Omgggg im so GRATEFUL to have found your channel. I have yet to go through all of your videos but thus far you have seemed to be the most helpful and transparent. So many people are making videos about their transition but there’s still a level of mysticism behind it with use of vague statements. Like i get it! We all have different skills and experiences but dear goodness gracious can SOMEONE give me a base lump sum amount of what I’ll need to move?! I’m not a business owner so I’d be looking for work, where can I find work? Are there jobs that pay in USD? Would you recommend shipping your belongings/car or selling? Etc.
I’m not to versed in the work life just because I don’t work here. But I’d check remote jobs or maybe English teacher ? Maybe Google jobs that Americans do in SA on visas. No jobs pay in USD because we use the Rand. So you must work remotely for the U.S. to get USD. I sold my belongings, I think shipping is extremely costly. I’m not sure the amount you’d need because our circumstances are different. But I’d prepare for about 3-6 months of funds that cover housing, cars, gas, food, monthly bills from the states and bills here, and shopping. You can get alot of info from researching on Google, you may even find some estimates to move
Chase hit me too, like crazy. I use remitly but big transactions I can't do❤ I was approached through a realtor with currencies direct. You buy and lock in your rate. And don't pay fees for for every transfer fee.
I’m lowkey addicted to window-shopping (adding to my lists) on the takealot app 😅 but yah it’s great, and woolies is more expensive for some stuff but it’s good to download the apps of the shops you shop at, like checkers, clicks, dis-chem, mr price, pick&pay (p&p, pnp), shoprite, spar, woolies, maybe pep…
@@TayllorChanise right, and girl samee lol and I’m guessing you’ve already got the school ones like edana parent, d6 connect, and taptuck too, if their school uses those anyway (if they even go to some type of school yet lol) those are important too (: but yes, alllll the apps heh any more I should get?
Yeah the air n n b with no power was shocking to me, fool me once, never again..I started not assuming they would understand the service of renting your place to someone but not offering power or wifi, 😕 yeah shocking to say the least. But to each his own.
Yes you can but of course you gonna need a permanent Visa for that. You should check out Mansa Mayne, he's an American TH-camr that recently moved here in SA and he bought himself a condo in Sandton.

Keep doing this kind of work by helping Black Americans
I will!
WhatsApp is used a lot here in SA especially with family and friends are trying to contact you and school purposes too.
I’ve grown to really like it. At first it was difficult for me to remember to use it.
Can you share which cellphone you recommend. Thanks for all your hard work.

@@TayllorChanise So, you just switch insert a MTN Sim card.

What apps do you recommend for hotels in Johannesburg?
Honestly I typically just use Expedia but I’m sure you can just google them too by searching for hotels or accommodation in a particular area
Can I buy a house Or condo in SA from the us ?

You can but honestly after traveling there 6 xs I would not suggest that at all.
Yes you can. Need some type of visa. You can even invest with a tourist visa. Just bought a house in KZN.
