I came across 'All the Colors of the Dark' last night while I was scrolling the available e-books at my library. I read a sample of it, and it grabbed me right away. The hold for the library was 18-weeks, but I didn't want to wait that long. I purchased the audiobook version and got so hooked on it that I went ahead and purchased the Kindle version as well. It's so good! I'm on chapter 16.
Hi Heth! Ooh, I’m so excited for you to be reading this and I’m so happy to hear you’re loving it! Let me know what you think when you finish. Thank you so much for watching 💕
Hi Heather, I don’t read horror, but your young adult books are everything! I’ve just got into reading young adults and even middle grade since joining the community. I’m going to look for mosquito land right away as well as the other young adult you talked about. I also read fight night and loved it and I’m interested in where the heart is. Can you believe I’ve never heard of it? A great coming of age and novel that is not at all known on book tube is “Nilda“ by Nicholasa Mohr about a Puerto Rican girl coming of age in 1940s NYC. Great video! I’ve never heard of “where the heart is” but I’m going to look for it now. Aloha friend.
Hi Marilyn! Natalie Portman and Ashley Judd are in the Where the Heart Is movie and it is almost as good. Of course the book is great. Thank you for the recco, I’ll check it out. Mahalo for watching 🌸 💕
I’ve loved The Lincoln Highway, We Begin at the End, A Boy and His Dog at the End of the World and Boy’s Life. Some of the books you’ve talked about I wasn’t familiar with so have added them to my list. December Park is another good coming of age book by Ronald Malfi. This was a great video Heather!
Hi Heather! I absolutely loved Broken. I listened to the audio book many years ago and it has always stayed with me. Ordinary Grace is one of my all-time favorites as well. If you have not read Red Sky at Morning by Richard Bradford, I highly recommend it. I read it in high school, many, (so many!) years ago. 😊Most of the book takes place in New Mexico which really resonated with me as I grew up in Southern Colorado and we would regularly visit friends/family in New Mexico. As always loved your video!
Hi Lorraine! Thanks for the recco, I’ll check it out. Also, did you know there’s a movie for Broken? It’s got a great cast. Thanks so much for watching 💕
Hi Heather. I love William Kent Krueger, I love his series, read them all waiting on the new one.. I really liked The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. Oh, I just loved Where the Heart is. I think everyone who reads The Secret Life of Bees has to love it. Agree on She's Come Undone. Loved The Lincoln Highway. I LOVED All the Ugly and Wonderful Things! And I agree totally on Demon Copperhead. There's definitely some books you talk about that I'm going to have to pick up. Pet is intriquing.
Hi Linda! I guess I didn’t include THIF because the story spans his entire life?🤷🏼♀️ I’m so glad to hear your loved ATCOTD! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you so much for watching 💕
I also love a good coming of age story. I’ve read and really enjoyed most from this video, including Tell the Wolves I’m Home, The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate, Pet, All the Colors of the Dark, We Begin at the End…You definitely added some to my TBR too. OMG-Thanks for mentioning Where the Heart Is. I remember that book but can never think of the title. A few I would highly recommend to you include The Summer That Melted Everything, Betty, The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise, and I Who Have Never Known Men.
Hi Sarah! I’m glad you found some books to add. It tickles me that Where the Heart Is had the effect on you it did. Perhaps a re-read in your near future??Thank YOU for the recommendations! And for watching 💕
Wow! So many books I've not even heard of! I've read 2 - To Kill A Mockingbird and Demon Copperhead. I love TKAM!! DC was just meh for me. I stayed in a knot , waiting for the physical/sexual abuse to start. Drug addiction is so very sad but has been around as long as mankind. Not something I enjoy reading about. I'm off to research more from your list. Thank you!
Hi bj! I’m glad you found some books to spark your interest. About DC, I guess I don’t enjoy reading about drug abuse/addiction either; however, I DO like reading how people overcome it. Thank you so much for watching 💕

Thanks for the recommandations. I would also recommend The Little Friend by Donna Tartt. 35:12
Hi Pouncy! I have read that. I loved the first third and the last 100 pages, but the middle didn’t work for me. Thank you so much for watching 💕
