People who watch this battle and make disparaging comments about Hiroki or the judges probably either learned about Soraki from Red Bull, have never actually seen Hiroki dance, or have little dancing experience. Don't get me wrong, I know that Soraki is definitely one of Japan's greatest dancers. And the judges know that too. It can't be said that there is no arrogance when it comes to dance battles, but in front of a dancer as talented as Soraki, background and age are meaningless. Then, listen carefully to the audience's reaction during the second round. It is clear that Hiroki killed him.

It is really surprising that Soraki did not win this battle, could the judges have been corrupted? His opponent didn't give me the impression of being superior to Soraki. Soraki exudes joy, happiness, he's a good loser but I'm disgusted for him, he deserved to win.
@@lizzil6604 The Japanese judges should be proud of Soraki by giving him the victories he deserves instead of giving it to others to break his ego and his pride. Watching this video, I have the strong impression that he was set up for a dirty trick.
I will add that I can appreciate that the Japanese style of dance has been under appreciated and that many of the OGs are due much respect. But that said, D Soraki has taken it to a new level that the world has recognized and appreciated. Ive listened to some of his interviews and have no doubt that he is more than capable of spinning on his head, doing flips, etc but he truly loves the art of dance and understandable doesn't want to risk breaking his neck to impress people....and he doesn't need to. 🤙🏻

I really think it's a preference thing. Hiroki is a glider...his feet rarely leaves the ground. In fact, he looks mostly at the ground while figuring out where his arms and feet should move. It looks so limited, boring and lack of energy IMO. He's only teaching the child how to be lazy. Soraki maintain constant eye contact with his opponent, let the music control his body and exude positivity until the very end.

Being controlled and hitting the details of the music is much much harder than just jumping to the bounce. Being controlled is not limiting, it is freedom because then he can get creative with what he knows. I can guarantee you that if hiroki were to imitate same moves as soraki, he would still do it better, simply because he got way more control and mature musical sense.
