Thanks Bryan, I appreciate this video, I was hoping you would let us in on the costs. I love the design with huge covered areas around the outside of the house, this keeps the sun off the walls and allows air to circulate, almost like a Queenslander home in Australia. I would love to recreate this type of house for my wife's village home, but because the footprint is so large I may have to just do two sides like this to reduce the costs, we won't be living there so I can't warrant spending 3 million was looking at about 2 million so hopefully we can do something nice for that. I know you hated doing the works but I actually get a bit down after I finish a house, I enjoy the challenge and when its done I feel a bit lost as I am not so busy, thats when I start looking for more things to do. Enjoy the fruits of your labour, you have done a great job.
The house is looking great, a credit to both of you. So often in Thai home builds, people choose to use several coloured tiles in one room. Maybe a culture thing but not something l could live with. Love the possible outdoor entertaining area you have created where the Thai kitchen is located. The Boy George comparison cracked me up. All the best, keep the vids coming.
Happy to subscribe and follow your build. I have lived in Thailand for more than 20 years--long ago out in Jomtien, Chonburi, then almost 10 years in Bangkok, and the last 8 years in Chiang Mai. I enjoy followjng other expat adventures in Thailand. Continued good luck with your build.
The property is looking very nice, you have a good eye and I'm sure sitting having a cold beer on the veranda when its complete will be very rewarding. Good job you all should be very proud 👍😁
Just found your site. I like your windows and doors style. Can you tell me where you got them and costing? I'm building in Buriram in a few months time. I have a time of it ahead of me.. lol
I found a company in town that installed basic thai windows with 6mm glass I think? it might have been 7mm actually. They told me most people put 5mm. I did look into more expensive windows a lot, I visited Tostem but in the end decided on the cheap option. I am pleased I put the cheap ones, all except for our back swing door, which I dislike. Unless you really want double glazing Id stick with cheap options, the whole house was about £2k-2.5k for the external windows and doors, no issues so far
looks good but sounds expensive,,? my friend just built a 3 bed detached villa, 1.3 million ... including all tiling kitch.units air con .lights.proper tile roof.free standing bath and two bathrooms.ready to walk in. 11 mTs by 14 mts .also includes all windows and nice hardwood doors!! what were the biulders charging per square metre ? not critasising just comparing costs...sure you'll be happy..but shouldn't cost 3 million.
I think you have done great with your build buitful home and well built. We are presently building as you know not a million miles from you on one of the island in the gulf. It will cost over 2.5 million for 150 sq meter but the columns at the front holding the balcony will be 6 meters so a lot of funds gone in to seeing a view of the ocean. We will be heading back up north tomorrow with a quick pit stop at our Durian farm 2 day drive hate it but have a dog so flying is out. Look out for you in Surat when passing trough.LOL
@@lowbrow I actually flying down tomorrow for the week. But the builder has the beams and posts nearly finished so next payment nearly due. But we will be shopping for furniture in Surat got good deals on electrics on line and shipped them to Chumphon till we need them.
Looks great! This is the first video of your farm I've seen and will start watching the others... I may have missed it but how many square meters is your place?
no, I didnt ask about that and was told it wasnt necessary, maybe the heat and humidity makes it irrelevant? ask Brians Thailand he would know better than anyone else, he builds a lot in Thailand, hes on youtube and instagram
i Do Really want to Build my own house in Thailand small house or bigger house and I want to get my own property and i want to Get my own vegetable garden
Hi bud, great house work. Also, thanks for clarifying the costs to date, pretty much as I has estimated. Yisa and I have all this ahead of us so it all helps. Best from us both. ;-)
Hi really interesting video. I was wondering if you used grounding rods to earth the house ? I’d worry if my house was hit by a lightning bolt & it wasn’t earthed. I just found your channel today & have spent most of today watching the videos. Thanks Adrian
It like that in most villages even in Africa. Most of this lands are inherited from generation to generation. They will only sale then as a last resort. In my village you will be considered a truant a useless person for you to sale your inherited land.
@@lowbrow The company I am using is very professional. A few minor glitches, but being at the site once or twice a day helps find the issues early. Maybe move in the end of May!
I dont think the law is for that purpose really, the immigration police visited us at the farm when doing my visa, they chatted to us about the trees and werent interested in the visit at all, they said it was just paperwork and they didnt want to be there
Thanks Bryan, I appreciate this video, I was hoping you would let us in on the costs.

a similar thing could be done for less money I think, in hindsight

As always a great video. Real down too earth. Fantastic - great 👍😀

our roof is 321 sqm, I think the per sqm cost is similar to your friend’s which is 154 sqm

Another great video. Great story and editing. Although, Wouldn’t be nothing without a woman or a girl.
Is Thai construction protective against rising damp?
no, I didnt ask about that and was told it wasnt necessary, maybe the heat and humidity makes it irrelevant? ask Brians Thailand he would know better than anyone else, he builds a lot in Thailand, hes on youtube and instagram
@@lowbrow it's "irrelevant" because the builders have no clue. You have to force them to install damp proofing. Enjoy your damp house 😜

Very strange about the cultural difference about buying land
We bought a couple pieces for my daughter and it was complicated not to upset anyone
funny isnt it, I guess its all about the social hierarchy stuff?
How much was it ?
too big, but yeah
Hi like your show, where do you get your income from ?, do u work onlihe? Thankyou.
nah, I havent worked in ages, I need to go to work and get some income!
Sims to me that you are missing the floor plinth.
Did you buy the land
its my wife's place
@@lowbrow How big is the land?
You would be mental to cut down those palm trees, it is a potential source of income especially if these are Date palm trees.
Place is looking great mate. Sugar and 3 artificial sweetners, cracked me up, but it's true.😁😁
yeah we just threw a load more in, and planted some stuff round the edges, fingers crossed
You look like a cross between Mr Been and Eminem.
Order without suger is an option
Good job on putting gutters
I hate not having gutters
My wife thinks I am crazy but I want gutters
I am very glad I put them, the rain here can be so heavy, but the gutters were so expensive, much more than I thought, I hope they last a long time
Love the way you moan about all the Dogs , then take them home 🤣🤣🤣
Why does the cat have on a sweater isn't it hot? Woe
I think it had a bite from another cat
