Wes gives reasons in other videos as to why the books of the Bible were chosen. You can look it up too. There is no mystery whatsoever. Mostly, the writers couldn't be verified and most importantly, they did not fit in what the books of the Bible had already stated such as the Gospel of Thomas which states the Jesus basically says women have no value, which contradicts the Gospels and Jesus' message. Jesus elevated the status of women. He appeared to women first. He also had many women followers and women helped fund and establish the early church. Shows are limited by time set by the host so there is only so much that they can fit in.
They had other kids, several other sons mentioned in the gospels, James being one. So there's a good chance that they have some living descendants but so what? What is your point?
They would NOT be Jesus' offspring, because Jesus wasn't married and had no children. If Jesus' brothers and sisters had children and I'm sure they did, Jesus was their uncle. He was actually a stepbrother to his siblings since Joseph was not his father.
Logion 114 uses andropos akin to androgyn he is referring to the need for balance see Matthew 19: 11-12 Christ in the New Testament speaks in parables and saying’s.
Joe Rogan needs to have Wes on. It will seem dubious dubious if he isn't willing to have him on after giving a platform to all the Freemason, Muslim Brotherhood, gnostic heresies.
Wes is an underrated researcher. How much subscriber does he need to go to Joe Rogan podcast? I think we should help him reach that. Coz Joe Rogan is undeniable the top podcast hero. We love him but he need to hear the truth.
In 326 AD Constantine executed both his eldest son (by his first wife) Crispus and his second wife, Fausta. Histories of the period do not even mention it.
At 12:15 she asks the most important question and Wes Huff struggles epically to answer the question without admitting the Roman Catholic Church existed at this time , even using words like bishops , priests and deacons. He even says priests to describe people that were there and quickly corrects himself and says I mean pastors. Of course we know the truth is that there were no denominations in 325 AD and all that existed were Catholic Christians with a Pope and there would be no denominations until 1516 when Martin Luther would come on the scene.
actually he did say it existed, but was clear to say “not as we know it today”, I would guess referring to the 20 councils post nicea, most recently being the 1962-1965 Vatican 2. Don’t twist people’s words.
I'm very much convinced of the biblical account and it's historical, geographical and, theological voracity. I believe that a person's view on the Bible is the single most important thing in our lives. If Jesus is the Word as John 1:1 says then the Word (and Jesus by definition) is our literal Bread of life. Where things can easily fall off the rails is one believers understanding or interpretation of the very bread we are consuming at the soul level. The NT is very careful to point out that sound doctrine is a key ingredient to living properly and walking out what you've accepted as true. Topics such as what does it mean to under the law? What is the Law from a Jewish and Christian mindset because the two are NOT the same concepts. Judaism follows the Oral Law written in Talmudic writings as well as Tanach (OT) but it seems to place a more impactful significance on the Talmud. Christians have a fundamentally different oral tradition than Jews do and the New Testament as well but we seem to equate our own oral tradition as being NT without letting the NT differentiate itself and realign back with the OT as one single full written narrative guide. The NT does not stand alone and it cannot be fully understood or appreciate without understanding the Law, Writings, Prophets, and Psalms. This is exactly why Matthew 1:1 begins with. "The genealogy of Jesus Christ son of David, Son of Abraham." If we don't appreciate the Jewish backdrop of the NT then we have all this new "little Jesus" new age theology. Keep up the good work Wes! Bless you brother!
Do not follow any man. Take what is true, what can be backed up in the old testament and hold on to that. Don't confuse religion with God's word. May YHWH bless all those that have turned down this path to follow this gentleman....
I'm not understanding what your point is. People like Wes are greatly needed today due to the amount of error that has crept into the church. He is doing exactly what the apostles and disciples would did - defended the Gospels and the faith. There is nothing wrong with following Wes as long as one does not put him above Jesus.
@@budoboy1977 According to the Nicene Creed, the four marks of the Church are "...one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church." Just because the word "Catholic" is capitalized in the title "Roman Catholic Church" does not mean that it doesn't mean "universal" or tie itself to this creedal and indelible mark of the Church. The proper term for this church you are referring to is more precisely the "Catholic Church," because there are different historical branches in the Catholic Church that aren't "Roman." There are Eastern Catholics, Maronites, Melkites - all under the umbrella of the historical "Catholic Church" but are not "Roman." They submit to the Pontiff as Vicar of Christ. The big-C "Catholic Church" is definitionally true to the word "catholic" and this is where the name gets its meaning.
