The BEST frozen Key Lime Pie is one can of Minute Maid frozen Limeade concentrate added to one 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk and 8 oz of Cool Whip mixed gently together and poured into a graham cracker crust pie shell (or two if you want to add whipped cream to the top- don't fill as high) and freeze. Abso-freekin-lutely scrumptious! Easy and way cheaper.
I feel like if they only have a Great Value version it'll be good. If they have GV and a Sam's Choice -- the GV will be terrible and the Sam's Choice will be good.
Pretty much *all* store brand/knockoff groceries are like Russian Roulette. Sometimes you luck into the "nearly indistinguishable" popsicle jackpot, sometime you're hit with the "key lime pie" Whammy
I was gonna say. Real key lime pie is tart. Most the frozen pies they go overboard with sugar to try to appeal to the masses. My great aunt used to live down there and had a tree in her back yard. She would mail us key limes and we used to make pies when I was a kid. BTW the GV key lime pie is great.

But it is a nasty ass tart taste. And you can make one yourself using real ingredients for a few dollars more so frankly it is not worth wasting your money on. With already made pie crusts and bottled juices its so much easier to make homemade stuff these days. I still prefer making my own crusts and squeezing my own juices so my age is showing on that one. My mama dropped a Betty Crocker cookbook on the table in front of me when I was a kid and complained about one of her meals. She told me "don't like it. Learn to make it yourself." So I did.

I freakin love ice cream sandwiches. I use the great value brand to make ice cream "cakes" during the summer. 2 boxes of the minis (they stack/line up better without having to trim down the size) a thin layer of homemade butter cream to lock them together and one more layer of minis with a healthy amount of butter cream on top. Trouble is keeping them frozen while you're working with them. You gotta put it back in the freezer about half way through assembly. You can add oreos, sprinkles, whatever you want.

Check out the ingredients on Great Value ice cream in the sandwiches. Almost identical to Breyers. The reason ice cream melts quickly is because it has been pumped full of air, to hide product shrinkage. The Great Value containers of ice cream are very good, better than any name brand with the exception of Tillamook. The filled cones are bigger and better. Their pasta sauce is almost as clean as Rao's. The cookies are better than name brand, using tempered chocolate which takes time and knowledge verses what most do instead, adding wax to their chocolate. Frozen "fancy" green beans far better than major brands. Sara Lee makes their bread and coffee, Conagra some of their sausages and flours. Kellogg's makes their Great Value cereal. Ziplock makes their store brand bags. Sadly, I had no choice but to check all of these out when our stores were out of everything during the virus height.
A deciding factor should also be how many ounces/grams you get. Great value might be a better buy until you realize you get 50% of the product too (and vice versa). You might actually be paying MORE for less of an inferior product.

The Great Value drumsticks / ice cream cones are indistinguishable for me, except the GV have cone crumble pieces instead of crushed peanuts on top (which isn't necessarily a bad thing)!
They actually have 2-3 types of cones for GV. peanuts, cookie crumble, and Idr if I've seen the cone topping before. In my opinion, they're all good. Lol

so glad blue bells rep is correct. when it comes to the no sugar added popsicle, don't do the great value. the only ones that i have worth anything are outshines. all the others are more like icicles than popsicles, they are much harder. HEB used to have some that were really good for their brand, but then they went and changed it and they aren't as good.

Not the freezer section, but Great Value Brownie Mix wins, hands-down. Another youtuber had 3 chefs try 25 different brownies and they came in 3rd place behind some stores we don't have in our area, like Trader Joe's and another specialty store. So I went to go try them and they did not disappoint. I went back a second time to buy more and they were sold out . . . twice. I think I'm not the only person who saw that youtube video!

Great value products are either a better more affordable version of the real thing or a terrible cheap knockoff.

Lime juice does an amazing job tenderizing pork, ribs can be done in a hour on a charcoal grill with a couple bottles of lime juice

My go to cologne is whiskey with vanilla beans in it for a few months, you do not want to drink it that way, but smells great

What I learned from this is that I can get a WHOLE pie cheaper than a box of ice cream sandwiches.
Not the freezer section, but Great Value Brownie Mix wins, hands-down. Another youtuber had 3 chefs try 25 different brownies and they came in 3rd place behind some stores we don't have in our area, like Trader Joe's and another specialty store. So I went to go try them and they did not disappoint. I went back a second time to buy more and they were sold out . . . twice. I think I'm not the only person who saw that youtube video!
