🔱📿😲 The Way of SHIVA and BUDDHA | Sadhguru REACTION | Sadhguru on Buddha vs Shiva Difference

  • In this latest Sadhguru Reaction Video, Sabine and Roger watch, listen and react to Sadhguru on the Way of Shiva and Buddha. Sadhguru discusses the difference between Buddha vs Shiva in detail. Shiva Reaction and Buddha Reaction in this Wisdom of India Reaction by Foreigners Video.
A questioner wonders, what is the difference between the way of Buddha and of Shiva? Sadhguru answers, it is not a question of difference, rather, of which aspect of Shiva that Buddha explored. He describes the way in which the spine of the spiritual process offered by Shiva was spread through the work of Agastya Muni, Buddha and others.
Yogi, mystic and visionary, Sadhguru is a spiritual master with a difference. An arresting blend of profundity and pragmatism, his life and work serves as a reminder that yoga is a contemporary science, vitally relevant to our times.

In this context, i remember one of the famous stories of the Buddha when he was sitting under one tree with his disciples. He took some leaves in his hand and ask
the disciples if they can see any other leaves besides those in his hands. His favorite disciple Ananda said, the leaves of autumn are falling from all sides and there are thousands of leaves more than can be numbered. Buddha smiled and said, likewise i have given you a handful of truths but there are thousands of other truths more than can be numbered!. Attaining Samadhi is not the end but that is just an beginning to experience the infinite!! Hari Anant Hari Katha Anant!! Shubham Bhawatu.

@@danukashewantha3029 You must read Tripurantaka episode, it is fascinating.
Asuras (Assyrians i.e. Iraqis) had three cities (Tripuras). It was a confederation of 3 city-states
      a) Ur, Akkadian,
      b) Uruk, Sumerian,
      c) Ninevah, Assyria.
Initially, they were worshippers of Shiva (because their ancestors had migrated from India to Iraq). But, Asuras (Assyrians i.e. Iraqis) had a love-hate relationship with Devas (Indians). There were wars on the borders, but also marital relationship & trade & knowledge exchange.
Around 1700-1500 BCE, Asuras (Assyrians i.e. Iraqis) converted to Buddhism. After their conversion to Buddhism, there was a massive earthquake in mediterranean & middle east which caused volcanic eruptions, floods & tsunamis. The 3 powerful city-states of Assyrians (Iraqis) were destroyed.
Indian epics remember this history as Tripurantaka (Shiva). Indians believed that Assyrian cities were destroyed due to anger of Shiva for giving up on Shaivism & converting to Buddhism... It is just a way of remembering an important occassion in human civilization.

Shiva has as his avatar Mahākāla, literally meaning “great” + “darkness or blackness”, which correspond to the Chinese ideographs 大 + 黑 (Dà hēi). ... @@minthura9053 I see caste system as varna you can deny it but you definitely fit into the caste system somewhere.
It isn't a bad structure, it became bad when people made it rigid as in one could not attain qualities of other varnas it turmoiled to disgusting discrimination.
That's the societal aspect of Hinduism. And is the reason for survival of Hinduism since ancient times. There have been many Indian modern times who defied rigid caste system and to protect society gained qualities of particular varna and followed their dharma. For example, chatrapati shivaji maharaj he was a shudra in modern rigid concept yet bcz invaders in India were very cruel he lift the sword and followed his righteous Kshatriya dharma 1000 times better than corrupt Kshatriyas at the time.
It's the qualities of one that decide varna and dharma.
As of today I'd be a shudra as a mere engineer. If time comes I might become Brahmin or get out of this all being a sadhu.

Once Buddha took a few leaves from a tree and showed them to his disciples. He then pointed at the tree and said that what he has discovered is the tree and he is only giving them a few leaves of that tree. Because the rest of the part is not useful in the path of ending suffering which is the main teaching of Buddha.

Glad you 2 beautiful souls are exploring shiva!
Would like to mention, there is a huge possibility of shiva being an extraterrestrial being, even Sudguru doesn't reject that and also he doesn't speak more on that since Indians are very sensitive when it comes to shiva's topic. Shiva has a height of about 10 ft as per ancient texts, also his semen is highly potent that it can reproduce 7 women at a time and his time gaps are 10-15 years (when he leaves and come back Kailash, which is highly suspicious) and the amount of knowledge he owns ( humanly impossible) and the time he took to divide and transfer that knowledge to sapta rishis ( 7 sages) is beyond imaginable, and lastly out of 33 million gods shiva's origin is only not mentioned in any texts and yet he has a profound role in Hinduism...like this many interesting things are mentioned. Read more on shiva guys. it's really interesting!

High respect for Sadhguru jhi. I listen to his words all the time which gives immense peace and harmony. What I would like to add is it’s not right to compare Shiva and Buddha. Shiva is one of the three gods in Hindu Triumvirate. Shiva is said to be the destroyer god and most powerful god in Hindu religion. Whereas Buddha is not a god as in creator or destroyer. He was born as a human like any of us in one of Shakya Clan. Later after tremendous hardship and pain he became the enlightened one which is highest level of awareness one can achieve. He’s free from the cycle of rebirth, free from samsara. He is said to be a teacher, philosopher and a spiritual leader.
Nothing disrespect but Sadhguruji words sounded little more biased towards Shiva. He could have used better words to explain the difference. No love lost. Deep respect to Sadhguru ji.

Gautama Buddha and Lord Shiva are very great people. But we are only a very small group of people who try to follow them. We should try to assimilate at least one of the qualities they taught us into our lives. But we should not compare them.
We don't know where we lived before, and we don't know where we will be born after death.
That is why it is most important for us humans to live well with the human spirit we have received.

I would like to add , there is a text called 'Satapatha Brahmana' where 1000 ways to know Atma has been mentioned. so what ever the path is being followed any where in this world to know Atma has already been thought off. So all path of salvation lead to shiva.

Hindus generally consider Lord Buddha as the ninth incarnation of Lord Vishnu and hence a human manifestation of the supreme being. Sadhguru however follows and promotes Shaivism which is only one of the many denominations of Hinduism. 🙏