Yup. Past eternal God vs created being. And the final vote was not close, a 20 to 1 ratio. Given John 1, I don't know how Arianism ever got any traction at all.
Worship on Sunday in lieu of the sabbath I don't see it. Keeping sabbath holy is what even the apostles did through their lives Mary found the tomb empty Sunday early morning thus proving Christ rose on the sabbath they met at Pentecost on Sunday because counting of the Omer occurred on the sabbath and they rested on sabbath and met the day after which does not replaced sbbath for sunday . 49 days post passover is a sabbath and 50th would be sunday. Wish we could here an apology on sabbath vs sunday
"The Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath." What was the purpose of the Sabbath? To give people a physical and mental break, a chance to visit and socialize a bit, check in on each other, to take time out for corporate worship, and to remind everyone that God will keep the world spinning even without our "indispensible" efforts. It was, among other things, a shot across the bow of taskmasters and workaholics. It was NOT to just give people yet another law to be afraid of breaking or to show off their piety. Thus it doesn't matter which day your Sabbath is at this point, as long you observe the above-described spirit of it.
The Sabbath was a day set aside for the Jews during the time after their release from captivity in Egypt where they forgot about their God the creator and began to adopt Egyptian gods as their God and they brought this idolatrous faith with them into the wilderness. The Sabbath was never a command meant for Jews or gentiles after christ said it was finished on the cross. When Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well that there was coming a day soon that worship would not be confined to Jerusalem or the mountain of worship that the Samaritans worshipped on he was foretelling a time when the true and living God would be worshipped everywhere everyday and at all times in spirit. The Sabbath is not time set aside for God but a practice of constant and never ending worship as we are commanded to love God our father with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength in mark 12
There are 73 books in the Bible. All Christians agreed about this until the 1500s, when some people started removing books that refuted their new spinoff religion.
My friend the pope didn’t agree about this as late as 1517-1522. The compultensian polyglot was a Bible produced by Cardinal Ximenez in 1517, and received papal approval in 1522 by pope Adrian VI. This polyglot excluded all of the deutero canon, yet received papal approval. Cardinal Cajetan, a staunch critic of Luther, wrote a Bible commentary dedicated to the pope in 1532 in which he writes the following “And in this place [after Esther] we conclude the commentaries on the historical books of the Old Testament. For the rest (i.e., Judith, Tobit, and the books of the Maccabees) are reckoned by divine Jerome as outside the canonical books and he places them among the apocrypha, with the book of Wisdom [of Solomon] and Ecclesiasticus (Sirach), as is clear in the Prologus Galeatus. Nor ought you be disturbed if you find somewhere those books reckoned among the canonical, whether in the sacred councils or among the sacred teachers. For the words of both councils and teachers ought to be brought back to the revision of Jerome, and according to his opinion expressed to bishops Chromatius and Heliodorus, those books [today’s aprocrypha/deuterocanonical books] (and if there are any other similar in the canon of the Bible), are not canonical, i.e., [they] are not normative to confirm those things which are of the faith. But they can be called canonical (that is, normative) for the edification of the faithful, as received and authorized in the canon of the Bible. For with this distinction you can discern the things said by Augustine in book 2 of De doctrina christiana, and written in the Council of Florence under Eugene IV, and written in the provincial councils of Carthage and Laodicea, and by Popes Innocent and Gelasius.” Your claim of “all Christians” agreeing on 73 books of the Bible until the 1500’s is one of the most outright historical falsehoods that could be made regarding the Protestant/Catholic canon disagreement.
@ That’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying that 2 high ranking cardinals, contemporary with Luther, produced works that denied the deuterocanon which received papal approval. Seems almost like we are judging with unequal scales for prominent inquisitors to be ignored for doing the same deeds Luther did 🤷♂️
Wow. The simple fact that so many people believe all these ridiculous lies just blows my mind. They hear one or 2 things and just run with it and start claiming it as fact. It's really sad honestly. Most people nowadays don't have the intellectual integrity to hear something and go and research it for themselves before they start claiming it as a fact or even spreading the rumor or whatever they just start talking. Back in the ancient times when you spoke it meant something you chose your words wisely nowadays people just talk just to talk. And that is why we have so many confusions and misunderstandings on biblical theology and historical happenings.
