird when I type it out lol. Anyways I look forward to watching more of your videos :)

Uh oh! Is there a spelling mistake on the ‘apocolypsis’ card...? Or is a play on words that I’m missing?
In the guide book on one place she has it spelled correctly to the left but the other places with the incorrect spelling, not sure if it is on purpose or not, I love little “spirit errors” like this though so if it is changed in further editions I’ll be happy with this one :D

I agree the comic card is not at all as beautiful as the others. I don’t like it as an image either. And I need more playfulness and levity in my life I’m by nature a serious person.
I just recently got this deck and I'm confused what the light and the dark means. Does the light mean upright and pushing forward (tilted right) and dark mean reversed and going backwards (tilted left)?
If you have the time, could you please recommend a deck similar to The Starman David Bowie Deck. Really looking for Tarot cards that are not overtly feminine and have both Feminine & Masculine Figures. Nothing Wrong with Feminine Decks but I'm looking for something similar to The Starman. Also really love colorful decks too
Do you think Kim Krans somehow is linking this deck to tarot since she chose 78 cards?
You know I am sure you can make some correlations as tarot is full or archetypal energy but I didn’t pick up on a solid pattern but maybe one will emerge over time!

I would have adored this deck just with Kim's beautiful watercolours and linework, but the cutouts are far too jarring for me, so I'm sitting this one out
I definitely agree on the cut outs though I understand why she chose to do it that way and sometimes I think as creators people have to make the deck that is right for them and then we have to figure out if we can go along for the ride :D
@@TheTruthinStory that's a very good point, like any art I imagine a deck begins to take a personality and life of its own, it never ends exactly how a creator envisions it. The Archetypes deck is what it was meant to be.

She could have but I do think it was part of the process for this deck, it’s not my favorite medium but in the end if it works it works I guess and so far it’s working for me. :D ::HUGS::
I have the wild u know. Tarot deck. What’s the difference eve between these and how do you use this deck? In new to Tarot and just curious as to why buy both?
Tarot is a system, so it comes with an inherent framework to work off of, oracle is different in that they each have their own focus or theme or even system--in this case on archetypes, so you might use this deck to delve directly into that internal work that archetypes represent. You can also just do this with tarot :) Some people are tarot only people, some people are oracle only, and some just love it all :D
The round cards are an absolute fail for me.
I’m not a huge fan of round decks but for this one I’ll let it go lol :D

I feel the exact same way about the panther card in the Animal Spirit deck. The drawing is not as sophisticated as the rest of the cards. I also don't like the wolf and the otter in that deck. Those cards look like a different artist drew them. And I agree with you on the Comic card. Don't like it.
