This sort of solution has been circulating for a while... Getting the HD version of NF (that works w/o mouse, but with remote, like the one you get on official Smart Tv) that's the real deal.

thank you. working again in 5 minutes following this.
After 4 years, my Droidbox Netflix app told me to update. I did, which immediately blocked it from working and the Google store said this app is no longer compatible. I assume this is just an older version of netflix app. The annoying part is that I'm actually trying to use my droidbox on an old TV legitimately
