Love the reaction! I was blessed growing up in this era and the area I lived in. Some of the greatest artists would cross the border into Windsor Ontario and try out their stuf. Nugent, Seger, GFR, a whole slew of Motown acts (Aretha, Diana, the Temptations) we got the rock AND soul! It was our local radio station CKLW "THE BIG 8" the act's were trying to impress for airtime. Great memories!
Remember my mom jamming to this when I was a child...great song choice! Those boys knew how to blend funk and rock so well. Listening to you do a great impression of an old school radio DJ and watching your reaction to the song is just icing on the cake. Keep up the good work! P.S. it's a spin on Marvin Gaye's "Can I Get a Witness"
" can I get a witness" is a common church phrase ,with the members answering "Amen". Soul Brothers 6 ,along with JohnEllison..wrote this in 66 and were 5 Armstrong brothers who started singing in Church..The "Inspiration" for the phrase "can I get a witness" didnt come From Marvin Gaye.
In the late 60s this band was at the top of all my friends play list I had just started smoking them funny cigarettes and you just turned up the volume let it rip
This song may be a classic but you, my always beautiful queen and woman crush everyday, are some kind of wonderful. Not only that, you're so amazing, smart and made my days better with your beauty, your smile, your humor and your voice.
So Grand Funk is from the town of Flint Michigan. The Grand Trunk Railroad passed through Flint and in 1974 the train bridge that had the words GRAND TRUNK RAILROAD on it was painted over to say GRAND FUNK RAILROAD. They became so big that it is rumored that they never corrected it. I just happen to pass by Flint in 2014, 40 years after is was painted over. I googled the address of the bridge and to my surprise it still said GRAND FUNK RAILROAD.
couple more really good songs by Grand Funk they are in still in my top 25 all time favorite bands Mean Mistreater - Grand Funk Railroad - 1970 th-cam.com/video/KX6UFTXby0w/w-d-xo.html Aimless Lady - Grand Funk Railroad - 1970 th-cam.com/video/gDE4UlKNvoc/w-d-xo.html
The channel has apparently changed to (Scribes pay per View channel) And she will do ALL requests. However it seems only if you pay. As I have noticed? She doesn't take anymore free requests. However I do dig your reactions. As though they seem to have changed a bit. Since you have started taking only donation requests.
This is now called (Scribes pay per View channel) she will do the (Grand Funk Railroad) song (I'm your captain) However that's only if you pay. As apparently she doesn't take anymore free requests. (As I have noticed)

Thank you GTA, really expanded my music library.
"Can I Get A Witness" was the title of a Marvin Gaye song, hence the inspiration :-)

There’s a TH-cam video of them doing the song Black Licorice live in the early 70s. It’s mind blowing.

Grand Funk Railroad - I'm Your Captain
GFR We're an American Band.
Allman Brothers - Revival is another feel good tune with that rock-gospel flavor.
Little scribe you can sing pretty good. You should do a cover CD of some classic rock songs. Just to see how you would do them.
Failure to move to this song is legal proof of death
Killer song
Excellent! Check Destitute and Losin for what is arguably one of Grand Funk's best!
You would have been a great radio DJ back in those days.