Constantine created a new " Christianity". Taking the torah, which was the only scripture at that time having to do with Yeshua, and adding and subtracting from it. Thus resulting in people, especially jews to fall away from Gods Truth, commandments,
Hey, wes, what are your thoughts on Michael Heiser theory of a divine council? If you agree with michael, you might want to watch your back around doreen.'cause she's probably gonna stab you in it.
13:50 priests was correct; pastors was not, unless you recognize that priests are pastors. 14:11 Popes do not have to attend or pressure councils. They ratify.
Same here. He’s very educated and well spoken. I love him, even though he’s missing the very plain fact that the Old Testament had those 7 books. From the 1611 KJ Bible to the Latin Vulgate and the Council of Carthage show these books have been there for a millennium.
@@michaelrome3527 The fact that these books were there does not mean they were canon. But the fact that they were called Deutero-Canon shows that they were canonised later than the initial canon
These statements of "fact" coming from people like Joe Rogan who don't bother to study or learn the material they are criticizing is very destructive to those who actually believe in it that may not be as strong in their faith. It's reckless, ignorant, and very irresponsible of someone with such a huge platform
The Battle of Milvian Bridge took place on October 28, 312 A.D., which is the year that the Roman emperor Constantine the Great is said to have seen a cross in the sky: he was no Christian
Sadly you guys are incorrect about the Sabbath please show me a single verse that actually changes it because while you stipulated that he was talking about the Lord's Day in the Book of Revelation nowhere does that was Sunday in fact most people believe that when he said it was the Lord's day it was a vision of the day the Lord comes back the Lord's day that time period so no there's literally nothing in Scripture that states we can worship on Sunday nothing in Scripture that states that God changed the Sabbath he only hallowed Saturday the 7th day of the week he never hallowed Sunday so worship or not on whatever day you want that's fine but there's only one day that's holy to God
That's very honest, too many people would scoff at sound reasoning like yours with a mindset bearing the argumentum ad. consequentiam fallacy. For some reason, people think that because our Messiah picked grain to eat on the Sabbath, means that the Sabbath was bad or something. Yet, all day long you can hear sermons criticizing Pharisees. Very ironic. Let me also say, our society does not facilitate resting on the Sabbath, and it is very hard to obey YHWH at times. Perhaps the Constantine creed was a fulfillment of prophecy that believers would be persecuted.
He is also wrong, when sail constantine had nothing to do with that, that is short sidded, and i will tell you why. Constantine was responsible for calling for the consel of nacia 325 ce spelt wrong but thats ok get the point, So that concel most ministers would say is to determine the divinity of jesus. so with that they debated if that was so and if so which they determined he changes the whole bible cannon becaus now only the scriptures that fit that narrative was allowed in the cannon.
I love you Brother Wes. And I BELIEVE you are being sincere. But, your discernment about the Sabbath is incorrect. Exodus 31:16-17 KJV. Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. Quite simply the Bible (Word of God) says the Sabbath is on the seventh day. AND, for a very specific reason. I Am also put it in the Commandments that we are to remember it. I AM also said we are to keep his Sabbaths from generation to generation. NEVER in the King James Bible does he say Sundaay is now the Sabbath. And, speaking of King James, I am skeptic of any "bible" that has omitted verses with no explanation. Especially a verse such as Matthew 17:21, that explains how to get rid of demons! 🤔 So, KING JAMES VERSION only, please!😧 Proverbs 30:6 KJV Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. Deuteronomy 12:32 KJV What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. Deuteronomy 4:2 KJV Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. Mark 7:9,13 KJV And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. Colossians 2:8 KJV Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. GOT IT?🤗
Trinity should not be used, you are making the One God into 3, there is only one God, who made himself a body and came to reconcile humanity back into fellowship with Him. Jesus is the mighty God and Savior

catholic comes from the greek "katholikos" which means universal inclusive and in the context of nicea it was used to say "all in agreement" which the whole term was "one holy, catholic and apostolic church" which it was catholic because everyone agreed with the original creed. Fun fact: the orthodox church was nicknamed orthodox by the pope that seperated from the east. The orthodox still refer to themselves as "the one holy catholic and apostolic church" roman catholics are not the only church that use that word. Catholic in this context was not about roman catholicism. @CohlKerkau

Jesus elevated the status of women. He appeared to women first. He also had many women followers and women helped fund and establish the early church. Shows are limited by time set by the host so there is only so much that they can fit in.
