well one of the things I stated that needed to be changed appears to have been implimented. A hoard Call pulls the puppets in the area rather than spawning in a bunch randomly. The spawn radius needs to be greatly increased, and not be based on distance from player, but player distance from POI, at the least for the puppet spawns, if it get's changed to that, it will 1 reduce server load, because rather than constantly checking what spawn locations are in range, it just needs to check, are playhers in range of POI puppet encounter? if yes, load the puppets for the POI, if no, start timer, if timer ends, despawn any puppets at POI. if player re-enters range, reset timer. By making the spawns a radius around the player, you absolutely get what we are seeing here. But if we change it, it can be better, more immersive, and feel closer to what it was before, while still taking advantage of the performance gains of the encounter management system.
I feel you accurately describe a scenario that could resemble the old spawn system: spawns were (and should be again) POI-centered and not player-centered, but they are player-triggered.
@@hedwigmathijs3717 Im trying to find out if the NPCs are going to be at the POI when they come in or spawn like the puppets as you get now, which surely cant work so NPCs need to be there but if you get puppets spawn as they do now then its going to get funky, that's the one thing im thinking about and how are they going to do that
Hmmmm, That not what happened to us . In a few occasions, we fought some lone puppets, then suddenly noticing 3-4 puppets running towards us, then you hear the shout 2-3 seconds later, then you see more puppets coming in. Happened in 2 towns with police station.
Don’t forget at the end I did say I’m on my own and probably be different with more than one player as that’s when it gets harder due to the settings 👍🏼
For the puppets? atm with the way they are spawning its pretty hard, its just enough of a challenge avoiding them when they spawn right on you, once its sorted ans the NPCs are in and its all settle then challenges i will find👍🏻but apart from that my server has always been a challenge but a good balanced one
nice vid, thanks. But no hordes at all when called just means broken, no? TBH it's like before the introduction of the hordes except for the sound and the bush spawning
Thanks rocky 👊🏻👊🏻that's exactly what i thought, it seems like before when we had the old puppets and you made noise all those in the vicinity just come, its better than having all the popcorn puppets but im still on the fence with the way the spawn just after you get somewhere but at least its doable now,its a good fix we just need more tweaking now
They still spawning on you that is not what we wanted. I was at the bottom of the map checkout a bunker, there was no puppets there search the entire bunker and when I stepped outside I here footsteps in the grass and what do you know a puppet spawned out of nowhere.
This system has caught them right out I just hope this gets nailed soon as! It’s frustrating to play even if it seems like they have fixed them a little
This seems frustrating but it seems a LOT better than before. I didn’t play much since the update but before when I was in bunkers I’d clear a room and then clear the next room. But right after clearing the next room I’d hear zombies in the first room I cleared. Making it IMPOSSIBLE to just clear out the bunker.
I agree. Scopes and rifles are still useless. Not sure they will ever get it right if they stick to just this encounter manager that only spawns in puppets around you when you are already at the POI...
The Devs are not far off getting it right, like you’re saying, they could increase the distance which will bring back the immersion and ability to scope and snipe the puppets. The games definitely not broken and they don’t deserve all the hate some of the community are dishing out.
You would expect to be able to snipe NPCs when they come in so the puppets have to be working tip top by then and be able to be seen from afar otherwise it could get funky, that's the one thing im waiting to see how it works, 100% too much negativity towards them its quite small minded for something thats not finished yet lol
