I fixed the overview database error. I removed the 2 overview database entries from the relation inside the template button, you have to set it up manually after duplicating the template. Included it how inside the template.
Can you show me where this is as I can't see the area to manually add this view
After manually adding the relations manually under "Finance Tracker" database for both the "Green Income" and "Red Expense" template, there is still the "Database not found, please contact support" error message and no graph.
2024 Update: At 2:58 Click on Overview at the very bottom to get the tables at the top to update
I still don't see the numbers update after I manually inputted them under overview for 2024 and total
I'd love to see a budget template integrated with this one where all the subscriptions etc are automated!
My next finance related template will be a budget/investing tracker 🙌🏼

Hello, I have your financial template, the only thing is that I am missing a section for savings. When I put this jn the financial template as bank accounts, it counts my savings as income while it is not income. It comes from my income into my personal account to my sayings acount and it counts it as double income when I retract it from personal account and add it to savingsaccount. Also it would be nice to add a goal for what you are saving for. Are these features you might be planning to add?
The rest of the template is very handy. I am glad I can track my subscriptions.

Hello, thank you so much for making this. I got the full version and I have a question: does it support more than one currency? I use 3 different ones. Currently, I'm converting every transaction I make to USD before adding it to the table.
Hi yes you can edit any of the number properties and change the number format from USD to whatever currency you're using :)

Inside the formula just replace the "$" symbols with your own currency :)
Hi Chris! With subscriptions, do I have to add the monthly subscription every month to expenses?
Yes, or you can add a monthly subscription button and add all your subscriptions inside of that button as expenses, so each month you just click that button once and all of your subscriptions will be added to your finance tracker. Then you just update the renewal dates in the button to the next month.

Don't think I quite understand the question. If you're refering to how long you spend inside of the actual software then that's definately not possible as you can't use data outside of Notion. Would recommend describing what you want to ChatGPT and see if it can help 🙌🏼
Hey Chris, I absolutely love this Finance Tracker, but one small issue, I obtained the template but there's a few sections missing, the overview, the accounts and the income and expenses, is there any other way to get this sections? I'm willing to pay as I did for the template, thanks!

Hey first of all nice work you done here, but I noticed the bank accounts, income and outcome sources template was removed. Would you show me how do I set them up ?
They're included in the full version of the finance tracker. It's basically just a gallery view database with the properties shown in this video and then a relation between the 2 databases.

You can basically build those features or pay $10
Hey, if someone could help me, but when i enter items in the finance tracker, my overview doesn'T change. It still stays at 0 for total income, total expenses and profit. Does someone know how to fix it? Thanks!
There was a section explaining how to connect the 2 databases when you duplicate the template. But you basically just need to edit the 2 template buttons in your finance tracker and add the overview database entries as relations 🙌🏼

The income and expenses I put in, always show up as monthly, but there are things I've only earned or spent that month. How do I change that? I bought the full template
The views are setup with filters so if you want to change the information that's shown in that view you'd have to change the filter
@@chrisnotion Yes, I tried changing the filters, it's only for the day, but it still counts as monthly. I'll delete the template and set it up again.

No bs man this is by far the best financial tracker I've tried.
But there's a problem with the chart. It worked fine at first but now it doesn't work anymore and shows this error message:" Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information)."

Thanks! Haven't encountered that problem yet, sounds like something to do with your browser. Make sure you're logged into Notion on your browser and then connect Notion to Notion2Charts. I'm having a hard time with this dashboard. There is no Accounts view, Income Sources view, or Overview without any instructions on how to add it. Please help
Hi yes that's only in the full version. You got the basic version of the template. Planning to create an updated walkthrough about this finance tracker in the future which will then also contain a step by step guide to build it from scratch

Unfortunately no. Though the closest to automating that process would be to create a Notion button for each subscription and then you just click a button each time that subscription is due to automatically add it but you can't 100% automate it. 🙌🏼
If I start out with the basic version can I import all of my data to the new paid for version down the road?
Yes you can
Is there any way to only see the monthly expense in the Expense Sources tab?
For example if I add an expense of $100 today, and another $100 the next month, in the Expense Sources specific tab it will show $200.
I think the only way to only see the current's month expenses is by deleting the previous month one, right? And it is the same thing for the Income Sources. Sorry, I am very noob when it comes to notion
Yea you'd need to create either a new database each month or create new database entries, which is quite a hassle. Maybe there's a better way with formulas and stuff but if there is I don't know about it. I do have something like this for my previous finance tracker which creates a new database each month in case you want to check that one out: chrisnotion.gumroad.com/l/vpbxe