Dan Browns Davinci code had a point though. There must be a bloodline somewhere through Joseph or Mary right? 😅
That is utter garbage and has no connection to history or theology
They had other kids, several other sons mentioned in the gospels, James being one.
So there's a good chance that they have some living descendants but so what? What is your point?
They would NOT be Jesus' offspring, because Jesus wasn't married and had no children. If Jesus' brothers and sisters had children and I'm sure they did, Jesus was their uncle. He was actually a stepbrother to his siblings since Joseph was not his father.
Logion 114 uses andropos akin to androgyn he is referring to the need for balance see Matthew 19: 11-12
Christ in the New Testament speaks in parables and saying’s.
Can you please share books or resources? I love this conversation and wisdom
There are centuries of scholarship around the authenticity of the Bible
There was a bible before the council of nicaea, how they are putting books in a bible when a bible already exist
No, not true at all
The Seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God.
The first day worship is an invention of the Roman Church.
Please give me a source, A creditable one
If the people or prophets in the Bible really existed, where are they buried?
Underground
By this standard, only a few dozen people existed then, if that many.
I don't know where your great grandfather was buried there for he didn't exist
Thank you for removing me from my ignorance
Joe Rogan needs to have Wes on. It will seem dubious dubious if he isn't willing to have him on after giving a platform to all the Freemason, Muslim Brotherhood, gnostic heresies.
4:10 davinSI code???? There’re multiple layers of illegitimacy here 🤦♀️
Wes is an underrated researcher.
Link sources please
actually he did say it existed, but was clear to say “not as we know it today”, I would guess referring to the 20 councils post nicea, most recently being the 1962-1965 Vatican 2.
In the bucean creed say. I I BELIEVE IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH how come he said very minimum has the Catholic Church involved in the council
I believe you meant the Nicene Creed. It says "catholic" with a small "c", meaning "universal", not the Roman Catholic Church.
Most of the attendees were Eastern Christians very little from the west attended
In short the Council of Nicea was assembled to universally agree on the nature of Christ.
Yup. Past eternal God vs created being. And the final vote was not close, a 20 to 1 ratio.
Given John 1, I don't know how Arianism ever got any traction at all.
Wes please address the lds view of the apostasy or any information on the lds faith

"The Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath."
What was the purpose of the Sabbath?
Muslims made this up to explain why Islam is so different to Christianity, despite them supposedly sharing the same god.
For with this distinction you can discern the things said by Augustine in book 2 of De doctrina christiana, and written in the Council of Florence under Eugene IV, and written in the provincial councils of Carthage and Laodicea, and by Popes Innocent and Gelasius.”
Your claim of “all Christians” agreeing on 73 books of the Bible until the 1500’s is one of the most outright historical falsehoods that could be made regarding the Protestant/Catholic canon disagreement.
Oh please don’t say that Martin Luther dismissed the deuterocanonical books because he kept being schooled by others that used those books. 🤭🤫
@ That’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying that 2 high ranking cardinals, contemporary with Luther, produced works that denied the deuterocanon which received papal approval. Seems almost like we are judging with unequal scales for prominent inquisitors to be ignored for doing the same deeds Luther did 🤷♂️
Like which ones ?
Thus resulting in people, especially jews to fall away from Gods Truth, commandments,
Literally this is a lie created by Islam, you follow Allah and don't even know it
Hey, wes, what are your thoughts on Michael Heiser theory of a divine council? If you agree with michael, you might want to watch your back around doreen.'cause she's probably gonna stab you in it.
Heiser relied too much on mysticism and non-conanaical sources
How do you know that the bishop of Rome didn’t differ from other bishops?
