This was dope and really a testament to how good those older EF lenses are and how well they hold up. I thought for sure these were RF lenses initially.
Thanks for clarifying, I was wondering why the video looked the way it did, I‘m not saying that the EF lens is bad, it just has it’s character that is very distinct. I’ll always still have a few Ef lenses even as I’m preparing to move to mirrorless cameras, the R5 as my main camera.
Mr. To, I am going to say something I never thought that I would say: I may have found the heir to Ron Fricke, who shot and directed my favorite film of all time, Baraka. (His follow-up "Samsara" is also wonderful.) Wordless storytelling that combines beautifully-shot images with music -- many of tried since 1992, few have succeeded and even fewer like you. I can't wait to see what you do in a longer form.
Such an amazing and stunning video. Great job and thanks for sharing. I have a question. Are you gonna change the white balance on every single clip? Or you work with awb? I am a little bit confused. Lets say i want to achieve a warm look throughout the whole video. Do i need to set the same WB to every clip or do i need to set my wb different for every clip? Btw i dont work with raw. Many thanks
This is really nice. I really like the simple and calm compositions. I love the 135mm shots. Great vision. Its been 22 years since I was here, and I saw this train station every night as I commuted home to Princeton. I'm right back there. Was this all shot in one night? And: did you put the 135mm on the gimbal?
the Canon R5 is a seriously great camera. It's 8K beats any other resolution any day of the week... except for maybe the A1... That being said... I'd rather use the A7siii or Gh5 for my videos but the R5 is still amazing... keep up the great work!!!
Beautiful footage! Must admit I kinda wondered how you'd manage dealing with such large files...Whoa! Your explanation of the transfer and upload explained it all. Well done!
this photograph and images are incredible! I am very interested in buying the canon r5. could you tell me what you think about overheating in 8k raw and 4k120fps and how much it gets in the workflow? thank you
Hey Andy! Congratulations on the excellent work! I watched your 2 videos with sony a7siii and canon r5. I particularly have the impression that R5 has a more beautiful image, at least in your work. However, analyzing the a7siii as a whole, it seems to deliver a more interesting quality, especially with regard to dynamic range. Could you give feedback on your impression when working with these cameras, but mainly what they give you as an image? I'm interested in buying one of the two focusing on video, but I have a lot of doubts. thanks and hugs from Brazil
looks really great just trying to figure out why it looks so jittery looks like you had the framerate set correctly but might have rendered it wrong or vice versa you had it at 24p and and shutter speed higher then 1/50th
@@andyto AH really? I shoot a lot of music videos and to be honest I suck at manual focus, but have heard such good things about the R5 autofocus it might convince me to give it a chance.
Just got the R5. Haven't shot anything in 8k yet. Was this handheld? I guess you can't import 8k into premier? I bought the camera for stills, I don't know much about video. Also in the New York area.
The up and down bob of the motion is making me a bit seasick, very good quality footage but the movement in this one seems to be a bit wavier and Bobby than usual
Really enjoyed watching this even in 1080 on my phone. More than the camera, the person behind the lens is what makes this good.
can you point the good parts?
Story telling without having to speak, love it!
SUPER hand held shots with the crisp R5
Why handheld, the link to his gimbal is in the description
its clearly a gimbal movement.
Lol literally every shot he shoots is on a gimbal. It's actually overboard for me
@@JunsuePark exactly, looks stupid
This is easily one of the best 8K examples of the R5 that I've seen!
This speaks louder than words. WOW! This is why you continue to be my favorite! Such an inspiration.
Also von der Qualität des Videos 100% Perfektion.Die Komposition genial.Und die Musik passt wunderbar Respekt und Danke

Always my favorite Andy .. thanks for sharing this awesome stuff
the shallow depth of field in some of the shots are almost dreamlike.

Wow this was amazing....💖💪first time seeing the station at night, great video!
Beautiful footage! Must admit I kinda wondered how you'd manage dealing with such large files...Whoa! Your explanation of the transfer and upload explained it all. Well done!
well at 20 gigs per minutes if that's what i'm told too believe, that's going to be a bitch uploading it and editing.
So good..I went to New York in 2012 and this bought back memories crazy there’s no hustle B
Stunning
Nice video! Is this RAW or ALL-I? Because I still try to find the best worklflow with the RAW. Thanks!
What’s that first song dang it’s beautiful
You a bad bad boy Andy! Keep up the great work because I like to use you for some inspiration.
Awesome. Did you use a gimbal? Or was that just the IBIS?
this video has really inspired me. ty :)
Thank you so much!
Super quality man
was anyone else thinking, the guy with the duster could use his beard too? lol great vid
Haha Ikr, that's one hell of a beard!
Impressive...very relaxing and great photography too, amazing the telephoto shots. 😄😉👍🏻
This is extremely good
Well done! Great work!
this photograph and images are incredible! I am very interested in buying the canon r5. could you tell me what you think about overheating in 8k raw and 4k120fps and how much it gets in the workflow? thank you
Amazing footage. The place is empty. So sad.
Just love your work bruh♥️
Whether these are natural colors or a combination of colors .thanks 🙏
A different edit but a great edit at that! Awesome job as always :)
mit welcher Linse Brennweite hast du gefilmt
Nicely done
Great work!!!
on the other side of the business, how did you go about filming there? How does that work to film there? Are permits needed? etc
Thanks
Another door edit. Wondering how many times people come up to you after catching you filming them asking what it’s for?
So damn cool. Reminds me of Before you go central station scene. I wish I could make something like this
Hermano, tu trabajo es impecable 👌🏼 saludos desde Paraguay 🇵🇾
well done fam!
Wow Nice cinematography bro :) congrats , did you use the f1.4 all the time? also did you use any denoiser? how about overheating :) thanks
Captivating!
Really enjoyed watching this on my nokia 3210. Btw.: How many liters of liquid nitrogen did you need to cool the chip between the shots? ;)
Honestly - thank you for the video, I would never ever invest in a rolling shutter like this again 3:14
Woaow.... I swear it looks very close running at 60p which I know the R5 can’t do... how did you manage?
That low light!
How do you film them without them getting conscious about it Andy? I’m always afraid to film people that they might react to it

The R5 is amazing 😉, your work inspires me.
Looks Beautiful! What did you raise the blacks by? 5%?
looks really great just trying to figure out why it looks so jittery looks like you had the framerate set correctly but might have rendered it wrong or vice versa you had it at 24p and and shutter speed higher then 1/50th
Really nice footage...was any of this with auto focus? Just curious as it looks spot on!
Thanks! Most of it was with the auto focus on
@@andyto AH really? I shoot a lot of music videos and to be honest I suck at manual focus, but have heard such good things about the R5 autofocus it might convince me to give it a chance.