Just click on the number property, click edit, and then change your currency inside the number format (you have to do this for each number propery)
It would be good to also add a credit card section in addition to bank accounts, also investments woild be nice
I'm actually working on a better version for this finance tracker which also includes a budget tracker and a few other things but this is a good idea, will see what I can do

Hi there! Is there any way to add a credit card to the finance tracker and have the balance be added on when using the card? Also, when I add money or expenses to the finance tracker, I don't see the overview chart being updated. Is there something that I am doing wrong?
Hi yea you can add your credit card to the bank accounts database and just add in your starting amount. And in order to link them you need to edit the 2 template buttons in the finance tracker database and add the 2 overview database entries as relations so it will connect with them each time you use those 2 template buttons. I am so sorry Chris! One more question. For my tracker, I had made two separate pages. One was for subscriptions that you already had, but I also made another one for bills. How do I connect them to specific checking accounts so that it will automatically take money away on the days bills are due. Thanks again!
and how do I make the subscriptions so that they transfer every month instead of changing the dates at the end of each month?
Is there a way to sync the numbers by linking your bank accounts, paypal, shopify etc via zapier maybe?
Probably but doing that I feel will just overcomplicate things unnecessarily. And you also need to pay for Zapier to use PayPal but feel free to try 🙌🏼

These are in the full version of the finance tracker not the basic free version. You could create the databases yourself and add them manually as shown in the video 🙌🏼
What would the process be of me putting money from my main account to my savings account
Just add it as an income & expense and relate it to the relevant bank account

I bought the template and got into a probem, when im adding an income to the Bank its updating in the finance tracker, but when im adding an expense the balance in the bank stay the same and doesnt update. if you could help me with that i will thank you alot.

Thanks bro! Yea all you have to do is just edit the 2 template buttons in the finance tracker (click the dropdown next to new, click on the 3 dots and then edit) and then go down to the hidden properties where you'll find the relation with the summary database and then connect your database entries (do this for both the income & expenses template buttons). So now each time you use those 2 template buttons it will automatically relate that new database entry with your summary database. Hope this helps 🙌🏼

im having problems to show the information on the overveiw section, it shows 0 even if i upload my info, i think its a relation problem
Everything is working on my end. Make sure you're using the template buttons and that they have the summary database entries selected.

@@matss8779 I discovered the issue. It doesn't work if the overview database entries is automatically related when you duplicate it. You have to remove them and set it up manually yourself. (edit the 2 template buttons, remove the overview database entries from the relation, exit out of the template button, then go back in and add them)

Hi Chris i bought your finance tracker and I got struggled with a problem like whenever I use the finance tracker to add an income it’s updates in my bank account but when Im adding an expense the amount in the account stays the same I tried everything to fix it but I don’t know what to do😭 need your help!
Hi just double check in your bank account the roll up properties. Make sure the finance tracker is selected, and it's counting the sum of the income/expense properties. This is likely the problem 🙌🏼

It is in the Life OS but not the summary database. Gonna be updating the Life OS today and include buttons and the habit tracker into the calendar as well so if you buy you'll get an email containing the updated dashboard along with everybody else

Well you can add it as a "bank account" and do it that way. You can also link an income/expense to multiple properties in your bank accounts database 🙌🏼
The Total & 2023 in the overview doesn't display anything
Make sure you're using the template buttons when adding new income or expenses and that they're related to the those 2 database entries. (click the dropdown next to new, edit the template button, and make sure both are added as a relation)

Yes, just go into your Notion settings and under language and region you should be able to translate Notion

No, that requires a much more complex Notion database and formulas

Sorry but this Notion is a bit dumb. Basically you become dependent on Notion. Exporting the CSV file does not work in Notion to keep the tracker.
If you're going to export database entries from Notion as a CSV file each time so you can still use Google sheets or Excel then using Notion doesn't make sense for you. The whole idea behind Notion is that you don't have to use Excel, word, notes or any of the other apps. Notion is for anyone but not for everyone 🤷🏼♂️

If it is about finance, I would like to work with raw files that do not depend on a company's pricing policies and potential bankruptcy. For a few years though it probably works perfectly fine, just maybe not for the next 50.
