Hey, True Gardeners!! Thank you so much for tuning in! I love the community we have built together. 😁 Please leave a few comments that I can answer in future videos.
Nice! I’m glad you mentioned rock - I knew you had spoken of the pros and cons of it before but couldn’t remember which was better for plants. PS - I just got a load of 15 Clusia, 4 red copper leaf (they didn’t have Blaze), and 10 foxtail ferns. I’m so excited.
Another great video! I'm planning to make a little path from the lanai to the back gate, with planting on either side of the path. Would the Indian Creek Rock work well with stepping stones?
So I put fruit trees in my landscaping. I started to make guilds. I put wood chips in that area so I didn’t have to water so much. Now in the backyard i am incorporating some tropical landscaping into the area with the fruit trees. I hope it works out. Mine has wood chips on it now. I think it is okay for now because it will take time for them to grow and it is soooooo hot.
Thank You for your videos. Is there another name for the tahitian granite rock that you mentioned? and where can i find in South Florida. Thanks in advance.
Yes I use it under the rocks because usually the plant choices for stone beds tend to be more of an open planting while mulch planting seems to be mainly braided plants and do not do as well with the cover of weed barrier it tends to weaken the plants growth habit.
Love your videos so much! I am in Stuart and you have helped me make so many plant decisions. I just planted curly Java white copper leaf. I was hoping they got to about 6ft tall, are they all dwarf or is that a specific variety you planted?
Gorgeous landscape! I love the look but I personally don’t like rocks. As I plant quite often and moving rocks would be annoying. I like to amend my soil too. Weeds also grow in between it.
The stone looks beautiful! Especially, when you mix the different colors and textures. I myself am a big fan of mulch but went with stone at the advice of the landscaper we hired. He said that mulch would attract bugs more to the house 😔. I like the clean look of stone but weeds still come through. I’m constantly weeding 😂.
Yes weeds 😩I end up spraying with round up three to four times a year to keep the rock clean. I hope one day to find a better solution for getting rid of weeds.
Hello love your channel have learned lots …just have question my concern with using mulch over stone is snakes…how do you handle them getting comfy in your mulch?
I have a medium sized semi-circle shaped, garden bed (about 8 ft x 10ft) that I would like to add a small palm tree as the focal point. I like the triple bottle palm. It is under an oak tree, and gets evening sun. So it is shaded all day and then sun after 4 PM. What would you recommend?

Really beautiful job.
I personally don't put mulch against building(s).

I love your work! Do you use weed blocker fabric underneath the rocks and/or the mulch?

😅 Do you have any experience with Bahama Rock? Do you install landscape fabric under your rock?

Do you plant the bromeliads in the ground/soil? Or maybe in pure gravel?
