This is wonderful! Your parents would be so proud. Where we grew up shaped us so it’s nice to see your connection to Berwyn. Thanks for all the community projects you and your wife do in the Chicago area.
I just love your videos Roy. I'm going to have to learn botanical plant names though lol. Would you consider doing a video for us common name gardeners. I know common names change per region but I'd love to see a video with common plant names 😄. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us. I just love your smiles. I'm so happy for you to contribute a garden in your hometown in remembrance of your Mom and Dad!! What a wonderful thing!
thanks Stacey for your kind comments. This is not an unusual request...I know this is somewhat of a barrier for people but botanical names are essential for me because a plant can have a dozen 'common' names and all mean the same thing or slight variations there of. There are many resources available online that can bridge the gap...one that I like can be found here: www.shootgardening.co.uk/index/plants. This index will provide the botanical name, common name/s and lots of info on the growth rate and growth habit of many perennials. Hope this helps!
What was the drill? A special drill for planting? Inspired by your work, I will have to plant some 20.000 seedlings in my summer house next year, I really need your advise . Thank you!
An auger drill bit that can be used on a cordless drill would work....like this: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WPBZ4HJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
What a beautiful way to remember your parents... with each bloom they will be with you.... Can't wait to see it next Spring!
thank you!
You make us proud for being a distinguished landscaper with native perennials and always remembering your own roots were planted in Berwyn, IL. 👏👏
