Heart shape leafs with alternative leaves not opposite one another like normal shrubs of similar look.
It also blooms yearly
They don't penetrate walls they find the gaps and get through
No real guarantee of getting rid of it too😮

Japanese knot weed actually have tons of medicinally beneficial properties DONT get rid of your Japanese knot weed people. I wouldn’t allow this plant to grow next to my house but in my garden absolutely.