Because there is no evidence
Actually there are evidence go bag to poly carb days convincing the pope to allow each bishop to utilize local belief to celebrate Easter!
Wow I have read that Constantine did these things you are refuting.
No different that’s going on today,
13:50 priests was correct; pastors was not, unless you recognize that priests are pastors. 14:11 Popes do not have to attend or pressure councils. They ratify.
There were only 4 Councils of the Church
And especially NOT the horrendous Council of Trent
Does she not realise it was 73 books, not 66, until the 1500s? 🤨🧐
I’m more shocked that Wes knows and doesn’t have a problem with protestant theology
@@manulajo1803 the term duetero-canon was not used until the mid 1500s.
@@michaelrome3527 nobody is contesting that.
But I'm pointing to the fact that it is called Deutero Canon means it's the Second Canon
"or pastors"
No.
He was baptized before his death. Why do you think he wasn’t a Christian?
No, he was not a Christian at that point
Doesn't everyone have a conversion experience?
@ he was Never a Christian!
@ what led you to that conclusion?
That vision is what made him a Christian, but I already know your and stupid boomer so no need to debate
Correct
That's very honest, too many people would scoff at sound reasoning like yours with a mindset bearing the argumentum ad. consequentiam fallacy.
For some reason, people think that because our Messiah picked grain to eat on the Sabbath, means that the Sabbath was bad or something. Yet, all day long you can hear sermons criticizing Pharisees. Very ironic.
Let me also say, our society does not facilitate resting on the Sabbath, and it is very hard to obey YHWH at times. Perhaps the Constantine creed was a fulfillment of prophecy that believers would be persecuted.
Rom 14:5 One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.
Joe Rogan is such a foul mouthed pompous bag which I never watch, but Ill enjoy this righteous take down
I think it's time to school Joe Rogan.. 😎
You should *at least mention Joe Rogan* in the info, to get mor views
I love you Brother Wes. And I BELIEVE you are being sincere. But,
your discernment about the Sabbath is incorrect.
🤔 So, KING JAMES VERSION only, please!😧
Proverbs 30:6 KJV
Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
Deuteronomy 12:32 KJV
What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
Deuteronomy 4:2 KJV
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
Mark 7:9,13 KJV
And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
Colossians 2:8 KJV
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
GOT IT?🤗
Trinity should not be used, you are making the One God into 3, there is only one God, who made himself a body and came to reconcile humanity back into fellowship with Him. Jesus is the mighty God and Savior
Wes is very close to becoming Catholic. Very smart guy. I've seen sharp Protestants like him figure out the truth many times. Keep pushing Wes, you're doing great service to God!
Wes knows and follows the Bible.
I don't see apostasy in his future
There was *absolutely* a Pope in the 300s.
Says a catholic, lol…
catholic comes from the greek "katholikos" which means universal inclusive and in the context of nicea it was used to say "all in agreement" which the whole term was "one holy, catholic and apostolic church" which it was catholic because everyone agreed with the original creed. Fun fact: the orthodox church was nicknamed orthodox by the pope that seperated from the east. The orthodox still refer to themselves as "the one holy catholic and apostolic church"
roman catholics are not the only church that use that word. Catholic in this context was not about roman catholicism. @CohlKerkau
He never said there wasn't a pope.... he said that he wasn't called the pope at that time
Really? What was his name?
@@kellygipson8354the title was Bishop!!
I have no idea why these biblical scholars keep working with doreen virtue. After what she did with michael heiser, I would not trust her as far as I could throw her.
What did she do with Michael? She’s swopped Christianity from new ageism for her hustle. Her testimony was clearly satanic
Heiser is a mystic that deserves no attention
Joe Rogan is a pseudo intellectual. The more that I've seen his show, the more that I've drawn that conclusion. Sure, he's curious, but he does what all of the other pseudo intellectuals do, takes what someone says at face value without investigating the claims.
Youre not a Roman catholic im pretty sure..how come you believe in constantine, the Roman emperor that basically started the Roman Catholic church....?
Because he didn't 😂😂😂😂
Learn some history scrub
Joe Rogan very intelligent? I don’t think so.
Oh wow, Wes is full of shit!!
Well then, I'm convinced now 😂
