I haven't seen the 1999 version yet, but I've seen little scenes on TH-cam, that were not included in the other one. I also want to read the manga (I heard a few days ago that the Mangaka finally announced to continue it!!!)
I haven't finished it but i have seen up until York New. There's an added bonus phase on 1999, and it's my fav, both Hanzo and Kurapika gets to shine, Hanson showing his leadership skills and Kurapika's intellect, it my fav and I'm sad they cut it, the phase was after Trick tower and before zevil island.
