My teacher was so lucky, she let me take care of our class pet hamster over the summer and me, being the little nerd I was, researched every day for months. Oof, my IQ has plummeted since then.
My dad agreed to finally let me get a hamster this year for my birthday, but he knew nothing of the care. So, he spent around $50 on a tiny PetSmart cage and I felt bad having to tell him that that’s not the proper cage. It’s sad because he told me every hamster cage he’s seen was the tiny colorful cages used to attract children. He had good intentions, because he bought the cage cause it was the biggest he could find.
A similar situation happened with my mother. She had got a tiny tales critter cage(or whatever it’s called) from a friend along with some other stuff. I also had to tell her that it wasn’t the proper size. I felt bad because she had really liked how cute the cage was, it was a pink castle shaped cage. I’m glad cause I did get some stuff I could put to use that came with the cage. I’m also really proud of myself because I had confronted them about it. Usually I’m more of a closeted person and I don’t really share my opinion on things, and I don’t really interact with people. That kinda also led up to my parents not believing I could take care of a hamster. They think I’m just simply asking for a pet cause i think it’s cute. They don’t realize that I’m actually serious about wanting one and it’s not just on impulse. I’ve wanted a hamster for years and I’ve done plenty of research over that time. Sorry, I tend to ramble often! The video was great though on a side note!

For the question about “Are hamsters hypoallergenic”:
No they aren’t, but the allergies aren’t that bad. I have really bad animal allergies and dust allergies as well, but I’ve had hamsters since I was 6. As long as you don’t rub them all over your face you’re fine (and you shouldn’t be doing that anyways), and you could also wash your hands after if you wanna be careful, but it’s not that necessary. Even after playing with my hamsters a lot and stuff, the only allergies it triggers is a couple of sneezes. The bedding doesn’t cause any allergies either, but it does make me sneeze when I clean the cage.

A year ago I got my first hamster but after a month her leg had to get amputated then I found Victoria reachal and thanks to her she managed to make my hamsters life so much better and I just wanted to say thankyou
I had two hamsters Martha and Melora . Both broke a leg and had it amputated. Martha did OK for several months after, Mel didn't and died of anal prolapse a few weeks later. Heartbreaking.
When I was younger I had a hamster and on the first day some how his leg got cut off in his cage. It was pretty scary and I still dont know how it happened but my dad took care of it and he lived a long, happy life.

Yesterday I went to the pet store I over heard this girl was buying a critter trail for three dwarf hamsters I was in the area of the hamster chews it was the hamster aisle so I saw she didn’t get the right things she didn’t know what to get for them that she had to get help from the employee of course they are going to give wrong information she walked up to the chew section where I was in the employee said “I think that is all” I was about to give her good advice but I was to shy I feel so bad that those hamsters left with her😔
Its okay, you shouldn't feel guilty. Even if you did tell her, she probably wouldn't listen, or she wouldn't have enough money to buy a large enclosure. Besides, my cousin was talking about getting a hamster, and she said syrians were the SMALLEST, but I was too shy to say anything. TO MY COUSIN. So don't feel bad. You are an amazing hamster owner! and if you dont have a hamster, you would be an amazing one!

My hamster is really vocal 😂 he stays in a different room than i stay in and at least once a day I'll walk in there and he just runs to the opening and squeaks at me because he normally gets fed when I go in there and for some reason its so cute🥰 i was worried the first time and took him to the vet and theres nothing wrong with him, hes just far more vocal than most hamsters

i don't know where to say this, but i just want to say thank you. your patience and openness when answering questions, providing correct information and dealing with misconceptions has probably saved so many hamsters.
your videos are really clear and concise, too, and you never get angry or upset at people when they have bad care or misconceptions - it's really nice to see as i see so many people get angry or aggressive when dealing with bad care, and it just makes the person feel harassed or attacked, which means they don't listen.

Because of you I got my hamster last week! He is so cute! He is a winter white! He is the sweetest thing and let’s everyone pet him. He has never bit me and is so sweet! His name is pickles and smells like popcorn! It’s the cutest thing!
Victoria I just wanted to tell you this,
Me and my family got a winter white dwarf 2 days ago (her name is marshmallow) she is a month old. Prior to getting her me and my mom did so much research and it all lead up to your channel. We watched your channel to get educated on our hamster, your channel is educating while very entertaining. You helped us find the right sized habitat ( we are using a exo terest large and low terrarium) marshmallow loves her home so much, we took your advice on food, toys, wheels, water bottles etc. My mom made a cardboard box into a little home for her and she loves it! I have some concerns that she isn't doing; marshmallow hasn't burrowed at all since we got her from the family owned pet shop or used her 6.5 inch wheel or dranken from the same water bottle you have. Do you have any suggestions or anything to help her do these things? Here is a bit more info we got her 2 days ago and she is EXTREMELY social with me and I will start taming her tomorrow in the afternoon ( me and my mom have watched your taming videos and we will be using sunflower seeds) Have anything to recommend! I wish you the best of your day :) I'm 11(almost 12 turning 12 august 11th) on my mums yt account lol
I’m so happy I could help, it sounds like you’ve done everything right! I assume she’s just settling in still, it’s likely she’s drinking water and maybe using the wheel when you’re not around. As for burrowing how much bedding does she have? It can also help to have a tunnel buried to help start a burrow
@@VictoriaRaechel she has a good 6 inches and after she woke up she just burrowed, she drank some water after waking up to which is good! again tysm for all these informative videos!
