Holy cow, Travis Mitchell killed it. Now all of my local mayors are looking a whole lot dumber (not hard to look dumb in Cali). Super impressed by the Mayor. Great guest!

I found the description of how tax dollars are broken down for use very interesting...and was surprised that only 20% goes to the town. Thanks to Mayor Mitchell!

Keep in mind. The city also gets money from sales tax.

I’m not going to have a lot of kids just to justify Texas property tax. LOL. That was just the most silliest thing I’ve ever heard of.

Affordability is comparing average living expenses(housing, utilities, insurance) to average wages and seeing if they consume an overly large % of that gross income. For example median income is 31K and a median 1 bedroom apartment is $1200 so nearly 50% of your income would be rent that's not affordable. I have heard 25% of your income should be to housing expense to include taxes mortgage and utilities that seems like a good number. Keep in mind we have already shifted the Overton window of income significantly. Previously a household income was a single income now it is very rare to be able to afford to live without two incomes. Generally costs of living expenses have been outpacing income increases for most people for quite a while.

For large cap improvements like new police-station or new school ..Would it work tohave a vote on proposition for 1 year bond to fund construction of new police-station or new school?

What are your thoughts on Easton Park? We love the neighborhood but wait time is Fall for new lots. Is it worth the wait?

@@JeremyAKnight I'm not original commenter, but I'd like to see more content on communities closer to Austin, TX like Easton Park and Goodnight Ranch. My boyfriend and I were hoping to build in Easton Park with Taylor Morrison, but the competitive market is discouraging after seeing that Taylor Morrison lots were going for 200K in Dripping springs and Pflugerville area. Personally, I like Easton Park because of the upcoming plans for the area (trails, dog park specifically) and the HOA community facilities. It's also close to downtown and base prices are safely in our budget but not with the lot prices Travisso went for. Do you think Easton Park will experience a similar price per lot? Thanks!

@@Kristendelores I have Easton park as one of my places not to buy in a video. Mainly due to the property taxes and there isn’t a lot out there. It’s a nice community otherwise

@@JeremyAKnight Do you forsee the bidding wars going as high as leander, dripping springs, etc. ? Property tax and the area currently being developed aren't major issues. My boyfriend really wants to keep his commute to

@@Kristendelores we have clients currently buying in Easton Park. There is a new community coming across the street from Easton at a lower tax rate in McKinney Falls. I do recommend using a Realtor. Currently we have 19 buyers under contract with new builds. Shoot me an email. Jeremy@austinknighthomes.com
